Cooking on a Budget! A Healthy-ish Dollar Tree Grocery Haul.

- I was recently watching a video of a small town in a rural area and the mayor talked about how he was in talks with Dollar General to come to their town. The nearest Walmart was far away and they only had a small gas station store.
One thing I have learned from UA-cam is that not everyone has access to healthy food options where they live for various reasons. That does not mean you can't make the best out of what you have. x
If all you have is a Dollar Tree or Dollar General, then you really don't have the luxury of saying you will never eat from those stores. They serve a purpose for more people in this country than we are comfortable admitting. So, whether you're trying to save money, on a tight budget, or only have access to a value brand store, you can still find options that will allow you to eat as healthy as you're able to.
Do the best you can until you can do better!

They closed our local dollar tree. It helped feed a lot of people. There is nothing wrong shopping there these days it's so crazy expensive everywhere. Love your haul
That whole milk is great for cooking. Just add butter to it to make your heavy cream.

Yes. I try to stick with the $1.25 items. The smoothie starters were a great deal at $1.25

Inflation is absolutely ridiculous! Whatever you can do to cut costs is good!

@Tonioutloud I usually go to Aldi's or fruit & vegetable stand to get everything and make my own smoothies. But it I get this it will be better time management

This all looks great! I'm always surprised at the food options at Dollar Tree. I always grab the Snyder's pretzels when I'm there. I saw the hot sauce last time I was there and took a picture to see what my husband's thoughts about them were

Healthy tip find noodles thats not enriched. Thats just additives that makes us gain weight. I switched to organic pasta i found at aldi or food lion. My daughter is finally at her weight goal she was looking for for track.

Some stuff is cheaper elsewhere. You have to know your prices. Most DT food I won't eat. Check and see if the frozen vegetables are USA. Some are from China. I know these days it is tough. TFS
The beans were def cheaper elsewhere but sometimes spending the time shopping around isn’t worth it. I just didnt feel like it that day
