Harrison Ford talks '1923,' 'Indiana Jones,' and what’s next

- Hollywood icon Harrison Ford opens up about his 60-year career, his foray into television, closing the chapter on “Indiana Jones” and why he has no plans to quit acting. “The idea of not working doesn’t make much sense to me. It’s really where I feel most alive," he says.

He should get his Kennedy Center Honor for his contributions to American culture and motion pictures. Nobody will ever forget him as Indiana Jones
.....HAN SOLO always.

I heard it’s definitely one of the movies you should study. The films impact on cinema and adventure plus action is greatly amazing. Everyone did great, Spielberg, Lucas, Ford, John Rhys Davies, Karen Allen, the prop makers, stunt team, fashion designer, etc!
Or Hand Solo
They normally give them out when an actor finishes his career and it looks like he ain’t finished just yet.
He is on the "Mount Rushmore" of actors, in my opinion. He's a classic, a legend.
Same.
Absolutely agree.
With Marlon Brando, Robert Deniro and Robin Williams
@@johnkeenan7586 And Al Pachino.
Clint Eastwood too.
For 80 years old, Harrison Ford looks and sounds good for his age.
Mads Mikkelsen said he went for some giant bike ride after a super long day of filming once. That habit is probably a part of it
He's been looking great for his age for the past 20 years, atleast a decade younger than his actual age.
Its not like *bam, turns 80, looks great*. He's been keeping it up.
Good genes, no checkerboard wrinkles across his face, staying healthy.
Im hoping I will keep my hairline as well
I don't know if he benefited from Plastic Surgery but I clearly remember everyone marveling how he looked incredible at 47 Years Old when he did the 3rd Indy Jones Movie. Then he came back at 66 and did KOTCS looking fifty something. Probably in his 🧬🧬🧬
look at al pacino
Such an amazing career! He's acting in his 80's. I love Indiana Jones, he's just made this character one movie at a time. He should definately get a Kennedy Center Honor.
We need a petition!
Sylvester Stallone is 77 soon and still does his own stunts, and action films, more so than other people his age but doesn’t get anywhere near the same recognition. He’s also a writer, director, producer and actor.
@@axelstone3131 Stalline is a botoxed puppy und not in the same league with Ford as a actor.
@@janeustergerlingkunstmache4407 nobody used Botox anymore. That’s your opinion and your option is wrong:
People know him for Han Solo and Indiana Jones but he has been in so many other great movies.. He is an icon and forever legend.
Her smiles during the interview were so genuine...like a kid meeting her hero.
cant believe two of my favorites from childhood ( Harrison Ford and William Shatner ) both still going strong
The reason why I always loved Harrison was because he never cared about the glamour of Hollywood. He played in two biggest franchises in cinematic history and yet from his interviews you can tell that he feels happiest when he can just talk about his other movies that are more than just entertainment, they are art.
He’s a great actor, his acting always comes across as down to earth and genuine.
I don’t think he’s acting in this interview. I think this is just him.
@SkyNet General he’s not terrible at all. He’s the best!
@SkyNet General troll
Living legend. 80 years old and just as charismatic and humorous as ever.
He is, without a doubt, the most youthful looking octogenarian. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think he was in his 60’s. Even though the previous 4 Indiana Jones movies varied in quality, Ford was always great as Jones and looks like he’s still able to bring a lot of charisma to the role he was born to play.
Bill Shatner is 92 and looks/acts younger than Harrison Ford
Yes, Shatner is well preserved for his age, but can he still run, fight, and ride wild horses like Ford though?
