    The Dark Knight (2008)
    Director: Christopher Nolan
Writers: Jonathan Nolan (screenplay), Christopher Nolan (screenplay), David S. Goyer (story)
Stars: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal
In preparation for his role as #TheJoker 🤡, #HeathLedger hid away in a motel room for about six weeks. During this extended stay of seclusion, Ledger delved deep into the psychology of the character. He devoted himself to developing The Joker's every tic, namely the voice and that sadistic-sounding laugh.

It's 95% accurate to the screenplay. But the little changes make it better.

Yeah, I was very surprised by that. It’s not common to stay that true to a screenplay. Just proves how good of a writer Christopher Nolan is.

      "dent knew the risks"
meanwhile in the script Joker is taking way more physical damage than he shows here.

I still find the death of Heath Ledger so very tragic! What a legend!!!!!!!

    “You complete … ME”
That little pause, right there… amazing. Signifies that even though he is on some seemingly sophisticated philosophical tangential, and even though he is talking about Batman, the only person that matters to the Joker, the one that only matters to him… is himself. Splendid performance.

Interesting how ledger basically ignored every cue in the script and just did it how he thought it should be and it was just perfect

    Heres another BAD JOKE:
Its funny how "writing" misses to get its share of credits.

@@Hello-hello-hello456 Yeah, no. Writing is an extremely harsh business. There is no salary, and money only depends on how the book does. NOBODY has the time to care about credits when we can hardly feed our families.
What matters is internal reputation and money.
That's the sad reality of a writer's life.

This interrogation scene and The Batman's interrogation scene have one thing in common: showing how corrupt Gotham is!

The script mentions the joker bleeding after many blows he takes from Wayne multiple times, I think its so much more effective that this never materialises on screen because it makes the Joker seem so much more inhuman and akin to a force of nature, which he kinda considers himself to be in this film

    • @drakoinx

Personally not a fan. The point is he IS human, he is simply a very messed up one. Schizophrenics don't have immunity to damage, what makes the scary is the unpredictibility and lack of a basis in reality.

Heath Ledger is so good but can anyone really watch this movie and not laugh at Bale’s performance? He is so silly with that voice in his little bat costume with the pointy ears lol.

JUST NOTICED EYES DARTIN: "I know truth, no goin back, ya changed things" THAT'S ALLL JOKER, NOT HEATH..by that I mean even way Joker's eyes move was created by Heath and belong soley to character; Heath's eyes didn't dart around like that when speakin to someone.. Joker's DID.
such a subtle addition easily missed being that EYE movement is DIFFERENT from facial expressions OR when camera PURPOSELY focuses on say an "eye twitch" of a character; think Pitt in 12 Monkeys, well acted but Pitt's eye twitch was an established "tell" to audience.. he's nutz.
    BUT Ledger's... eh . I've said enough...
    ANYWAYZ..
MY DAD always said "sign of a good film(maker) is upon repeated viewings one sees something NEW every time".
... Heath Ledger.. River Phoenix.. (opening to Indy 3? River killed it!! 👍🏻🤘🏻!)
    ...their talent is missed.
