After 50 years riding, I believe the most important safety factor in any helmet is vision. All the other protective features are necessary if restricted vision causes lack of awareness and leads to a preventable accident. Don't get me wrong, accidents from other causes happen and all other safety features come into play but if restricted visibility is built in, risk escalates.
I bought one of these helmets as a stop gap measure for a damaged Nolan and I like it so much it's now my go to helmet. As you say, so comfortable, great vision, all the features you need and a great price point. Oh and did I mention, they look damn good as well!
I agree 100%. This is the reason why I am not a great fan of Shoei. I have 2 helmets from them but now I clearly see that their vision is very limited. So despite the fact their are so comfortable and well made, I do not trust them fully.
Cool review. Gotta say though (i'm sure hes a nice guy and a great rider) but the guy on the left makes me think: "guy that someone randomly find in an english pub, that after a couple either makes you laugh or starts fighting with everybody)

Hello guys, I have the Cardo Edge & before that the Packtalk bold ,both units come with clamp & the 3m sticky mount.
I own a cardo bold, and it came both with the pinching system and with adhesives. You can take the mounting plate and just stick it to the helmet, which is exactly what I did, since otherwise I could feel the pinch in my helmet. Also, cardo sometimes comes with JBL speakers, which are larger, and that may sometimes be a problem as they don't fit in the built-in slots of the helmet.
M & T - do you know the safety rating comparison to say a Shoei neotec? The price comparison is very good at below £200!!
Hiya! Scorpion rate as high as many “over priced” helmets,hence why we always look around.
I have the ATX-2, it's great - comfy - works with my Cardo Bold Packtalk and has JBL speaker cut outs already. It's the top of the budget range IMO, as compared to high end it isn't that quiet and lacks free motion protection, quite heavy too. Great for what it is.
Great Video chaps. Am convinced I've just ordered one. Lol... every time I watch one of you video's I end up spending money. Also bought the 3dam mount for my Garmin XT on My GS 🙂(Awesome).
Good Review...I am replacing a ADX-1 and as I am ordering from Canada I wanted to ask if you can confirm that the sizing is the same as the ADX-1 XXL

Thanks for the kind words buddy. Yeah the sizing seems the same. I have 2 and got the same size as the ADX1 and fits well. A little snug to begin with as with all helmets but just right
It is nice but soooo heavy :( 1800 grams on your neck - that's too much for long journeys
Do you do requests? I'm a new rider at 43 y/o and I am gathering my gear for this season. My local dealer stocks Scorpion and the prices was in my range. Can you have a look/compare the Scorpion Evo-Tech Carbon to this ADX? I got the Evo as my first helmet and I don't know if I shat my leg. Should I have gone for something cheaper or different model?

I’ve used the ADX-1 for 2 seasons and about 15000 miles. Cracking helmet. It could do with being replaced soon. Probably between this and the HJC Rpha 90. The proprietary hatch for comms might rule this out as I have a cardo in that location and I don’t really like the idea of putting it higher up 🤷♂️

Сначала он показался мне не удобным, очень тяжёлым и большим, но после того как я проехался в нём у меня отпали сомнения и я думаю, что это лучший шлем который у меня был. Я быстро привык к нему, шлем удобный и функциональный. На мою голову 58 см отлично подошел размер L и цвет я выбрал белый что бы летом было комфортнее на солнце.
I think you need to have another look at the Packtalk comms units, as they fit onto helmets with ease.
The only issue I had was that to fit perfectly, I should have gone a size up
Just bought one of these as a result of this Video. Thanks RiderCamTV, for the detailed review. A review that did not give me the feeling I was being reeled in to buy this against my will, but a true and sincere advisery review about a Helmet and all it's pros and cons... full stop!
PS this is my 1st full face Helmet after 30 years of open, so called "Jet" helmets.
Very good vid i quite like the scorpion 2, i had the neotec then the neotec 2 and its not has good as the neotec which was a lot quiter, but i agree there is no need to spend ridiculous amount of money on helmets nowadays, i was told by a police rider they are only tested at 18 mph for impact. And you would probably have brain damage anything over that speed. Stay safe and keep the good work up.
What size u r on neotec 2 and this scorpion ? Im L in neotec 2 but when i try scorpion L it really cheek tight and pain

Is it possible to have just a few milimeters gap below the visor? I can't ride in the cold with the visor down because my glasses always fog up
Yep. Sometimes have to do that when it’s bad rain. No click but it does allow air in
Hi guys, the Neotec is P/J approved. Doesn’t have to have the lock, it has a further click position which holds it open and that allows it to have the ‘J’ for jet approval. Unless it’s changed in the last month?
i'm buying blind on the old inter-webs... This helped a bunch cheers fellas
I have the same issue with the inbuilt coms units. I understand that they are doing it on Safety reasons but they are awful and as you say the mounts get in the way of the coms we already have. It makes new helmet buying difficult.
I just purchased a ADX-2 and the button for the flip is red not black like yours , its a lovely fit

I have the EXO AT950 and the new EXO AT960 which are the additionally DOT certified versions of the ADX1 and 2 for American markets.
The EXO AT960 is a good helmet. Adventure helmets typically have a long chin/snout area ostensibly for better ventilation/breathing while you are working the ruts, rocks and ridges of your _adventure_ trail. However, the EXO AT960 has very little space there near your lips. It may be because the new interior vent switch takes up the area. It's not bad, but some may find it a bother. I find that the Scorpions I have had are slllllllightly rounder than my HJC, Shoei, Arai and other brands. I say that because both my wife and I find more pressure in the forehead than in other brands. I went up a size on the new EXO AT960 just to mitigate that problem and I can still feel that there _may_ be some issue there. The helmet is new though and I haven't ridden all day in it yet. Otherwise, yes, it is a very comfortable helmet ... as nice as my Shoei and the wife's Arai _collection._ :)

