since a friend recommended your channel I´m watching 1 - 5 episodes a day, depending on the time I have. I really like your style, what feels like an absolute absence of a script. the mix of vlog, voice-over on time lapse, the innuendos, the geeking-out. It´s just your personality, you are a wonderful and admirable person and that´s what makes your viewers addicted to your content.
"That one bolt caused me 4 hours extra work" That's why I don't blame mechanics for charging $100 an hour. Wrenching on your own stuff is the most frustrating and satisfying thing imaginable. As a fellow Vet and shadetree wrencher, I appreciate the nerd talk, the work, and most of all, the humor. The whole package is just beautiful.
You probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
@Leighton Lorenzo I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
You don't have to worry so much about the content in the moment! We just like to watch, and it's more of a surprise to see the different types of videos you put out, it adds a nice variety! Keep up the good work, but don't forget to take some time for yourself!!
I like everything about your videos especially the care you take in cleaning stuff up. It reflects your military training and experience. I've learned a lot about Audis watching your channel.
I like focused/serious no-nonsense videos just as much as the sillier ones. What's important is that they come through as authentic, which is a Sarah Specialty.
Your skills amaze me; wrenching skills, detailing skills, editing skills (I love how you start a sentence in one place, then by the end of it you're somewhere else in a flash)
Been binge watching your vids for over 4 hours now, help i need to stop, but really, love your vids , very impressed with how you will not give up, no matter what gets in your way , great stuff keep doing what your doing ,
Wow, I’ve been watching your vids for a while, and thought this is the coolest girl ever. Just found out about out your story in other mechanic forums. Nothing has changed, you’ve got %100 support from your fellow Veterans and Service Members, or at least this one. Your channel is fun to watch!
Just a thought - I have worked on a lot of friends cars and the dirt and grime which seems to even go thru heavy duty gloves comes off with Purple Power in a pump-up garden sprayer. I leave it set for a while and then go to the car wash. Of course, you have your own washer so would be easier. Makes a big difference and not expensive.
Sara San, I saw a super clean cherry red TT today soo0, I had to watch this video.. also, I too am working on a project/build. I bought a 2004 jetta gli recaro ed. Plat grey no wheels everything broken for 1500. Now shes almost minty mint with lots of upgrades. I love that feeling when your driving along and people give you that glazed look like that's the coolest car ever! It gives you that reason to keep going when you've had enough.
Recently Subscribed to you're channel and have been binging it. 1) thank you for you're Service 2) Love You're attention to Detail and Cleanliness 3) Love You're Sense of Humor These cars as a Kid were Dream cars. Can't wait to see what is next and Be Blessed ❤🌹❤🤙🏽
I'm impressed, usually youtubers make me cringe at least once a video, you however have a clear understanding of what you are doing. Kudos! Liked and subscribed!
Your TT is far from a pile of crap, Sarah. It's probably one of the best of its age that's around. Love, it's what makes project cars great project cars.
Just love the editing here. Jumping out of the trunk and the next scene for a second had me thinking something went very wrong. Also, how it looked like you threw the tire across the room. I like how you mixed the voice over etc. Im definitely a fan of this format. Even if you vlog a little more I think this direction is good. By the way, a friend of mine is a huge fan of yours. He loves that you clean everything. He is the same way. I even crossed my toes ;)
I live in the UK and get my car mapped at JBS! Amazing how far parts can travel! With the manifold, a 3" downpipe and nice intercooler you will hit around 285bhp 330lbs torque, if you do decide to go hybrid turbo at some point you'll 100% need a set of connecting rods! Great build!
The number on the part at 12:35 is actually just telling you what plastic it is, PA66 basically just means nylon and KKP is the factory where it was produced. Unless theres a number where the vice grip crushed it and I can't read it lol.
You're so awesome you've inspired me so much and I've been working on my car nothing as big or complicated as the stuff on your show but I've been changing my oil and air filters and put in a new radio. keep on being awesome Sarah love ya so much
Nice Job Sarah and the composition of the video was just fine! No problem cleaning the areas you are working in either. Hey, it makes you happy! You made great progress on this install also.
It looks like you're making great progress, Sarah. Hopefully, this will be one of the last messes with this car that you will have to clean up. When I saw the part of the video, where you jumped out of the hatchback I thought, "I wonder if she really IS Scotty Kilmer's daughter?" You're amazing! Keep up the great work.
Brought back some memories when I replaced and upgraded the turbo on a Saab I used to own. I couldn't find copper washers for that thing anywhere in the city. I was so frustrated. Fortunately, the Volvo dealer saved me.
during my last car restoration when I came across giant messes like that I would just hit it with brake cleaner because there was no paint work or anything underneath to be damaged and that cleaned pretty well without having to block off everything to get a pressure washer and I generally don't like introducing water into the engine bay anyway.
That’s a good tip on dish fluid to clean engines. We use biodegradable stuff so the run off will be a bit less toxic I guess. I have an engine to clean so very timely!
You are the best and I love your videos. It's great to have a video that's not a lot of vlog so we can all see the frustration and the determination that you experience to complete your projects. Production values on the video are up to Sarah standards and for this I'm grateful. Thank you for all you do
Did you say newerer @6:50? I thought I was the only person that made up new words like that. Lol. Fun. As far as your Vlog control, you're doing great. I love all your videos. I just recently found you a couple of weeks ago and I have to say you really know your stuff about vehicles. Keep them coming because like everybody else, I want more.
🤞🤞TT definitely living up to it’s reputation as a concept car that made it into production! Man that’s tight to get to the turbo. Your doing a great job Sarah👍.
I use dish soap also to clean my engine but I use an old weed killer sprayer.. The large 1 gallon kind that have a hose on the lid with a regular little sprayer at the end of the hose.. I actually bought some small clear fuel line from a lawnmower shop.. made it long enough so I don't have to hold the gallon container but the line is long enough to reach everywhere I need it to....
Even in serious work mode you have radiant beauty. I’ve got everything crossed for teeter tot’s easy reassembly It’s not a pile of crap!! Stay optimistic and get plenty of food and rest 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Good video of course, glad to see the Teeter Tot. I just watched Trevor’s video, the king of primer, and the MR2 looks great. Now I understand why you would like to repaint Mr Dos. He just kills it on the paint and bodywork videos, kind of makes me want to switch professions.
From a feedback perspective on your videos, keep the technical details of showing exactly what you're doing. It's so helpful. Seeing the time lapse of the work is good too, it clearly illustrates the work required. Maybe put on those clips. Stopping on the pickle parts is good too.
Use laundry detergent liquid in different strengths for all de-grease cleaning hand washing etc.....I use Seventh Generation out of convenience because I hate most perfumed scents... But tide etc work as well. Little residue and soap suds. I spray down everything with differing strengths.
I was working on replacing my Drivers seat(got a seat at the yard but swapping the upholstery because mine is perfect) in my 1996 Jeep Cherokee sport 5 Speed 4.0 and decided to take a break and see if you uploaded a video-You did!!!
Sarah, Love your videos . A couple of suggestions- grease and grime removal- Simple green works great, Anti seize for the manifold bolts will allow them to be removed easier in the future.
Dirty worry I like your videos changing [ace and format! It keeps it interesting and I like to hear your voice and you funny awkwardness vibe you have! I put your videos on in my workshop as I work away! Keep up the great videos!!!

