What is your lead time generally from order to delivery on a 13' boat? Also does your asking price include a trailer? Thanks for sharing your knowledge as well.
I’m not really building any minis right now. I don’t have time with all the race boat builds going on. I do have one 3.0M RSRacecratt kit and a Kawasaki 1100 2-stroke for it that I’m going to try to build later this spring.
@@JollyRoger907 Gotcha, I would need something a little larger so four could ride. If I purchased a kit would you be willing to weld it together and if so "about" how much would your labor cost? Thanks for the quick response back as well.
@@JollyRoger907 I apologize for my ignorance I'm new to the world of mini jet boat. Im not going to pay 60k for a new boat with all the bells some builders are charging. I'm not saying their boats aren't worth I'm just not that buyer. I'm going to beat the hell out of it or it might go the other way as I've seen in some videos but either way I don't want to worry if my wrap got scratched ect.. Thanks again for the info I'll reach out to RSRacing about a pre-welded shell.
I built my jetstream my self have the 4 seat model and bought a 2020 doner Sea door supercharged ski I have right at 22 thousand in mine start to finish and add 1200 for vinyl wrap and foam floor.
Great video, ive been building a 12' Cope hull over a few years, and ive got close to 25,000 cdn into it so far. I figure with lighting, headsets, megasquirt gauge, ecu, paint and little bits im another 7k away.
Dude I built my jet stream boat same as you take a little advice raise up you electronics you have them to low in the hull it does not matter how good your bildge pumps are you will have water in your hull especially if you blow a carbon seal and make sure everything has dielectric grease in everything.
It really blows me away, people's ideas that it's ok to pay a "professional" company that huge mark-up but you should donate your time, material, vision and equipment. I studied, drew, scaled and built models of my boat that sad to say, I copied someones design because I couldn't justify $72k for their finished product. So I've got $7k in aluminum including crimps. Over 100 hours of modeling and drawing. A couple hundred hours in design building transom, bow rise, bow curve, longitudinal layout and cross bracing. 40 pounds of wire and another 30 to go. Let's just throw in the 2 to 3 hundred in abrasives because they give that stuff away. Add on $17k for a 250hp motor, another $10k for paint, hydro turf, steering, latches, wiring, pumps, grafts, and power poles. $1600 in seats. Yeah, could have paid that extra $32k and been fishing in it right now. What I couldn't do is pull into the boat launch and be able to say, "yeah, I never built a boat before but this is my first attempt." Priceless. So let them blow holes in the hull of their attempt and then come back and say you're too high. You're cutting yourself short on fab skills and missed time with the girlfriend in that sexy Vette. Keep doing what you're doing man. 99% can't.
Damnit . I'm in the process of building a 103 fixed wing ultralight. I hope to have it in the air by the end of the year. I think I know what my next project is.
How much are the super modified boat's love your channel hope your business is going well Garrett is a great guy THANK YOU FOR the information GODSPEED
I do everything with a handshake. If something I build obviously fails, I fix it. If you hit a rock and sink your boat or blow up your engine, that’s on you.
I'm currently building a belite Ultracub. Next I'm gonna build a jetboat. Its crazy that boat regulations seem stricter than airplanes. But then I only fly 103
Great information. I really want one of these and plan to get one when I'm financially able. I may get in touch with you and have you build it as you seem to be a straight up matter of fact person, as I like to think I am and appreciate most in a person! As Always, May God Bless you and yours!
I plan on using a 16' aluminum V bottom aluminum boat that I picked up for 650 to save some money. I would really like to spend more money on a supercharged Rotax to drop in it
Yeah, true. It might also not be worth that much to someone else. So they say ok, this to me is worth 8k that's what I'd pay, otherwise I'd rather not buy it. And then the seller gets butthurt because he's in 35k, 1200 hours plus a whole lot of tears. But that's really the sellers problem, as a potential buyer I can and will tell you what it's worth, to me. No disrespect. Also, I want a good deal, I want to pay less than it's worth. So what?
I prefer wood. I have a 1920's design I modified slightly. Decided I would like to water jet power it. That lead me to search, and your video. It's not your fault it didn't help me. Keep on keeping on.
I wouldn’t have the SHO Yamaha motor if you are talking about the sho Taurus from 1996-1999. Maybe 97-99. The cams go flat at 100k or less & they use to be 5g in 2001
JR, YOU sure got the resume. appreciate the 3$ a lb figure, cuz I can't seem to get my welder to ball-parkmy material list Man I'd really like to get together, and talk (listen) boats a bit. Thought pre-covid about introducing a unique American brand. But with markets going who knows where, and my research incomplete things ended on the back burner. Wth spring, I've got the itch. I'd like to bounce a couple of thoughts off your experienced practical side, to see if I'm being realistic or off the mark ie: I was ball-parking strong second-hand 4stroke HP, with pretty slim rigging, and minimal but unique aesthetics to market shy of 20k. that was 14 months ago though, I felt being clearly under UTVs was a good target. clearing 33% all-in was a must too. Wow the high side of 20s, seemed a stretch. but I'm learning, trying to figure what's possible. Yet, the numbers are, what the numbers are, especialy in the "One Off" crafted business. Right? I will keep a whatch- I've got a little background myself. some hard learned skills, a little aged maturity, and a wee bit of cash too. ...Sort of looking for a semi-retirement gig, where passion drives the day! 🤔 😘 Really nice work! and reasoning... jd from south SoonerLand 😎 ~wink?
The video say what it cost to build jet boat but thats not even close to what you are talking about ... i wish UA-cam people would get straight to the point instead of talking your ear off ... Some UA-camr's do but not much that is what i look for not people that talk instead of work on the matter ....
He put the time in to make the video and answered every question in detail. The dude builds boats not videos. Constructive criticism is good but being a pissy bitch about it is lame. Thanks for making the video otherwise instead of getting your years of experience condensed into 15 minutes I'd be doing days of research. I'm in my mid 20's pretty good at fab just was interested in it and this is damn consice for me partner answered questions I wouldn't have even known to ask. People got no concept of the value of experience and information these days. Hope it's still going well partner thanks for the video.
I love these boats, wish I had one.. but also would really be nice if you filmed in landscape mode :(
Lol I never even thought about that...think I’ll give it a try! Thanks for the input!
Currently laughing my ass off, thanks for that