Here is the thing I am wondering about... ECE is a much better standard than DOT. I would much rather have an ECE certified helmet, but in the US we are required to have a DOT certified one. Any ECE helmet will meet DOT standards, but without the sticker it technically isn't legal. So, is the EXO AT950 the same helmet just with a different sticker? Does it meet, but not say that it meets ECE standard? I know no one here will know, but I wish we could know. I would get the US version if I knew it met ECE, otherwise I would rather take my changes on getting a ticket with an illegal helmet.
@@tedthurgate Yes, the AT960 has an ECE sticker. The 950 does not.

Just bought a scorpion adx 2 on your recommendation, did you have problem with vibrating peak ? Mine seems to at the speeds you normally cruise at 😢

I'm about to pull the trigger on the ADX2 I'll be using my Freecom coms system which is the third i've had over the years they work great and each time improve. I normally use Shoei or Tour-x but they've become out of my budget, this helmet first fit was comfy hope it last as long
How did you mount your freecom? Clip or the Glue plate?

Great helmet BUT take care with the screws; they can Come loose when using the Chin-bar It happende to me on the highway. ASK fore spare parts and/or solve with Loctite 234

Винты раскручиваются при открытии и закрытии подбородка в том случае, если не правильно установил пластиковые шайбы на винтах. У меня так было, потом я переставил пластиковые шайбы правильно в пазы и притянул винты, больше винты самопроизвольно не откручивались!
Hi you are wrong about the cado not being able to be stuck to your helmet, they can all be stuck on as well be clamped

Hey guys I’ve just purchased one of these, rode for the first time Sunday gone, I also ride a GSA, However the peak was really vibes… with the screen up or down, thought it’s really gonna annoy me riding down to Plymouth from Manchester that is……🤔
That’s not great. Not had any problems so far here. But I have got a windscreen extender so that may be why
The ADX-1 has the same issue as the plastic of the peak isn't rigid enough, I just remove it.
My head is 59cm..buf L size is really tight.. especially on my upper ears and cheek..does it break in later and more comfortable..?
I found that mine was a snug fit and loosened up after using. Motolegends to a great video about getting the right fit. But mine loosened up :)
@@RiderCamTV im in the middle of L and XL (59cm)..tried L its a bit pain on crown ear area..(maybe due to my eyeglass)..do u think it will loosen up later..? Its seem the tight area is on eps not sponge
@@hakimshajime8245 моя голова 58 см и мне туго наделся шлем Scorpion ADX 2 размер-L, первые дни было болезненно на затылке за ушами и при закрытой челюсти в скулах. Потом через пару дней стало комфортнее поролон умялся. Я думаю если голова 59 см стоит носить XL.
Hi I'm considering this helmet, can I ask is the fit true to size, in an xl I get a little forehead pinch but xxl is a little loose, and thanks for the great reviews.

the problem is with that new position for the inner visor is that like on my exo tech helemet... that little slider is very sensible and breaks easy and/or blocks easy too... mine just broke again this weekend... so yeaaaaah..
Highly regret buying mine shortly after seeing this review. First ride in the highway, 120km/h, the peak almost flew off the helmet as the fasteners get easily loose with small vibration in the peak. Very dangerous design flaw, do NOT buy this helmet.
I’ve had two of these helmets and never had a problem with the visor, I find it better than most premium helmets that I’ve had over the years
Can you remove the triangle piece in the bottom front? I find that it is misting up, even with the oinlock fitted.

CAUTION! This helmet has a design flaw. The shield is likely to fly off partially whilst riding and throw you off your bike.

Have you had an issues with the ADX 2 peak vibration? Mine is vibrating that much its giving me double vision.
Nothing so far
I bought one. Sold it soon after. It was like having a cement block ony head. Way too heavy. If it were lighter it would've been perfect.

Does the peak adjust or is it in a fix position when chin and visor closed.
It’s in a fixed position. Moved with the helmet being open but is fixed when closed
The most uncomfortable, heavy helmet with more rattles than a rattlesnake convention. Save your money and get the Airoh.
I agree with you. It is HUGE helmet, I reckon I will try something that is not flip up.

Ordered in Medium size, as my last helmet, Bell MX-9 was same size and fit perfect. Finger-cross🤞 it be same for this new helmet. 🙂
My cardo spirit HD hopefully should fit nicely inside the helmet. Also got Drift Ghost XL to attach as well. :)

Would be great if you could test this helmet at 70mph as the only other test I’ve seen warns not to buy it due to the peak vibrating at motorway speeds. I’m really considering buying one but need to be 100% sure before parting with my hard earned. 👍

Hi. Has anyone else had a issue with the pinlock with this helmet? Mine always fog up around the nose area. I've tried a new pinlock insert and a new visor but the issue persists.
Have you adjusted the pin lock pins on either side. Sounds like they are a little lose and not holding the pin lock right to the visor
Do the adx-1 visors fit on the adx-2 ?
No they are slightly different shapes
Fortnine tested those ratchet locks and they failed. They shouls always be D-ring.
Fortnine has great reviews but they are not always right, and besides they don't sell ratchet style chin straps, and once you have one it's hard to even consider a D-ring
