My mum bought this record, while visiting a childhood pen-friend in Norwich, in the late 70'ies.. and brought it home to Denmark.. I was around 10 at the time, and always loved it, and thought it as not only good fun, but also pretty well arranged and most certainly well executed. I loved the album right away, and I must have heard it a million times back then, as it's crystal clear in my memory.. even today. Lyrics, guitar riff's (who's is that on guitar..?). The LP was lost in 1989 fire, and my mom died a few years back, so it's a real treat to hear it again.thnx !! Certain substanceeeees :-D
I'm always amazed when I hear Bill Oddie sing. Comedian, actor, ornithologist & could easily have made it as a serious vocalist.. He is a multi-talented guy.
I had the vinyl of this back in the 70s, gave it away to a friend in the 80s but these songs have stuck in my mind all this time and I am delighted to hear them in full again rather than half-remembered snippets in my head. 'She Wouldn't Understand' would get the artist imprisoned if released nowadays. Fantastic - Thanks Jo Freddie for uploading these songs; you're a star :)
Wow. Last time I heard this was over 40 years ago. Somewhat younger and my parents had bought me a few Goodies albums and books and not noticed the age content. I didn't understand much of it then (I was around ten) but worryingly I could sing along to it today. My youngest daughter (15 years old) is looking at me somewhat concerned :)
Couldn't agree with you more... this was one of my favourites mainly because it is such a contrast to the cuddly image projected by the "main stream" albums. I never actually owned this and rather lost contact with over the years but still - now and again heard the wonderful tunes and outrageous lyric in my head. Great to hear it again - thank you.

Jade version should of not gone on Indian Big Brother, just a feeling from a thought I have and had before, like hemorrhoids, hemorrhoids 74 of them would be called a bunch of grapes, free to all dead Jihadi's?

I can't believe only three comments on this, this was the best record I had as a kid and despite not understanding MOST of it I loved it
Totally agree Oddie is a superb musician/producer considering they don't actually play any instruments. He's incredibly talented

Oh love this track…why can’t I find it anywhere else?
I love this album. It's actually musically fantastic IMO.
and you came back 9 years later to listen again
One side of the stereo is low on this recording. I still have this album. "Synthesiser man" is my favourite track. I don't own a record player though.
Just me or is this only one channel (Edina Krum's piece in Rhapsody In Blue)?
The Bill
