- Directors and Screenwriters Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert had researched the concept of the multiverse as far back as 2010, and they began penning the screenplay by 2016. Originally written for Jackie Chan, the lead role was later reworked and offered to Michelle Yeoh.

Actually the "Jackie" refers to Jackie Chan, who was originally meant to be the main character.
I can't wait to get my hands on this screenplay. The movie was phenomenal.

This is by far my favourite movie of 2022 and most likely beyond! Michelle should have an Oscar for her role. The gender switch, was brilliant. Also her husband plays such a sweet driven role, which might be more cliche when played by a woman.

You should have used the script with Evelyn and waymond as characters.. It’s pretty much on point.
Jackie Chan could have never carried this film to the extent Michelle did. His unavailability was a brilliant mishap.
Actually, the directors were planning to get Jackie Chan for the main role. But decided to change the role's gender.
I love Jackie Chan but Michelle Yeoh is a better actress. She brought layers to that role like it was an onion.

It’s so weird that this was written for Jackie Chan and instead got what I think is a better option. No shade thrown at him but I think Michelle Yeoh was so perfect for this role.

I went to see with my daughter what a crazy, insane good movie. Mitchell, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ke Huy Quan deserves the Oscars for the different they was playing and many emotions. Stephanie Hsu deserved an Oscar as well for her characters she played.

It is totally worth watching, but be prepared. Is not your normal Sci-fi multiverse movie, it's full of metaphores and analogies. Not the kind of film you fully understand the first time. But frankly and for such a small budget, it's a masterpiece.
