These videos have the ultimate vibe:
Cool guy with long hair,
Vintage fender guitars,
Blues,
Calm voice,
Awesome playing,
And a bunch of natural colors
No doubt about. He's a rising star for sure!
@@eltigre8978 if there’s a new Hendrix or SRV it’s him
Fearless!
Yep, I do appreciate the calm delivery.
@@bobross5580 haha that's what I was thinking.
That thing sounds amazing. Swapping out the frets like it was easy. Respect!
Thank you Dan🙏🏻✌🏻
When the saw came out I got nervous!
Matt makes it look easy! I wouldn’t want to try it - especially on something as old and lovely as that Esquire!
Damn you're brave to refret this old lady by yourself ! I would have been so scared ^^'
The Dark Circuit sounds great! Can you please post the stats on the components used for it? Also a diagram for the wiring?
You should let stumac know what you are up to. This could be one of their promos. They'd probably shoot you free tools.
Ah I wish😫 that would be so cool, I've already spent so much there🤣
With all your knowledge of, set ups, re frets, neck setting and guitar maintenance, have your ever thought about building your own Guitar? It would be my ultimate goal to build my own Guitar.
@@MatthewScottmusic If they don't go to LMI instead. They will!
communication breakdown(0:00) and dazed and confused(9:31) hahaha great to hear a led zeppelin riff from you
The sound is so good.
Sound Great. It's also how you play It. Your touch it's smooth and nervous at same time. i I like it. Seems like you play in a different way as the guitar ask to play, I suppose.
I just want to say I love you Matthew. Your videos are so laid back yet so well put together, they give me a vibe that no other UA-camr has. Also I've been really addicted to your song "mirrors". Please don't stop making music, you truly are a gift.
Miles, that means so much thank you. 🙏🏻✌🏻
i can say the same about Matthew!! his videos gives me a vibe that no other channel has
im 15 years old, im learning by myself how to play this syle of music....im a huge fan from Brazil!!
Was literally just looking to see if you posted anything new yesterday and then low and behold you bust out this video moments ago.. Your talent amazes me man, very inspiring. No favorite as they all sound sweet to my ears!
Everything about your content is pure class
That Bridge tone is all you need. Outstanding video as always. Thanks for showing the refret!
I am impressed with your skill level both playing and managing this classic piece of American Art and history. Thank you for the videos!
You are getting good at all of the "really hard repairs" on guitars. Bravo!
That sir was awesome. You are one seriously talented player. With great taste in guitars to match
Wow, what a great video! Your playing is so down to earth and has so much soul! Thanks for all of your hard work making these videos!
Another great video! You breathe new life into these vintage instruments! Thanks for sharing!
Fabulous sounding!!!!! Great job
I'm always amazed by how much effort is there in these videos. Top tier stuff as always!
Believe me it took many hours🤣
Dude, you just bring vintage Guitars back to life. Cool videos as always, brother!
This little Zeppelin intro ahh so Classic ✌🎼
Well done Mr Scott 👏 beautiful vintage tele by the way 👌
I love that guitar and your playing is the balls.
Thanks for uploading Matthew, you’re my favorite channel on UA-cam 👍
Loved all these incredible restorations Matthew and your great playing. What makes these videos great though, is the love and empathy you have for the instruments. You genuinely care. This is all done as well without a big 'look at me' ego ! I love many of the same the artists as you and have bought some nice guitars over the years, just playing at home. These videos have inspired me to practice a little more, truth be known and just enjoy playing again, however badly ! The sound/video quality and editing are top notch....Keep 'em comin' !! Peace.
I really appreciate your taking us thru the refret process. What a guitar, sounds great.
The refretting sequence is top notch. Well done.
I've wondered why people can't mod the too-dark sound on that switch position, and it turns out they can. And it sounds great. I also love that super-bright bridge position sound. Slices your head off, but in a good way!
Cant even begin to tell you how impressive your videos are! Nicely done! And keep it up!
Love to see these old guitars getting the care and attention they deserve. Sounds awesome!
Esquires are underrated!
Esquires are the best
No truss rod?
@@lllULTIMATEMASTERlll There's a truss rod. It was installed into the maple neck prior to the rosewood fretboard being glued on. Hence, no skunk stripe on the back of the neck or telltale walnut plug above the nut. Important to note there were variations over the years, but for the vast, vast majority of pre-CBS Fenders with rosewood fretboards, that's how it was done.
I love my tele bridge pup through the Marshall 800. My favorite addiction.
@@anthonyc1883 Oh thanks for letting me know. I was under the impression that all Esquires lacked a truss rod. This is good news and makes me like the Esquire more!
10:35 what a lick!
btw the fretwork is so satisfying to watch
Nice to see you working on this sweet Esquire. You play it like it's been with you for years. Strong work, Matthew.
What a nice guitar! Great to see people like you keeping these old guitars alive.
Esquires are like Leslie West's unknown Mountain JAM
Man, that work on the dark circuit was incredible! It just sounds amazing.
What capacitors did you use?
Awesome restoration of an awesome sounding guitar! I was very impressed with your careful and skillful workmanship throughout the process. Very nice work!
Once again a great video! Thanks for letting us be a part of this journey!
Yes! I’m early to a Matthew Scott video!
And??
The bridge straight out sounded a lot like Brian May’s Red Special. Listen to Queen’s It’s Late from News of the World. What do you guys think?
Was thinking the same thing.
Not really.
Please make more videos like this, so cool. Love seeing the repair work transform the guitars
Videos like this... really encapsulates what I love about this channel. It's about playing guitar, but also about working on the guitar, which is a big part of the fun with these instruments.
