The scenery is simply smashing. But I'm afraid I'm most taken by the amazing engineering and construction, hanging the roadbed on the side of this most challenging terrain. All those tunnels, and those beautiful stone arch viaducts, all built at the beginning of the last century without heavy construction equipment. Just surveying the route in that terrain was a wonder. Thanks for sharing it.
I agree.. just surveying through these valleys is a feat in itself. So these viaducts aren't newbies, huh? This entire railroad infrastructure never ceases to amaze me. Gotta be some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet.

I don’t know how my hubby found these beautiful train rides, but thank you! The engineering from 1875 thru 1915 has been remarkable. The mountains are awesome. Now when someone said a family member fled over the mountains into Italy from the Nazis, I can see it was not just an easy hike. Wow!

There is another narrow gauge railway from Chur up to Arosa, at roughly 1500 meters above sea level. Another beautiful train ride. Very calming, and stunning views. /edit: Checked your videos, you did that one already. Thanks, my dad really is going to love that. He is an absolute fan of that train ride.
It looks amazing in VR, with a very large screen, curved all around you. Even though, it's not 3d, but it still feels amazing. I wonder if it is possible to ever get these videos in VR format. Not the short clips but the complete journey.

Interesting video I just happened across. Some colorful scenery with the blue skies, golden-topped mountains, and the red Swiss trains. I don't doubt I'd be happy to live in just about any of these Swiss towns shown along the way. If only I could speak and read German fluently, I would consider applying to emigrate to Switzerland. Swiss engineers have one great advantage: building on very hard stone - not as we Brits do on shifting sands, clays and river mud.. At Chur in the evening they often have a Yodeling Competition in a 14th century original church (Sfr 20 each). In the station in the morning in a shop window I admired a pair of underpants (NB. Americans: this means one pair only) for only Sfr56, each! Gents.. make sure you bring a spare..

Thanks for posting, I enjoyed every moment. At 1:12:00 it reminded me of the scene in Polar Express where the train goes across the frozen lake. At 1:27:01 - is that the "Canoe Club Church?" And near the end at 1:33:05, on the metal wall to the right - they have taggers in Switzerland? - What also struck me is how utterly devoid of track noises this video was. I only heard the whine of the motors and a general rumbling, rolling sound, nothing else. Almost eerie.
Depending on the curves and rolling stock there can be a bit more squealing of the wheel flanges. Yes, unfortunately graffiti has become a problem, especially around cities

Die Gleise liegen zwar nebeneinander, das Stromsystem ist aber unterschiedlich (15kV 16,7Hz bei der SBB, 11kV 16,7Hz bei der RhB).
