I don't know how to reach you Amanda. But I really wanna thank you for being my teacher for audit... I have passed my CPA uganda exam Audit and other assurance services. Greetings from Uganda
Amanda thank you very much for the videos and the effort you put into making them. I fell in love with your teaching approach and can't listen to other tutors. Hello from Tajikistan
Dr. Amanda, you are very kind for sharing this type of knowledge and making us love the audit. Is there a video in which you explain the 4 methods of sampling you mentioned?
Just started my honours in accounting in South Africa and I love your channel 😭 thank you for the helpful tips Btw the missing audit terminology is "observing" if I'm not mistaken
Thank you very much Dr Amanda for sharing all this information. I have been using some of your examples in teaching audit at a local university in Papua New Guinea. It has been very helpful
He'llo, hope you are doing well ! Thanks for wonderful videos you share..your session are very easy to understand. Thank you. One question- How to prepare test scripts for TOD and TOE and what exactly difference to be kept in mind while preparing ?
Thank you for the tips, Amanda, just to add to what you said, knowing your assertions and risks you are trying to address may help you in designing audit procedures.
Hello Teacher! Thank you for all your videos, it helps me a lot to prepare for my audit work and I wanna ask if you have already a video regarding sampling methods?
Thank you very much for this video. Just from browsing the comments of a few of your other ones, I can see how necessary it is given all of the students basically asking you to do their assignments for them. Given how often students struggle to apply audit concepts, though, I have to wonder: Is there something broken in the way most textbooks and/or professors teach auditing (specifically in undergrad)? You touch upon the vagueness of examples in textbooks here, but is there anything else about current approaches to audit education you think require addressing? Additionally, do you have any advice for other professors who may experience difficulty helping their students around common roadblocks?
Hey! Such great questions. There are some factors that I think come into play. One of the most important is the educator having practical audit experience - this makes such a big difference - because for me, auditing is about certain skills - and if you haven’t actually experienced those skills - it can be really difficult to teach audit well. It can become a lot more focused on teaching content from a book. If educators don’t have any experience - then working with great tutors who come from industry can help. I get the most messages about poor teaching of audit from students whose teachers have no choice practical experience. If this is you as an educator - connect with an audit firm in your city and ask to do an internship with them! Spend a few weeks on your sabbatical working with a firm, shadowing someone. For me - we spend so much time racing from one topic to another - with shorter semesters, more content required by accreditation bodies and less face to face time (often due to budget cuts) - it feels like we don’t spend enough time with our students working on the skills to be great auditors. It’s tough! We are teaching the skill of professional judgement and decision making. Which is part psychology, part audit theory, part standards compliance. This is a really great topic and perhaps something worth making a video on in the future!
Hello! Thank u for sharing. Need help on this. Can we separate IA and Control testing when we are the Internal Auditors? I believe both come together. Let's take a case where there were Accounting errors and Financial statement disclosure errors and the control testing I am doing is based on that Balance sheet item with accounting error. The attributes of Control testing are satisfied but there is a serious accounting error. Is this questionable with a client?
If you’re an internal auditor - then control testing is part of the role. If control testing finds no issues, but you still have a financial error - then you need to investigate how it occurred. This might also cause you to review your control testing program and see if there is either a potential gap somewhere or perhaps an issue associated with sampling
Good day Amanda? I have been following your videos on internal audit and it has been of great benefit.I want to ask for favour ,to help me do a video on Health Management Organization internal audit and controls. I just got an audit job in an HMO.I need it to help me on the job. Thanks
Hi dear Amanda. I am interested in learning how to conduct audit of a case, proposal, matters of administrative or financial considerations etc. But I am not aware of the basics of conducting the audit. Is it possible for me to learn and benefit from your videos although i am a beginner.
Thank you for your support Amanda, all of your Videos are really helpful. Would you please do Practical Audit Working Papers for Major accounts by using Excel or any other Software? I am really Struggling in this area and your assistance will be highly appreciated. And your channel has became my mentor since I was employed as an internal auditor.
Hi - I don’t have any templates or examples for that. Check out Auditopia’s data analytics collaboration group (free to join - www.auditopia.com) - I’m fairly sure I’ve seen some materials there.
Hi Aman - we normally arrange with the client to get access to the records we need - AuditBoard has some great information www.auditboard.com/blog/what-is-an-audit-trail/ If your client is using a standardized accounting program (eg Xero) - often the entire year’s worth of information can imported into an analytical tool like Inflo or Mindbridge to give us more tailored audit trail information
Hi Dr. Amanda, Kindly guide me over an issue. I am leading internal audit department. A departmental audit, part of annual audit plan, has refused or delayed to initiate the audit on some grounds. I intend to issue a letter to management on behalf of audit committee. Kindly guide about letter or provide, if any, sample. Thanks
Hi John - thanks for the request - unfortunately I don’t have the time, and I’m also getting more and more very specific requests that are actually for student assignments (asking me to help them cheat) - so I won’t be making any more specific procedure videos - just what is already there.
Hi - have you tried the automatic captions? Proper subtitling unfortunately is something I don’t have time for since making YT content is not my day job (I have one of those, plus a young family)
You act like "your method" is some sort of breakthrough in audit learning but it is nothing but the most elementary and obvious approach ever. Tone down on the arrogance, doctor.
Hey Gustavo - sorry to hear that this method, which isn’t in any auditing textbook, was something you didn’t find useful. There are a lot of other great auditing channels out there that might be more suited to your taste. Best of luck in your endeavours 😊.

There is absolutely nothing groundbreaking on this video, my study materials that all CPA candidates read here cover this. Maybe she organized them in steps a bit better, but that’s it.
