1Jn 3:4 Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
You see, Yahusha is referring to those who does not keep the law. The Lawless!
That would be the chrtistian, because they do NOT obey the commandments.

God created us in His image, but we are not perfect and holy as He is holy. Romans 3:23- "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." He has no reason to change as He is perfect, and I don't think funckycole21 was denoting staticity in his comment.

@@mitchellc4 Its possible that there will be no fireworks and no big golden chariots coming in the clouds. I think it will happen trough spirit. Our mind will expand and we will gain access to the lost chambers connecting us with higher realization also called God. The interpretations we follow could be very wrong and apart from the truth. There is no throne somewhere and you are not going to stand in front of it like a sheep to confess your sin. Its the metaphor for conscious which will haunt us at the end.

See for example the response of Mitchell below yours: he will quote Scripture until the cows come home in order to prove his Arian kind of heresy. My apologies if I wasn’t clear. Our Messiah told us to go share the truth with the world. And what I am trying to say is that man is deceived by false teachers, what Scripture also warns about.
So I make a comparison between truth and lies according to Scripture. Scripture being the truth and the theology of the church being the deception. Because the church does not teach obedience to the Word of our Father. It teaches that the Word changed and it is ok, to be sinners, because we can not be without sin. Either these are lies, OR our Messiah is a liar.
Would our Messiah say, “go and sin NO MORE” if it was impossible to be without sin?
Joh 8:11 And she said, “No one, Master.” And יהושע said to her, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”
Would our Messiah say “be perfect” if it was impossible?
Mat 5:48 “Therefore, be perfect, as your Father in the heavens is perfect.
This is such a shame, the church is taking the most precious gift away from man. Do you know why our Messiah insist on us being without sin? Because the Father does not hear sinners!
Joh 9:31 “And we know that Elohim does not hear sinners. But if anyone fears Elohim and does His desire, He hears him.
He only hears those who do His desire. What I am saying, Yahusha came to set us free from the bondage to sin. And this gift reopens the path to a relationship with the Father and Son.

People think that when Jesus came through the flesh ; died and was resurrected ; appeared before the Father for our sin s ; that the forgiveness for sin started at that point ; but they are 100 % wrong . Question , Did Abraham , Isaac , Jacob , David , etc ....... live and die before Jesus Christ came in the flesh ? If the answer is yes , how were they justified from sin ? These men wll be in the kingdom of God . The apostle Paul stated in Romans 3:23 , " For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God " ; So how can anyone before Jesus resurrection and appearing before the Father for our sins be justified ? In Romans 6:23 , " For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " . Jesus is the atonement for our sins , but most people do not realize , that this represents TWO TYPE OF SINS ; the sin of the first death that Adam put ALL of us under , the grave ; which is the free gift , nothing is required , even if you do not believe in Jesus . By sinning against the laws of God , Adam condemned the entire creation back to the dust of the ground ; for all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God . By living a righteous life , unblemlish without sin , Jesus was not worthy to die as we are ; so he died not for himself , but for ALL who have transgressed the laws of the Father ; which is given to ALL who have ever lived ; that how he defeated death , by overcoming sin . By defeating sin ; which brings on death , now ALL will be resurrected from their first tabernacle ( body ) , and live forever in their second tabernacle ( body ) ; but can we dwell with the Father , if we die in our first tabernacle in sin ? 1 John 1:5-7 , " This then is the message which we have heard of him , and declare unto you , that God is light , and in him is no darkness at all . If we say that we have fellowship with him , and walk in darkness , we lie , and do not the truth : But if we walk in the light , we have fellowship one with another , and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL SINS " . The free gift redeems you from the sins of the first death , the grave , but to dwell with the Father in his kingdom , something else is required . This is what Jesus Christ said , as he started his ministry in Mark 1:14-15 , " Now after that John was put in prison , Jesus came preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God , And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand :REPENT YE , AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL " . The God of Israel has always required that you repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart ( like king David did in Psalm 32 & 51 ) ; and believe by obedience ; which means to start keeping his laws/commandments/instructions ; which includes all covenants ; that's how you have faith with him , by obedience . The gospel that Jesus taught are the same words that Moses & the prophets gave in the scriptures ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ) . Jesus cant be God if he is the mediator between God and Man though... so if you believe what he said is true, you need to give up the trinity, or vice versa.

