    What about sweetener?

    • @severineskitchen
      @severineskitchen  20 днів тому +2

      If I were to add sweetener, I’d add 1 TBSP of honey in the mixture before cooking.

    Desert ? Sugar?

    • @severineskitchen
      @severineskitchen  Місяць тому +4

      As a sweetener, you could add a tablespoon of honey if you want to keep it carnivore-friendly. For a bit more flavor, you might also enjoy adding half a teaspoon of cinnamon. Hope that helps!

    Custard needs a sweetener i use maple syrup. Tastes like scrambled eggs without it. 🤢

    • @severineskitchen
      @severineskitchen  Місяць тому +1

      I totally understand! I’m just so used to a carnivore diet that I need very little sweetener, if any, to call it a dessert. For this recipe, I used vanilla paste and dusted it with cinnamon before eating. But of course, you can add sweetener in the ingredients: a tablespoon of maple syrup or honey would be perfect!

      @MichaelDirk Місяць тому +3

      @@severineskitchen 🙄 stop with "maple syrup and honey would be perfect!" There's nothing perfect about those two ingredients in Carnivore or any diet where you're watching your insulin levels. If you want to make it sweet, add the Allulose sweetener.

      @@severineskitchenor allulose if you need to avoid sweetener that spikes blood glucose. I will make this as recommended and to my husband’s I will brûlée a bit of allulose! Yum!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe! Just subscribed because it’s so yummy!

      @severineskitchen  27 днів тому +2

      @MichaelDirk Absolutely! The carnivore diet definitely calls for a bit of flexibility and personalization, especially when it comes to adding a touch of sweetness. While some people can tolerate a bit of maple syrup or honey without a significant insulin response, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. For those keeping a close eye on insulin levels, allulose is a fantastic option that brings sweetness without the spike! 😊

      @bethwood765 Thank you so much for your kind comment and for subscribing! 😊 Using allulose to avoid glucose spikes is such a great tip! The idea of brûlée-ing a bit for your husband sounds absolutely delicious-what a lovely touch! I'm so glad you're enjoying the recipe. Can’t wait to hear how it turns out for you both! 🍮💛

    Tasted like baked eggs ☹️

    • @severineskitchen
      @severineskitchen  27 днів тому +1

      Oh no! That’s such a bummer. It sounds like the egg flavor overpowered everything else, which can definitely happen with carnivore recipes. Maybe add a touch of seasoning could help balance it out next time? Let me know if you want any tips-I’d love to help make it a bit more enjoyable! 😊

      i mean, it IS in the title.. EGG pudding. it is really a basic recipe older americans use to make "baked egg custard". so yeah, it tastes like eggs.. it is SUPPOSED to taste like eggs.

    That's keto, not carnivore.

    • @severineskitchen
      @severineskitchen  Місяць тому +15

      The main ingredients in this recipe are derived from animal sources, which makes it suitable for a carnivore diet. If you prefer to keep it strictly carnivore, you can omit the vanilla extract. The carnivore diet does have some variations, and for many people, eggs and dairy are included within the definition of carnivore.
