    Thanks man for the great in-depth review! I have subscribed! I think I am gonna buy. One point on your criticism of the position of the IEC power socket: Possibly Yamaha's decision to place it on the face panel was so that the mixer could be used and powered while still seated in the speaker mixer dock...a case of neatness and cable management from a different application perspective.

      Nolan Chiat Yep! I realized that recently when I used the speaker with the mixer still in the back. It’s handy to have a 1 foot 1/4” cord for those situations.

    Hi! Is it usable at home? ... Small studio levels.. I have to recommend it to an artist that'll do shows with it, but wants to be able to playback music or recordings at home...
    Is it usable at low levels?

    I wouldn't worry about running a TS cable for a long distance, provided that it's an actual speaker cable of sufficient gauge and not an instrument cable. A speaker cable is designed to carry an amplified line signal, so any noise that it picks up along the way should be insignificant in comparison.

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  4 роки тому +1

      I made sure to order speaker cables and not instrument cables. Haven't had any issues yet and I just ordered some longer 50' cables.

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  5 місяців тому

      I would say no. The monitor out jack is a balanced TRS whereas a headphone jack is not. You might get audio out of your headphones but it won't work correctly as it's not a proper stereo output for headphones.

    Nice review! For a performing artist (singer/songwriters) can you connect a floor monitor? Or are the speakers the monitors?

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  5 років тому +2

      There is a separate monitor out to plug in a floor monitor. The floor monitor must be powered or you need to use a separate amp. The amp in the built in mixer of the StagePas 600BT only powers the two speakers that come with it. But I'll note that you cannot mix a separate monitor mix. The monitor mix is what is coming out the mains.

    Good review, Qs about the feedback suppression, could a band now have both main speakers behind them and not have feedback from the mics?

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  3 роки тому +1

      I'd say probably not. Maybe at lower volumes but I wouldn't trust it at higher volume levels. I'm not sure how exactly the feedback suppression works in this system.

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  3 роки тому +1

      I kind of wonder if it just adjusts the EQ. Or if it really finds feedback frequencies and notches them out.

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  3 роки тому

      I think the EMX2 has been discontinued. You'll have to look at the EMX5 or EMX7. I'd go with the EMX7 just to have the extra power available. Should have no issues using that with JBL speakers. Which speakers do you have?

    i just bought this and love it..but i have a question. im a solo acoustic performer, and when going on break my old pa had a "break" button without having to turn power off so i could disconnect guitar. is there a way to do that on this unit without turning power off?

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  3 роки тому +1

      These things are great! I currently own 3 of them but the one downside of "All-In-One" gear is that the features tend to be a little light. The mixer is a classic example. It's very basic. You don't get channel mutes, break button, full EQ, gain knobs, etc. My recommendation would be to set your guitars volume to a specific spot (perhaps the arrow at 1 o'clock. Then mix everything else around your guitar. Then when you go on break just turn the volume down on your guitar channel and unplug. When you come off break all you have to do is bring it back up to the arrow.

      You can use any sub you want with it but just know the Stagepas crosses itself over at 120Hz so to have a smooth crossover point you should use a sub that has a variable crossover so you can set it at 120Hz.

      Works great with my small band. We primarily use it for vocals, but we have run a guitar in there too and there’s plenty of room for another instrument if needed. Our amps for our instruments are loud enough, but they don’t have the quality of sound that the vocals need, which is where this system excels!!

    If I want someone talking so much, as he shows facts on it, I can go to politics and speak over speak over speach.
    But I want a sample of the equipment, what it sounds, what are the features of a model and which components are passing through it, and makes this more useful.
    Or some hacks, how I can work.
    But thanks for your time!

    • @TheAngrySoundTech
      @TheAngrySoundTech  4 роки тому +5

      If you want to hear how something sounds you should get an in person demo. I do not record audio demos because they are only as good as your computer speakers or headphones or my microphone. If you want a rundown of features read the manual. I always get annoyed when I click on a video saying it's a review and all they do is read the features from the manual. I can read so I don't need to watch a video for that. On my channel I give my personal thoughts on gear from my perspective as a DJ/Sound Tech/Rental Company. Some videos are my initial thoughts on pieces of gear and some videos are my long term use reviews. I'll probably do an updated extended use review of this item soon as we now have multiples of these and they go out almost every weekend.
