How I Deal with Procrastination and Challenges
#quilting #quiltingcommunity #shamrockquiltstudio
Did I loose my quilting mojo? Why can't I gt anything done?
Sometimes, I find myself in a bit of a funk and I don't seem to recognize the cause. That was happening to me this week. Nothing was working out right, nothing was getting done.
Suddenly, it hit me that I was the problem. I simply needed to figure out why I wasn't being productive and solve those root issues.
Amazingly, within an hour or so, things began looking up. Problems were solved, a plan was developing and my mojo was back.
Check out this video if you've ever experienced the "funk." Sorry, I forgot to add the clip of my desk before straightening it up.

      Thanks for watching. To be honest, I'm not sure I even knew it was available or perhaps it was not available at the time. I ordered the adhesive tape but I ultimately just used some applique glue to hold the bias tape in place. I'm hoping to do another stained glass project in 2025. I will look into the premade bias tape as an alternative. Thanks for the suggestion/reminder.

      I agree. I can be more precise with a whipstitch and I think that a flat back stitch (at least the way I do it) uses more thread. Have you noticed that? I do find it necessary to use a flat back stitch from time to time but most often, I'm working with a whipstitch. Thanks for watching!

    • @shamrockquiltstudio
      @shamrockquiltstudio 13 днів тому

      @@margaretduffy1360 With a whip stitch, the two EPP pieces are placed right sides together. The thread travels in a small circle catching the edge of both pieces. Usually, a tiny portion of your stitch is seen on the front when the two pieces are unfolded (flattened). With a flat back stitch, the right sides of both EPP pieces face away from you and you stitch in a “flat” manner (keeping your needle horizontal to the papers). You try to stitch so that your sewing stitches only show on the back (wrong side).

    We seem to be on the same path, Kim. I recently wanted a 'portable' project to work on with a crafting group that my sister in-law started. I started learning about EPP and began with hexagons simply because that's the precut paper pieces that I found. Since then I found that diamonds went well with the hexies.