60? I feel like you’ve not met a lot of 60 year old people lol
@@alextepe4309 shatner still rides horses and even appears at reigning shows.
OMG, Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are alredy in their 60s!
This was such a sweet, endearing interview. Ford is an acting legend, but was so gracious too with Savannah Guthrie's questions. I also loved her respectful, sweet demeanor toward him.
Never in a million years did I think that Harrison Ford would do not just television, but a comedy-drama series like Shrinking, but I’m loving it!
You know I think doing 1923 is the real icing on the cake. He's showing what a versatile actor he is at 80'. That just puts him above most Hollywood actors.
Nah it's going to be horrible he's far to old, not remember the last mess
@@jabronisauce6833 it’s going to be a great experience :)
My Mom (RIP in '03) admired Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and as an actor as much as I did...
My now almost 19 yr old son's middle name is Harrison.
🤗
i had a crush on harrison since i saw him in raiders in 1981. your mom had good taste. my mom who passed away a year ago was more of a Kevin costner and frank sinatra kind of gal...
🧡🙏🧡
@@juliasharon5337 @Anita J in FLA You both have my deepest condolences, As one who has lost her mother, I feel for you. Speaking of moms, my mom and I went to see "Raider's" one evening after she had worked all day. (It was the same theater my brother took me to to see "Star Wars" when I was nine :) She fell asleep!! And I fell in LOVE at 13 with Harrison Ford. I walked out of that movie on a cloud!! :D Lifelong fan and still my biggest movie star crush! Now that I'm older, I look back on his body of work and I am amazed he has not yet received an Oscar, although I don't think he cares :) Blessings to both of you!
This is one of the best interviews with Harrison I've seen. I love the guy but he's a tough interview for sure
She is a good interviewer. Charming and sweet yet interesting also. Well done
I wish I can grow old like Harrison Ford. He's quite a handsome man for his age
Agreed!
A couple million will do that to a man
This is one of the better interviews with Harrison Ford, I’ve seen nice.
Yea..im glad they didnt ask him to sign a Lego Millennium Falcon
I'm just going to say they gave this interview to exactly the right person. What a delight she was, and sharing her joy (and obvious crush!!) made this interview all the better. This wasn't a canned interview like we'll probably get on most late-night talk shows. It was a lovely moment of connection. Of course we're going to enjoy Harrison. But she really took this 8 minutes and made it even more special.
He is one of my favorite actors I’m excited for season 2 of 1923 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and I’m going to see on the big screen and be there for the final adventure of Indiana Jones
Gosh, he hasn't changed in 40 years. Still funny and quick witted. What a treasure. Can't wait for the new Indiana Jones movie.
It's sobering to see age finally catching up with Harrison.
well said
I thought the same thing, this is the first time I've seen him looking his age.
And to think people were making old man jokes about him in 2008 for Indy 4. Ford is great at any age.
I’ve never met Harrison, though I hope I do one day. He does seem like a nice guy, a good guy. I believe that. The charitable work, helping the environment, saving and helping people, taking pictures with fans and talking to fans, he just seems like a great person. And the fact that he taught Ke Huy how to swim while filming Temple of Doom, and standing up for Anne Heche while filming Six Days, Seven Nights, just makes you love him even more!
I want to meet him too
Same. He seems humble and pleasant.
Doubt u will

