Great reaction! Liked, subscribed and here is comment! Before I start, next song shouldn’t be a typical one. I recommend the unplugged live version of “I still love you“ if you want to hear Paul Stanley truly showing you his vocal range and the band stripped down, no Make up. This version of Detroit rock city was the version of the song off their greatest hits album called “double platinum“ overdubbed on top of some live video from 1977 The original studio version off their actual fourth studio album (fifth actual album, since their fourth album was a live recording - “Kiss Alive!”, much of it recorded live in Detroit since we were the first city they ever sold out a full arena - Cobo Hall - and we were hence given homage via the song) had a long intro of the sounds of someone going to a show, starting in their kitchen, going to their car, listening to a news report of a Pontiac Michigan youth being killed in a car accident. The song was actually inspired by a fan who died on their way to a Kiss concert, which didn’t happen in Detroit but Detroit was such a massive city for Kiss before any of the others, the song is dedicated to the motor city. Notably, the producer of the studio version of this song is Bob Ezrin, who also produced The Wall by Pink Floyd and many Alice Cooper albums and others. He was like a drill sergeant in the studio one recording his song, even bringing a whistle, calling them “campers“, and humbling the young and upcoming cocky rock stars into a dedicated become hungry studio team.
rock n roll all night party every day heavens on fire this song was after 2 of the band members left the band but it was still gene and paul and no make up
Realistically you guys should explore all their albums, song by song to get a deeper appreciation of the original line up of the band (SImmons, Stanley, Frehley and Criss). The next awesome era of the band is with the drummer Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick. I have listed some songs to pick from the original line up below: 1. Black Diamond 2. She 3. Duece (Midnight Special) 4. Calling Dr. Love (Rock and Roll over 1976) 5. Nothin' to Lose ( Kiss 1974) 6. Parasite (Hotter than Hell 1974) 7. Hotter than Hell (Hotter than Hell 1974) 8.Strangeways (Hotter than Hell 1974) 9. C'mon and Love Me (Dressed to Kill 1975) 10. Ladies in Waiting (Dressed to Kill 1975) 11. I Stole your Love (Love Gun 1977) 12. Shock Me (Love Gun 1977) 13. Love Gun 14. Almost Human 15. Dirty Livin' (Dynasty 1979) 16. Magic Touch (Dynasty 1979) 17. Charisma (Dynasty 1979) 18. Sweet Pain (Destroyer 1976) 19. Naked City (Unmasked 1980) 20. Ladies Room (Rock and Roll Over 1976).
