I'm taking a few minutes today to review some Fiskar products that I recently received. It's always helpful to know if a product actually performs as advertised and I hope this review is helpful to you.
First up is the Fiskar Circle Cutter. My husband purchased this item for me as a gift recently. Admittedly, he didn't know much about it and he had no idea that I'm planning a quilt top for later this year that will feature circles. It must have been in the stars that he was drawn to this circle cutter. I demonstrate quickly how the product is used (not an actual tutorial) and found that it does a pretty good job of cutting circles - both full circles and half circles.
Then, I tried out the 28mm rotary cutter. I thought I could use this with the circle cutter template but that does NOT work. I am hopeful to use this rotary cutter when I have curvy lines and when trimming up small squares and other shapes.
Next, I reviewed some short, narrow acrylic rulers (1" x 12" and 1" x 6"). I purchased the 12" ruler recently and have been very happy with it. The 6" ruler was a gift I received and I believe it will be great for working in small spaces and working with smaller fabric pieces.
Finally, I reviewed the scissor sharpener. Frankly, I'm not sure about this one and I certainly won't be using it on my nicest scissors but I do believe it will be helpful for some of my "utility" scissors I use in the sewing room and around the house.
If you're interested in links for these products, leave a comment and I will add those.
Happy New Year! Let's sew something awesome in 2024.