Great video and playing! just curious, why do you apply solder to the old frets rather than just touching the soldering iron to them?
yeah i wondered that
I've been wanting a Esquire for a long time. Thinking about the Brad Paisley Esquire or modding a Fender.
@Boris Johnson lol
@Boris Johnson well said Boris
@Boris Johnson wise words haha
Do it. An esquire is different than a tele. You'd have to modify a Telecaster to get these sounds.
Best refret vid I’ve seen on UA-cam. Simple, masterful. Excellent job, man!
Awesome video as always. Love hearing you play as much as seeing the vintage fender goodness. Keep the vids coming!
The not so ¨dark¨ circuit sounded really good. What values did you use? What a badass guitar!
I also would be very interested to know. It sounded almost like Hendrix's tone on Wind Cries Mary, very strat like. Seriously, Leo Fender smashed it with that circuit, so many tones from one pickup.
I think that the capacitor in the dark circuit was changed sometime in the late 50's to let a little more treble through. Don't recall the values off hand.
.001 orange drop works great. .0047 for the cocked wah Eldred/Arlo mod.
Is basically the Eldred mod as mentioned below.
Kudos ! This restoration has been SO professionally done... This is one of the best sounding Esquires I've ever heard ! 👏🏻🎸👍🏻
YES MATT!! This is the type of Video I love, thanks for bringing us with you for the work on the guitar!! Peace
One of your best demos, you're really honing your sound man. The Tele sounded so much clearer and more resinent after the fret job. Thanks for showing us the differences and the result.
This is possibly the greatest sounding Tele/Esquire I’ve ever heard!
Congrats on a great find, excellent renovation and a blistering demo!
I didn’t think I could get more exited than I already was when clicking this video, then you started to play a segment from Communication breakdown!
You did a great job with this one. More tones than I thought possible with one pickup.
That middle position sounds great. Thanks for another awesome vintage guitar video!
I love it man ..the guitar and the playing.,I've been playing over 40 yrs I began learning theory 3 yrs ago and I'm happy to say I can play my own solos now..thanks for the inspiration
Great playing and sound as usual! Keep up the good work!
This guitar deserved to have such a good player ! Hope you’ll make more videos with it and have fun as well thats what it’s all about !
Love it Matt. This may be my favorite guitar you've shown us!
I agree, this guitar has the classic fender sounds, nice fret job. I used to buy/sell guitars in the flea mkts in the Sacto valley for yrs 1992-2015
Absolutely brilliant!
That is THE TONE I’m chasing on one of my Esquires!
Absolutely! Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
I love it! Thanks for your videos, they are wonderful.
Sounds so amazing . Really great playing.
Sounds amazing. Especially on the clean tones
Loved the video! Great sound and always fun to watch.
Your videos are the ones I look forward to the most, you always deliver man!
That dark circuit sounds so good, amazing guitar and great work you did on those frets!
Solid videos and great guitars, always super stoked when a new one pops up in my feed. Amazing work on the Esquire.
So much tone out of a simple guitar. I love it!!
You have come a long way on the road to guitar repair, doing amazing work there Matt, thanks for the video.
Excellent job Mathew, and thanks to Nick as well
Nothing like great frets on a fantastic old instrument to bring it up to speed. Well done!
Love the detail in your videos! You make pulling and replacing frets look easy.
Thanks for working so hard on these videos. Looks like you’re getting very good at fret jobs. Incredible bite on that tele. 👍✌️
Love ya work mate, great job with a great effect on bringing this real vintage guitar back to life.
Incredible! Great tones. Fantastic playing, bro! 🔥
Amazing video as always!
I love the whole thing! The guitar, the playing, and taking us along on the repair. It would be great to see a shopping list for someone wanting to get started with refretting. Thanks!
Love your playing, very clean. The Fender sounds great.
Great guitar, great playing. Always good to see your videos.
That’s an amazing guitar. Love your videos, you inspire me to bring old beat up guitars back to life
Brilliant video, brilliant playing and sound!! enjoyable watch
Great job, so enjoyable. Matty Scott is the man.
Incredible demo Matthew, you have done justice to that Esquire by showing its versatility 🤟
Great video, just the right amount of process shown. Love watching your stuff.
Great video as always, Thank You Dude! That Esquire sounds fantastic
Awesome informative video once again. I appreciate the time you take to share your guitar knowledge and Lutheran skills with use. Guitar sounded incredible.
Thank You, for another awesome video! Amazing tones!
Great video Matthew!
One off your best videos dude brilliant
Man I was just watching that fiesta red hardtail video you posted about a year ago and then this came up. It’s a good day.
Super great to precisely see how you changed the frets, thanks a lot as always really great video !
Love the vibe in this video. A lot of music, super cool shot of the repairs with sparse but interesting bits of info. Good work this esquire sounds unreal !
Great tones and great playing Excellent vid, Matthew. Thanks
That Esquire sounds fantastic Matthew! Nice work and great playing.
Great video Matt, love your stuff.
So nice to see this beauty come back to life.
Great video, one of your best in my books Matthew.
Fine work on a beautiful guitar ✌
Loving the sound! Definitely an awesome sound. Paired with your playing, it just sounds amazing.
"Cuh-muni-cay-shun Breakdown!" Just had to go straight to Spotify to listen to some Zep!
Great looking and sounding Esquire. And was half expecting to hear you say, "And now, some soothing ASMR for your listening pleasure" as you began or saw out the fret groove. 😏
Fantastic job, would live to see more such repair jobs. Mahalo!🤙
Great job, man! Sounds awesome!!!!!
Love this tone... the real wear and look only add to the vibe and overall package!
Looks and sounds amazing!
