Back in the early nineties, I worked as a truck driver. No guns allowed, so I kept a (cheap) large hunting knife strapped,to the gear shift. But late one night/early morning near Chicago, I was the only one fueling my truck at a rather large truck stop. It was snowing and for some reason I let my guard down. A guy comes up from my 4 o’clock and starts screaming at me with a snub nose revolver pointed at me. I had a folding hunting knife in my back right pocket (where he could see me draw, if I was going to), but no other weapons on me. I managed to keep calm, but struggled to think of a way to handle this without losing my wallet. Finally, the fuel nozzle clicked off, and I told the guy I was going to put the nozzle back up and I would give him my wallet. He began moving closer, still screaming at me. The opportunity presented itself, I squeezed the trigger and shot diesel fuel in his face. It went in his eyes, nose and mouth. Then a police officer came around the front of my truck with his gun drawn and yelling. He had seen it on the camera and ran out to help. Cameras were not very common back then. The officer asked what I did to the guy for him to be laying in the fetal position screaming. After I explained, he could stop laughing, but did call for medical help.

Something as a carpenter i always keep in my vehicle and even under my bed is a sharp Carpenters hand saw. Brilliant offensive and defensive . An attacker without a projectile weapon has no chance taking a hand saw from you.

    (1) Never get into a fight when the pool table is full of balls.
    (2) A well rolled magazine, thoughtfully used, is a very good improvised weapon. And you can take it everywhere.

A beer bottle to the dome works excellent I’ve seen it make a mess of someone blood everywhere. Anything can be a bludgeon. A brick a rock a pool ball in a sock. A bar stool. A hammer wrench screwdriver. Crowbar. As a truck driver I keep a claw hammer in the truck cus it’s useful in many way.

I became a single woman in 2010. I decided to travel so traded my sports car for a truck and 5th wheel. I haven't had training but felt fully prepared for ANY trouble. First, I had a loyal cowdog. She'd warn me with plenty of time to get to any weapon. I had my Louisville slugger just inside the door. Opposite it was a claw hammer. A 380 inside the first cupboard door-kitchen. In living room, a fully charged taser above the television in a cupboard. A filet knife inside the console of the couch. I had hairspray and a lighter on the bathroom vanity and an axe behind the door. Behind the bedroom door, a twelve gauge. Under my pillow was a 9mm. Under the bed was a 30.06. Inside the closet, I had a 45 and a 257. Do not ever think that you cannot defend yourself just because you are inexperienced, small, frightened, or alone. I have never needed to defend with a weapon indoors, but I guarantee you, anyone entering uninvited would regret it.

To ban or not from the group? Quarantine if possible. They may be an important contribution to the group, also, if kicked out and if they don’t immediately expire, they know where you are, your teams strong and weak areas.
Improvised weapons can include a walking cain and a belt with a significant buckle can be quite affective. Take the belt off , one wrap around your hand, swinging it in a figure 8 in front of you and it adds decent separation between you and the bad guy/guys.
That’s a simple operation to use with little practice.

🇦🇺😎👍🎄Everything is illegal down here in Australia. A mate of mine disturbed a burglar a few months ago. He got in a fist fight with him (10 pm) , the guy pulled a knife and the fight progressed with fists. The police turned up and took the criminal away and he’s now currently in prison. The criminal put counter charges on my mate ( who had a gun licence ) and the police returned and confiscated his guns and his gun licence as now he’s been deemed an unsuitable person ( charges pending for violence )…. Good old Australia 🇦🇺, the lucky country 😉

Hi from Melbourne... you know Australia struggles to present a ''peaceful'' image, but the truth is that they hide everything under the rug... I've heard so many shootings in my neighborhood [Windsor] that were never mentioned on the news that I lost count... my guess is that there are even doctors [or vets] taking care of wounded without reporting it for a fat fee...

Always alert and aware. I always have a metal pen a metal clip flashlight that takes 2 AA batteries and I have to get around with a cane now which I have not had a probable at the airport so far.
Restaurants usually have glass or metal salt and pepper shakers or the salt and pepper thrown at the eyes. They also have a regular knife at the table if you can throw accurately. Chairs as you have pointed out. Hot coffee like you say followed by the cup.
A good self defense dojo or seminar and follow up with training.
    Very good video.

i make a concerted effort to avoid places that i cannot carry my firearm.
a wooden cane is an awesome weapon and can be taken anywhere (ADA), even on planes and through tsa checkpoint without question. i carry a one inch cane whenever i cannot carry my firearm.
i look for heavy glass sugar container on table in restaurants.
i almost always have a flashlight on me as an impact tool in hand like a roll of coins.
if you have a piece of paracord on you hydration container it acts like num-chuks.
mechanical pencils can be carried almost everywhere.
banish over eliminate, i have morals, they might be low, but i have some.

The choices are fairly unrealistic, there should be a way to seperate those who are ill, making a shelter from a tent, or using a tarp for shelter tree branches whatever. Seperate them have food , water and use there own bedding, they are not allowed back until well! You dont kill people, thats outrageous. Every effort should be make to create some kind of shelter and send them there. Remember these will be friends , family members, neighbors, who are important to the groups survival if they survive
