DOGE'S PALACE IN VENICE-IT'S GOOD TO BE THE DOGE!

- One of the highlights of Venice, Italy was visiting Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale in Italian), which is located in St. Mark's Square. The Doge was basically the leader of the Republic of Venice for over a thousand years and Doge's Palace represented the wealth and power of the Doge and of the city of Venice. There are several rooms and halls in the palace with beautiful architecture, and in my opinion, no one does ceiling decorations better than the Italian masters. You will also see the Golden Staircase, the Armory, the prison, the Bridge of Sighs, the Palace Museum, and my favorite room, the large and ornate Chamber of the Grand Council, which features the world's largest painting!
