That was pretty much mine. Built a custom workstation with water cooling loop (64-core CPU, 2 2080 graphics cards), fancy quiet fans, multiple radiators, the works so I could use it for work without jobs taking forever or the fans sounding like jets on takeoff. But all the games I also have on it need none of that.

Not really, they just refuse to pander to youtubes bs that doesn't work anyway. There's a reason why the sponsors are going more towards the creators, not only is it cheaper but it practically guarantees the target audience at least sees it.

Even if you know, prebuilt PCs MB and components are so shitty that you can't really upgrade it that much because of MB and PSU limitations. You'll have to rebuilt most of it if you want to upgrade.
I've never played pc, but I'm thinking that a pre built is perfectly fine, especially if you're starting out and need something to practice on before investing a lot more on a custom job.

Typical things - you start with consoles and love it. Eventually start earning more money and buy a PC, buy all those old games you used to love and then just never play them.
Occassional new game comes out that I play on PC, but I still prefer my PS5 and Switch.

You would need a NASA super computer for 8K 240fps gaming.
I've achieved 600 soft FPS on a 4k resolution. The TV itself actually maxed out at 60, but the point still stands. The game in particular is neverwinter nights from 2002, but it still achieved the FPS while having all graphics at maximum. So if I had a TV/monitor which could actually display 240 FPS at 8k that game could probably do it on low graphics settings.@@SirDankleberry
@@setcheck67 I got about 250 fps at 2K with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations. I more meant with newer games at that fps and resolution.

I've been using a pre-built PC for nearly a full decade now and its been very faithful to me. No need to replace it with a custom rig when my pre-built hasn't given up on me

Feel like this is missing that guy that continues to insist you can build a rig to run every current AAA game for under $400 on a PC, but without a single point of reference to what hardware they think could pull that off, or how many pre-existing components they're already working with for that figure.
Nobody says that a $400 rig could do that, but a $500 rig could if you pick your parts right. A used Ryzen 5 3600 with a used RX 6600XT would be a good place to start.

I mean my first PC was 500 bucks and handily outperformed the consoles that were like 400 at the time. And I saved a ton of money in the long run not paying for online every month.
Then yeah now my PC is like $2500 but it’s a semi work expense as I edit videos and stuff too.
If you choose to use your Pc for literally anything other than games, like typing up documents for work, editing for photo/video, rendering, computer science/programming, clerical work, or literally anything a PC is used for, then you can justify the much higher buy in for a top of the line item.
*marginally better* and worse on some things, like bugs or frames all over the place (even if usually are x3 x4 times, having those going up and down random is bad)
@@valentds you clearly haven’t played on a Decent rig. My rx570 played Apex at 95 frames steadily and since I was locked on a 75hz monitor I never had frame drops.
Seeing as next gen console *still* is only locked on 60 on that game, I’d say for 500 bucks and it being 2019 when I first built my Pc (at the time ps4 and Xbox one wee hitting like 45fps in that game) it was more than marginally better.
Yeah consoles have exclusives and some better optimization in *some* games. But to say “marginally” better is disingenuous. Cyberpunk tan horribly on next gen, and as far as I’ve seen it still does. PCs have the potential to be a lot better if you spend money to make it better. If you factor in the next gen console, an extra controller since stuck drift is a huge issue with any controller, and paying for online play, it’s not a great deal to own a next gen console over a Pc.
Ps5 digital is going for about $450 after tax rn. A spare controller is about $110 after tax. $85 or so after tax for one year of online. Assuming a lifetime cycle go a console is about 5-6 years until the next generation, you’re adding an additional $510 just to play online. So total you’re spending about $1070 on a console. Not to mention if you want to take advantage of the higher refresh rate of the console you’ll probably want to buy a TV that supports 120hz. And those go for about $600 rn. You could get a monitor that’s 1080p 144hz like a pc would use for about $120 but idk anyone who bought a ps5 who doesn’t also play on a tv.
At that price range you might as well buy into a PC. You can get an extremely solid rig for about $800 rn if you build it yourself and buy a used GPU. Then add a mechanical keyboard ($50 for an ok one) and a good mouse ($80 for something pretty solid) you’re still coming in underneath a console over the lifetime.
Plus you can do actual work and make money on your Pc increasing the overall value.
When you pay 5000$ for console subscriptions over the years to get 10% of performance of 2000$ PC 🙄🙄🙄
