Gotta love the spool gun. So much faster than Tig... Like 50x faster.

Nice work ! You can see why these completed jet boats can sell for over $20k . The hours of work involved are extensive. I might be out on building one.

Have you considered getting some toughened glass made up for the windscreen?
Will be much harder wearing so you can have wipers keeping the glass clear of spray.
....I mean you can put wipers on plastic windscreens but they scratch it all to hell fairly quickly. Plastic also fades, yellows & crazes once exposed to the sun for a few years.
I had a 4ftx3ft custom piece of toughened glass made up for my UTV. With corner radii cutting plus about half dozen holes it was around £100 so I'd imagine your three small bits wouldn't be much different from that.

I'm just using what came with the kit at the moment. I was wondering how some of these guys build them and use wipers without scratching the lexan. Might be something I look into in the future. Thanks!

You might want to eventually put something in between the stainless hinges and aluminum to prevent galvanic corrosion. Rubber or plastic spacers or washers work well, but there are other ways too.

Wow, amazing work so faar!! ^^ You should deffinately get a fresh air mask for welding aluminum though, that's the most poisonous gas you can get from welding 😬 Stay safe man!

I am wearing a respirator, you can't see it under the welding mask. Thanks for watching!

Have you tried running those outside corner welds vertical down? I’ve found with steel I can fill the joint nicely and not have to grind them for a smooth finish

I have better luck going up with aluminum.

You have certainly done a lot of work up to now. Are you going to paint any part of the boat?

Nice progress. How much does it weigh at the moment (without the motor)? Is that something you have kept an eye on?

    • @MakingStuff

The pallet weighed 965 pounds when the trucking company delivered it. Other than that, I have no idea. Thanks for watching!