What a amazing person, with an amazing career ☺️💖💖
NoW I understand that he can’t oh well, but I wish Harrison Ford could play Indiana Jones for the rest of his career but oh well this is probably the last time, but this looks like a good movie at least every good franchise I guess has to come to an end oh well but at least he’ll always be remembered for the role of the character
This was a great interview. That interviewer is so respectful and have the emotional intelligence to really listen to the subject of the interview instead of just asking questions. The fact she was also fangirling is awesome! Congrats to her!
She never brought up Harrisons scientology connections...
I was thinking the same thing. Just very well conducted. She was charming, and the chemistry made HIM charming.

Great interview.. really well done. Interesting questions and kept Mr Ford interested/ engaged
my 80yr old friend just passed. She could barely walk. He's doing great!
This guy is such a legend!! I love Indiana Jones and Han Solo🙂.
Mosquito Coast is definitely worth checking out. It had that archaeology vibe to it.
My entire adult life I think, “I wonder if Harrison Ford has ever or would ever do this?” Changing a light bulb, edging a lawn, taking a child to flag football practice. He’s led a crazy life…thank you Harrison for your work!
Harrison Ford is my favorite actor. He has been for a long time.
Harrison has been my favorite actor since I was 5 and seen ROTJ in theaters. Seeing him aged makes me feel very old
I feel the same way😢
We all get old, but he has aged like fine wine.
@Cameron Brown I recently watched "The Ten Commandments" and it made me think about the fact that even child actors for that movie are either very old or passed away decades ago. But I suppose, we shouldn't really dwell too much on it but try to live our best lives🙂
Lovely to see him enjoying the interview. From what I remember, he hated doing press for force awakens, but in watching this, I really think he loves working on 1923
My dad rip his films were the first i remember seeing. My dad adored him. He is my childhood. A national treasure
Harrison Ford has been in my life from when i first saw him in "Star Wars" and then other numerous films including "Indiana Jones", "Blade Runner", "The Fugitive", "Witness" and my favourite "What Lies Beneath" and he is still making movies, good for him.
That was the best Harrison Ford interview that I have ever seen. He was present and seemed to really enjoy being there!! Right on!! Great job! Aloha!
At the age of 25 he had a small supporting role in "Merciless Ride". He wore a fancy blue uniform and his hat had a big feather. At the side of John Wilder he excelled.
Han Solo was based on a cowboy. Indy is also a cowboy.
In the meantime, he has "ridden everything he could get.
Bikers with sidecar, speedboat, sailboats, submarines, ships, trucks, no camels, rubber boats, vintage cars, cars, kayaks, spaceships ... and now he is the cowboy with the star.
I try to see that young Han Solo face saying "Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy!" and it makes me sad how surreal our short time is here on earth. He looks great for 80s though. Happy to see him healthy and happy! Thanks for all the movie memories Harrison!
How is this man, at his age, able to work so much? It's incredible
The Force is strong with this one.
Because he's Harrison Ford...
Simply put: He keeps in-shape.
The amount of the paycheck!
It's strange, though, back in the 80's, he only did one movie a year ... Doesn't those TV-shows take more time?
Best interview I’ve seen in a very long time. Informative, engaging
A gem. Real. Thank you both
Thank you, Mr. Ford. You're a wonderful presence to the art of cinema.
Harrison Ford is one of the greatest of all time.
I've adored this man since Star Wars came out. I'm 60 now. Still adoring.
55 here! Still crushing! I've always called him my "husband", whic cracks my girlfriends up because he's been my "husband" since I saw "Raiders" at 13! :D
Savannah had so much more cool than I would! I doubt I’d be able to make coherent sounds come out of my mouth in that man’s presence!
He seems so humble and sweet. 🥹
Harrison Ford is .. the cinema to me. He's everything .
He looks so well because he loves what he does. The key to living a long life is to keep doing what you enjoy. When people stop is when they pass.
Hollywood Legend. Would love to see him still perform but understand if he truly retires....
Long live Harrison Ford! Thanks for all the awesome films and here's to many more! Can't wait to see Indy's return this year!
Fantastic interview! Beautiful energy.
I like it when she said it’s not like interviewing a politician . People are starting to realize that politics in our movie and entertainment is out, pure entertainment with means to tell a story is in. we see movie to escape into someone else’s world and to pick up bits and pieces that we see in their daily
Lives, to connect.
I think he enjoyed this interview
I would like to have "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" on streaming-services ... they were great ;D
He finally seems older but im still excited for Indiana Jones
I admit, I thought of all the humans who ever were, Harrison Ford would be the one exception who would never age.
it's not the years, it's the mileage..
🙃👍
What a delightful, treasure of a human being.
It's so great to see Mr. Ford giving a serious interview. He was really in it and enjoying it.
80?!!✨✨✨😊. May he live to be 100 🤗
Harrison Ford is the best. That’s all that needs to be said.
Great video! So dynamic! I love the property as well!
It's very rare to see Harrison so comfortable. She did a really good job! ✨
Eastwood, Ford, Stallone : all aging impressively! Pushing back the limits of the human body!
Sadly Eastwood looked like a walking skeleton in his latest movie. Granted, at 91 he's doing great. To think that Stallone is only 5 years younger then Ford is mind blowing 😮
Harrison Ford = He is a National Treasure!
I would love to just sit and smoke a joint with him...what a legend! My 1st crush...
I will cry when he isnt around anymore!
'It's more of a Request than a question' LOVE that.....
Wild to see a film called "1923" and my beloved Nana is still alive and born in 1922!
Always a fun interview. Ford is a real man.

That was a really nice respectful interview. Glad I come across this. I never seen yellowstone as I do t watch many TV series but obviously I got to.

He's excellent in his new TV show Shrinking. I think that's a pretty good insight into how he really is.
Excellent to hear the movie is coming~!

Good Interviewer for Harrison Ford!
Love Harrison ford right from his early movies
This amazingly epic BLESSING to the world has got his second Most ICONIC character revived and a half dozen shows in the works. What a legend
A very well done interview. Props to the lady who did the interview, nice work! :)
OMG I love him 💓
An absolutely endearing interview. Both sides made this perfect.
its sad to see Harrison Ford getting old. Hope to see you live longer
He’s incredible in Shrinking.
I would be perfectly fine with an Indiana Jones television series starring Harrison Ford, even if the action were toned back a bit due to his age. Even if it were a completely different genre, I'd be fine with that. I love the character so much.
Harrison ford is my hero, while people were trying to be batman and superman I was running around with rope trying to while things while trying to discover my back yard.. he's a true hero and a man's man
Loved the interview
I'm a 1000% sure that he'll get an Oscar for his Lifes Work within the next couple years!
