these days I don't even remember my weekend because I have to pack so much house work into them because of all the regular work I have to do during the week. My Favorite hiking / picnic food is fresh watermelon chunks
Since watching your mango rice paper sandwich video those are what we have been making for our backpacking outings. And yes, we use a single burner backpacking burner from REI for all hot items when backpacking.
Yum those noodles are my favourite! They're not at my local asian grocery store but whenever I go into the city, I scour Chinatown for them =D One of those cuts you were pouring the turmeric milk into a cup and I thought you were pouring it into the oats! XD hahah And those mountains are gorgeous =O
Wow, what a beautiful place you went to! And the food looks so good as always. Thank you Mary, for all the food inspiration and just good feeling videos, I enjoy them a lot!
You could always make tea by putting boiling water into a really good thermos in the morning! It should still be hot enough to pour over a cup of tea by midday.
Hi! I'm traveling over the summer with a couple non-vegans. This journey will mostly be by car and most of the meals they eat will be from fast food stores. If you could make a video about how to eat something other than salad while traveling on the road, that would be fantastic! Thanks!
Chickpea pancakes are some of my favourites. Be sure to cook them well until brown on both sides as the chickpea flour is made of raw chickpeas. Then it will be more digestible.
Yummmmmm! what a delicious looking weekend. I spent last summer in Jasper... the Rockies are so spectacular it's kind of ridiculous. Those rolls looked like perfect picnic food, but I also make a mean veggie club sandwich that makes a perfect portable hikers lunch :)
Hey Mary! I recently searched the internet for stinky fermented tofu and found various of recipes, there are many ways to make it but it probably turns out differently depending on your way of preparation. Now my question, do you know a traditional recipe for that? And if youre interested, could you make a video on how to make it? Would be so nice to see you doing it and hearing your thoughts on taste, consistency, smell,.. Love your videos and hope your hand gets better soon!
Man everything looks so freakin tasty! I've been struggling so much over the last 2 years trying to go back to veganism. Any advice for finding support and having an omni hubby, since I know you can relate? Thanks for all your inspiration!
Thanks for your kind words, dear. My advice is to look for support elsewhere; online groups or with friends. Hubby might be scared of you going vegan and pushing it on his life. Most people are resistant to change so maybe reassure him you're doing it for YOU. Resist the urge to judge or comment on his choices and focus on your own.
+Mary's Test Kitchen | Vegan Cooking Thanks Mary! I was vegan for about 4 years and he joined half way through but it's been SO challenging going back and trying not to beat myself up. You're right though, this is something I need to do for me and keep reminding myself why I'm doing it. :)
I started with just walking for 10 minutes in my neighbourhood last year when I had back issues. Now I'm up for 5hr + hikes. Don't be afraid to start small
The ones in the video were from Earth Island (Follow your heart) Mozzarella and Cheddar slices. I use daiya sometimes too. I don't really find them oily. More gooey.
Dear Mary, I think the "Hoisin Sauce" was supposed to be a "seafood sauce" actually. "Hoisin" is a Cantonese word means seafood which I don't think it is vegan (?)
You're right that hoisin means seafood in Cantonese. However, hoisin sauce usually doesn't have any seafood in it. It's meant to be put ON seafood and is also component in Char Siu (bbq pork) sauce. The hoisin sauce that I use is vegan, as are most of the brands available in my local grocery stores.
your voice is so friendly and calming mary! it feels like im listening to someone close when i watch your videos
you're my favorite vegan youtuber if not my favorite youtuber all around. you're so authentic and positive. thank you for being you