Yes, I’ll cross my fingers for you. I’ve had some success using WD-40 and a brush then Dawn and water to remove greasy gunk. In my opinion, it is easier on your skin than some of the harsher chemicals. Keep up the great work.
You can heat those copper crush washers to anneal them and reuse them. I forget the exact process, but pretty sure you can get the job done with a propane torch.

Hi Sarah, i've been watching your video since you showed the mudflaps! Can 't wait to see them fitted I will order them too! keep up the cooll entertaining video's!
One last thought - if I get grease on my hands, I use Dawn with a scrubbie to get it off. Dawn cuts right thru the grease but does not mess up my skin.
Good luck!!! My nightmare project started a bit similar, MK1 1.8T 225 quattro, weakest link(connecting rod) ractory rod wont holdup pushing 300+hp. Now it's on stilts faceless and heartless, the KKK turbo is patiently waiting for a new donor
The dish soap is a good cleaner- Dawn is the best. For de-greasing and heavy cleaning, I like to use the dishwasher liquid or gel. It is super strong, so make sure you have gloves on, because it will burn your skin.

@Ismael Harley happy to help :)
I love the ChrisFix reference! My two favorite auto UA-camrs in one video!

Sarah’s got me saying “yeah buddy” when I fix things at work now and now my coworkers are scared and afraid of me... I blame Sarah for this...
same
Yeah, buddy!
Yup, me too!
😄👌👍 Next you need to start saying 1 ah ah ah 2 ah ah ah!:) Lol She’s the best though,.
Yeah buddy!