You do not get to pick and choose which verses you accept and which you reject. The truth is we are saved by grace through faith, not a result of works so that no man may boast! This is the best explanation I have heard on this subject. You could also come to the conclusion through John - “In the beginning was The Word and The Word was with God and The Word was God” Jesus Christ -The Word made man. So JC is an omnipresent eternal being that lived with the construct of time, matter, and space, and also outside of the physical realm. Which then brings us to The Trinity which is harder to explain in my opinion.

People error because they are not equipped with the one thing that God say we must have , FAITH . People think that when Jesus came through the flesh ; died and was resurrected ; appeared before the Father for our sin s ; that the forgiveness for sin started at that point ; but they are 100 % wrong . Question , Did Abraham , Isaac , Jacob , David , etc ....... live and die before Jesus Christ came in the flesh ? If the answer is yes , how were they justified from sin ? These men wll be in the kingdom of God . The apostle Paul stated in Romans 3:23 , " For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God " ; So how can anyone before Jesus resurrection and appearing before the Father for our sins be justified ? In Romans 6:23 , " For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " . Jesus is the atonement for our sins , but most people do not realize , that this represents TWO TYPE OF SINS ; the sin of the first death that Adam put ALL of us under , the grave ; which is the free gift , nothing is required , even if you do not believe in Jesus . By sinning against the laws of God , Adam condemned the entire creation back to the dust of the ground ; for all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God . Jesus Christ said when a demon finds a house empty he enters in . Well you just made my house full with truth as far back as Genesis . Righteousness, peace, joy . This man speaks through the spirit and not the flesh. And I understand it blessed be the name of the lord.

We must believe AND be baptized says Jesus Himself - Mark 16:16 This is for every creature both Jew and Gentile. Acts 2:38;10:48

I love Steve Lawson and Ligonier. Great video. On an attached subject. Could Ligonier or maybe even Dr. Lawson address the differing work of God the Holy Spirit under both Old and New Covenants? Obviously there's a difference. But especially in Reformed soteriology, where we affirm that regeneration precedes repentance and faith, it raises the question: Were OT saints "Born again" in the same sense as NT saints? In the OT we see much more the activity of God the Holy Spirit coming upon prophets and kings, etc. Much the way it seems His Apostle's ministered by the power of the Spirit in the gospels pre crucifixion. But after the resurrection when Christ breathes on the disciples the receive the Holy Spirit. This fulfilling Christ's promise that the Holy Spirit that was now with them(pre cross) would then be in them(post cross). So, is regeneration or being born again an act of the Holy Spirit separate and distinct from the indwelling of The Holy Spirit? Thanks for sharing your thoughts. God bless!

There is a difference between being *baptized* with the Holy Spirit and being *filled* with the Holy Spirit. We are never commanded to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, that's what happens to us when we are regenerated (remember the pentecost happened to them), but we are commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit which has to do with our Christian walk and not grieving the Holy Spirit but walking in righteousness, remembering that we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and we are temples of the Lord. After the ascension of Jesus the Holy Spirit was sent as a comforter to the elect, but before that the Holy Spirit was still actively involved in salvation, such as regeneration. I hope this helps to get you started in your studies on the subject. It's a wonderful topic that brings a lot of comfort and security to the believer.
The in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit is a result of regeneration.
What do you mean by "indwelt"? If you mean different levels or degrees of experience of the Holy Spirit's activity in your life, that is not what is meant by "indwell" To be indwelt with the Holy Spirit means that even when you are in sin the Holy Spirit is still inside you though perhaps "absent" for a while. Salvation means the moment you are baptised by the Holy Spirit, which then lasts forever - unless you believe that it is possible to lose your salvation.
God the Creator does not need a mediator, we simply pray directly to the Creator and he will save us.
Of course God does not need a mediator. WE need a mediator because we have sinned against the Almighty God. We are guilty before him even after only sinning ONCE. That is why we need to rely on Jesus Christ's shed blood as an atonement for our sins. Without the blood of Jesus Christ that he shed for our sins on the cross, we would all be found guilty before God. We rely on his blood, and the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ to be saved.

