Thank you so much for those tips! I found that something that also helped me improve my exam technique (actually suggested by my lecturer) is the use of mind maps when making notes and also when planning my answers in tests and exams, so this helps to answer the questions properly, since I found I would usually leave out things specifically asked or add something that was specifically scoped out in the question (which was a massive waste of precious time). So this way, I knew what the categories are under a specific section, so I could go through it in my head and ask myself which sections are relevant and which ones aren't. This saved me a lot of time and helped me build clear, structured answers :)
Hi Professor, I have qualified my Chartered Accountant exams India and I really want to thank you for your videos, I have referred your channel since 2017 and never found the subject boring. Your Standards on Auditing videos which you have prepared from the Auditing pronouncements is brilliant. I can vouch that no other channel on youtube provides the quality that you provide. Thank You, so much.
Amanda. I am currently an audit major at Texas Tech. Just now discovered you this past week and just now saw this video. I am needing to learn the practice side of auditing (learning even to the math and computational level how to do Analytical Procedures,, Stats, Data Analytics, computation). Thanks for providing those kind of videos. I appreciate you more than you know!!!
From Algeria living in Canada. I’m CIA and CRMA. I find very useful your videos. Thank you for finding time to share all this knowledge and real life experience
Thank you Raymond - thank you for your hard work - government audits are tough but crucial for accountability of our politicians and their departments 🙏☺️
Thank you Amanda! Much love from the UAE. I’m gonna be taking ACCA Audit and Assurance exam next. It’s pretty challenging and I’ve struggled a bit until I grasped the idea of the audit, since I work in a non-audit accounting sector I don’t have any auditing experience. Your videos are very helpful and you just make it very easy to understand. My overall confidence level towards AA I can say it’s 75% :D
Hi Dr Amanda! I have recently completed my PhD in finance engineering, but I'm now getting back into the audit industry. I just joined an accounting firm , and your videos have been helping out a great deal! I qualified ACCA before I went for my PhD, but it was without paper P7 (I went for papers P4 and P6 - UK). I plan on appearing for that exam early next year. I'll keep you updated. Thanks a bunch! Following and forwarding your videos to others
Thank you so much for this video!! i am going to be appearing for the ACCA Audit and assurance paper in Dec 2022 and i wanted to understand the approach by which to study audit. This would be a very efficient way to begin studying!! lots of love!!

Very helpful Amanda thank you. And also what I can recommend is to view the whole audit as a lifestyle that why it enhances your consistency and ensure you focus on it not only for exam purposes but for the longterm.
Thank you for this quality video. The way you talk is really making me into it, It really makes me understand why there is a saying that " Clever people with kindness is really charming" .

Thank you for your lectures . Best regards from POLAND. I am ACCA fellow and statutory auditor in practice. I am watching your channel to get back to the roots of audit profession so as to say ;)
@@amandalovestoaudit Yeah, my tip would be to go through as many past years solved exam questions/tests as possible. ACCA examiners do publish them. First you have to learn a bit of theory though to be able to understand the solutions. I actually skipped solving any mock exam tests myself (no real revision before exam) and simply went through dozens of past years solved questions. It gives you confidence and chance to cover all the material. This tip works for audit and assurance exam and any exam requiring a lot of descriptive answers rather than calculations.
Just discovered this and find it very helpful. Could you please do more test of control on automated sales, warehouse inventory, and purchases. Also test of control re: revenue from sales online.

My Audit teacher in the CA-Inter stage told me to imagine when you read Audit. Similar to deep learning as Amanda said. Post this he asked us to imagine you are in a client place doing the audit. Imagine how u are using the standards, using accounting policies. (Basic understanding) then Question urself why? What is the purpose? How to do it? To understand the practical approach... Yup! It worked.. I cleared with the A+ grade and exemption in Auditing. But things are too deep in the CA final 🙄.
Hi Amanda I used the memorizing method for so long and I knew that it wasn't effective, but my current now problem is that is that I forget as I study. Thankx for the Tips👌🏽
Hello Amanda, Thank you for finding time for us and making such awesome videos. I have qualified ACCA and your videos helped a lot. Now, I'm appearing in June attempt for CA final and you know we can use Auditing Standards in Exams. Can you please make a video how to read standards, what are different components/elements of a standard and where and how to find relevant topics? Thank you so much.
thank you for this, I wanted to be an auditor once I finished my degree since it gives me challenge but I am having a hard time studying, i tried the reading again and again but still having a hard time remembering things.
Hi Astyn. Sorry about that. You can bounce back and do really well in Auditing. My advice would be that you do a thorough reflection on what led to you failing: 1.Exam technique 2.Not understanding your work. If your problem is exam technique (e.g. You don't finish answering questions, you don't apply more, you are not succint when answering etc), do more questions under exam pressure and strictly mark yourself to test your understanding of the work. If your issue is not understanding your work, spend some time on your study material and try to deeply understand what each section deals about. I also tried to imagine the things I studied. Make it practical in your brain. The other issue that you need to consider is your deep understanding of the other modules e,g Financial Accounting (We mostly audit accounts. If you don't understand the process followed until we have those final amounts in the financial statements, you might have a problem answering your auditing questions). I think Dr Amanda also gave great tips you can incorporate in your studies. Try them out. You can do it! Best wishes✌
Thank you very much, Dr. Amanda! Just found your channel and I'm so wowed at how simple and likable you make auditing. Sending lots of love from Nigeria!