Awwww that's cute
I like the aqua colored brake calipers. They look good with the black rims and silver car. 👌
The moon and the way the clouds covered it is just as beautiful as you are and you are the most beautiful thing that has ever hit UA-cam
I love what you accomplish by yourself and how you explain everything that the average person can understand!!! Thank you Sarah

Totally agree, this style is very enjoyable......still loving the 8n.
I'm impressed, usually youtubers make me cringe at least once a video, you however have a clear understanding of what you are doing. Kudos! Liked and subscribed!
I watch a lot of [too much] UA-cam, and nothing quite brightens my day like a new Sarah vid.
I wrote a paper on the duality of light. Just thought you needed to know that!
@@wasptim Thanks, Tim, fascinating, mind bending stuff there. For full disclosure, I wanted my UA-cam name to be Schrödinger's Cat, but it was taken.
That particalwaveduality I didn't write a paper on, but I do like cats!

mindtraveller100 I caught that too. Awesomeness.
Oh, i never got so many likes before.
Thanx, random people. And Sarah.
@@mindtraveller100 40 likes, muah-ah-ah-ah!
It's another dividing line of Boomer/X'er. Like Star Trek/Star Wars or Alice Cooper/ Kiss. I will admit of course I know who 'The Count' is.
The most beautiful, charming, funny and down to earth mechanic on the planet x
OMG! Your determination is admirable and I'm amazed through all your efforts to remove that turbo! Thanks for sharing!
You're so awesome you've inspired me so much and I've been working on my car nothing as big or complicated as the stuff on your show but I've been changing my oil and air filters and put in a new radio. keep on being awesome Sarah love ya so much
I’ve always looked at the Haynes manual and thought,”who’s car is this clean?” Your cars are that clean!
Nice Job Sarah and the composition of the video was just fine! No problem cleaning the areas you are working in either. Hey, it makes you happy! You made great progress on this install also.
I'm starting to develop your cleanliness ocd everytime I take stuff out of the car 🤣 great video as always!

Any one attempting a job like this has my utmost respect because it's an absolute PITA working on older, crusty high miler German cars.

Sarah, you can use cans of brake cleaner and spray in there and it cleans real good and it evaporates and it won't hurt nothing
This video was perfect Sarah dont apologize.

Gloves ripping, sometimes instantly, and making 50 + trips back and forth to the tool box. I can totally relate!
You can heat those copper crush washers to anneal them and reuse them. I forget the exact process, but pretty sure you can get the job done with a propane torch.

if you look on audizine, we found on the B8's you can swap cartridges between K03's and K04's. You might be able to find a performance cartridge for that old K04 to just swap over.
I felt that part about running back a day forth to the toolbox! Hahah gotta love these audis
No mame it's not a pile of crap. I am sure everyone would love to see that super clean TT on the show floor.
Another great inexpensive degreasing product is Simple Green. Spray it on, let is soak, rinse it off. (I’ve used it to clean “O” ring type motorcycle chains for years.) It also works good for softening up “bug splats” before washing, not as good as the wet dryer sheet trick but not as messy either 😜👍.

for the extended work sequences, i prefer the narration that you've been doing lately to the music; it's much easier to understand exactly what you're doing. just my 2 cents.
Agree
Homemade Grease cleaner, Equal Part of Simple Green (40% total volume), White Vinegar (40% total Volume) then add 20% Dawn Dish Soap. It breaks up grease really well.
Nice work. I like how you clean things up.
1:33 winning!!!!
Great video, Sarah!
I really like the voiceover approach. I think it works well!

hi sarah im a mechanic as well over 20 years love your vids
I used Ez Off oven cleaner to remove burned on oil and crud, spray on, and rinse.
Hey Sarah Q! I love your OCD cleanliness. Those first pair of shorts were like WoW!!! Have a great day! R3
Aww, she looks so happy cleaning the new turbo. :)
Your videos are awesome, as is your attention to detail. Keep up the amazing content.
"I...I got it...I got the turbo out!" followed by the slightly I've-been-driven-to-the-edge-of-insanity laugh...yea, I've been there. LOL Know that feeling very well. Love it!

Hi Sarah, i've been watching your video since you showed the mudflaps! Can 't wait to see them fitted I will order them too! keep up the cooll entertaining video's!
Love your OCD which I rename OTD or attention to detail. So important to produce quality work
Keep doing what you are doing. You videos are good because you are just being you.

Nice video Try the feit led utility light stick zip tied on the hood so you can see . They work great for everywhere
Nothing wrong with cleaning all the poop off. Used to do the same, whilst boss moaned I took to long to do job. Pride in your work.
That connector/harness goes to the transmission, right next to the PTO. It's for the G22, Vehicle Speed Sensor.