@@hlokomani That's ok you don't have to. But you are still lost. When Scripture speaks of 1st to the Yahudi(Jew) the to the gentile, it refers to the lost YIsraelite amongst the gentiles. Our Messiah did not come for the gentile, but for the lost tribes of the House of Yisrael, who were dispersed amongst the gentiles.
See for yourself, Yahusha only came for Yisrael:
Mat 15:24 And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
and next you well see where He sent His disciples:
Mat 10:5 יהושע sent these twelve out, having commanded them, saying, “Do not go into the way of the gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Shomeronites,

First of all. I find it funny how you managed to take Mat 15:24 out of its context. Jesus DID help the Canaanite woman’s daughter. Because she had faith. That’s whole point of that passage.
You can’t isolate Mat 10:5-6 from Mat 29:16-20. Let alone the whole book of Acts that is acting on the great commission of Mat 29:16-20, emphasis on ALL NATIONS (aka Gentiles). It’s very dangerous when you fail to look at the totality of scripture to fit your own agenda. YES, Jesus did come to the Jews. They rejected him. Have you not read Malachi 1:11-15? Yahweh addressing Israel for not representing him to the nations, and He ends by telling us His plans will never fail and He will be feared among (listen) THE NATIONS.
If you do a word study on גּוֹיִם (Gentiles) you find that when translated from Hebrew it means NATIONS. Specifically non-Jews, outside of the Israelite nation.
Another important point in this discussion is that the Bible never indicates that gentiles (the nations outside of Israel) were outside the scope of his reign. He rebukes Gentiles in the Bible (Ezek 25-32;Amos 1-2) and uses them to deliver judgement over the nation of Israel. This is why in Ephesians 1:5 it highlights that we (Gentiles) were PREDESTINED for ADOPTION into Him. Yes we are not the nation Yahweh made a covenant with, but because of his grace he predestined us for adoption into his kingdom.
Apostle Paul answers this exact discussion in his letter to the Romans. Rom 3:29, read it.
I urge you, in love, to consider the TOTALITY of the scriptures before you try and call people out with your cherry picked ones. That’s a very dangerous practice that can even start cults like the Mormon church. Let scripture interpret scripture. The transgression is, the Christian does not obey the Torah/Law of Yahuah. I can’t tell them any different than that they are on the wrong path. That would be lying!

Our Messiah’s Name is not Yeshua, Yeshua means salvation and Yahusha means “Yahuah saves”.
Your understanding of Gentiles are wrong. When Scripture refers to the nations it refers the lost tribes of Yisrael, which are scattered amongst the nations. I’ll try a short explanation:
The understanding of the two houses is essential to understand Scripture.
The Scripture is all about Yahuah the Father and His Son Yahusha. AND the people of Yisrael. That’s it!
Yahuah’s people Yisrael are the seed of Abraham and the 12 tribes of Yisrael(which is all of Yisrael) from Yaqo’ob(Jacob).
Yisrael persistently disobeyed Yahuah and Yahuah warned He will punish them. But they continued in their idolatry and Yahuah split the children Yisrael (12 tribes) into two Houses, Yisrael and Yahudah. He gave them a certificate of divorce:
Jer 3:8 “And I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Yisra’ĕl had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Yahuḏah did not fear, but went and committed whoring too.
The house of Yahudah consisted of the tribes of Yahudah, Benyamin and some Levites(for the priesthood). And the House of Yisrael were the left over 9 tribes and Levites(for the priesthood).
They continued in the sinful ways and Yahuah punished each house with their punishment. The Southern tribes(the House of Yahudah) were exiled to Babylon in 605- 586 BCE and a remnant returned to Yahrushalayim in 536 BCE. These were the Jews present when our Messiah Yahusha walked the earth.
The northern tribes were punished 390 years, and Yahuah warned them if they continue in their sinful ways He will increase their punishment with 7. And this He did. They were exiled to the Assyrian lands in 721 BCE.
When our Messiah Yahusha came to earth, He came for the lost tribes of the House of Yisrael. He did not come for the gentiles or pagan. But His people Yisrael were scattered amongst the gentile nations. That is why He said:
Mat 15:24 And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
Yahusha told His disciples not to go in the way of the gentiles, but to go seek find and return the lost tribes of Yisrael:

So what you will find, many Christians are of the lost tribes of Yisrael spread over the world. Also Yahudim/Jews.
There is no law for the Jews/Yisrael and another for the sojourner/stranger/gentile, which would be the Canaanite woman you refer to. Yahuah wants all to be saved, but this means all must become Yisrael. There is only ONE Law, the Torah of Yahuah.
Exo 12:49 “There is one Torah for the native-born and for the stranger who sojourns among you.”
All of Scripture applies, not just the writings of Shaul/Paul. Even Shaul said to Timmothy:
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is breathed by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness,
2Ti 3:17 that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.
Yisrael is not the people who live or are born in Yisrael. Yisrael means “overcome with EL”. Those are the Hebrews, which means “to cross over”. As a child of Yahuah, obeying His Commands, you overcome with Elohim and cross over to a Torah observant lifestyle.
Your entry permit to spend eternity with Yahuah, is the obedience to His Commands.
Rev 22:14 “Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city.
There are no gates for Christians, Islam, Buddhist or atheist. But only for the children of the 12 tribes of Yisrael:
Rev 21:12 and having a great and high wall, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve messengers, and names written on them, which are those of the twelve tribes of the children of Yisra’ĕl:
Read Rom 11 to learn about becoming engrafted into Yisrael, to be saved. We are saved through our obedience to Torah:
Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him,
This grace teaching(being saved as a sinner), is a lie. Grace is not what saves us. Through our obedience to Torah we receive the Spirit of Yahuah:
Act 5:32 “And we are His witnesses to these matters, and so also is the Set-apart Spirit whom Elohim has given to those who obey Him.”
And that is grace, because through the power of Yahusha in us we are able to overcome sin.
Grace is not a license to sin, neither our Messiah nor the Father can live within a sinner, they can not dwell in darkness. But cleansed and purified, we love Him and Guard His Word, The Father and Yahusha will make their stay in us:
Joh 14:23 יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him.

My only question now is how did it happen with the OT saints as they weren’t in-dwelt by the Holy Spirit? They weren’t sealed like we are. Was it then therefore works based in the sense it was their own strength that carried them through?

I agree with all that Mr Lawson said but when I have shared this with others previously I often get a follow-up question that I am unable to answer.
The old testament saints believed in the coming Messiah and through the old testament sacrificial system they understood how he would atone for their sins. But, unlike our present state, at that time the atoning work on Calvary had not been completed. What then was the state of the old testament saints prior to Christ completing his atoning work? We're their souls in heaven, in some suspended state, or what is your understanding.
If somebody does have clarity on this question, please support your answer with biblical references.

no one is in heaven.. they are all in purgatory or paradise..no one is in hell.. they all may or may not be in the same place.. these places are non judgemental places of rest until the final judgement in the future..

On the cross, Christ said to the repentant thief that he would be in paradise with Him that day. In the book of Revelation there are many references to the saints being in the presence of God and off the lamb prior to the final judgement, so I'm not sure how we are biblically at the view of purgatory. Happy to be corrected on that though, with scriptural references if you can help supply them.

Please clarify because I understand that what you do in THIS life affects where you spend eternity after that resurrection.
People error because they are not equipped with the one thing that God say we must have , FAITH . People think that when Jesus came through the flesh ; died and was resurrected ; appeared before the Father for our sin s ; that the forgiveness for sin started at that point ; but they are 100 % wrong . Question , Did Abraham , Isaac , Jacob , David , etc ....... live and die before Jesus Christ came in the flesh ? If the answer is yes , how were they justified from sin ? These men wll be in the kingdom of God . The apostle Paul stated in Romans 3:23 , " For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God " ; So how can anyone before Jesus resurrection and appearing before the Father for our sins be justified ? In Romans 6:23 , " For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " . Jesus is the atonement for our sins , but most people do not realize , that this represents TWO TYPE OF SINS ; the sin of the first death that Adam put ALL of us under , the grave ; which is the free gift , nothing is required , even if you do not believe in Jesus . By sinning against the laws of God , Adam condemned the entire creation back to the dust of the ground ; for all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God . By living a righteous life , unblemlish without sin , Jesus was not worthy to die as we are ; so he died not for himself , but for ALL who have transgressed the laws of the Father ; which is given to ALL who have ever lived ; that how he defeated death , by overcoming sin . By defeating sin ; which brings on death , now ALL will be resurrected from their first tabernacle ( body ) , and live forever in their second tabernacle ( body ) ; but can we dwell with the Father , if we die in our first tabernacle in sin ? 1 John 1:5-7 , " This then is the message which we have heard of him , and declare unto you , that God is light , and in him is no darkness at all . If we say that we have fellowship with him , and walk in darkness , we lie , and do not the truth : But if we walk in the light , we have fellowship one with another , and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL SINS " . The free gift redeems you from the sins of the first death , the grave , but to dwell with the Father in his kingdom , something else is required . The people in the OT probably had no clue what the Messiah would do on the cross, but hoped for a deliverer from enemies. The people in the OT were saved by grace, but not through faith! Paul says, "But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the Law, being confined for the faith that was destined to be revealed. Therefore the Law has become our guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian" (Gal. 3:23-25). You see they weren't justified by faith prior to Christ. Abraham was a prophetic type of this age of faith and justification.
There are 3 types of salvation - from penalty, power and presence of sin. This needs to be made clear.
