@@jhaz89 I agree! I think Nick needed this opportunity to humble, and what a better way of that than to play a Wimbledon Championship match against Djokovic! He is maturing, and we haven't seen the last of him!
@@jhaz89 I don't know if I think Kyrgios was necessarily concerned only about Djokovic. If you look at their match history before today, Kyrgios wins over Djokovic 2-0 at other tournaments. I think it was a combination of Djokovic's experience on the big stage, and Kyrgios not having been this far in a major that was giving him doubt. I also think that missing the match against Nadal, although it would've been much harder for Nick, also killed some of his momentum at this tournament

Novak always looked in control, even in the first set. He's always a slow starter; and despite Kyrgios's fantastic serving in that set, Novak looked unfazed by it. Far too good.
@@rf10is Well, kinda. A power serve has a drawback -- in a grand slam final, there are much greater strains on the 'nerves.' Nick was uptight before the match, managed to calm down for the first set, then started to get uptight in the second, and remained uptight the rest of the match. A power serve is a very forceful action, and everything has to 'gel' for it to work. I've seen numerous power serves get 'tight' in a big final such as Wimbledon, and their serve to lapse after a very good start. Nick served rather well overall, except he had a number of momentary serving lapses commencing the second set (being uptight). This gave Novak confidence he could put the pressure on the power server, rather than the other way around. Through the entire match, Novak had the mindset to weather the storm and come out the other side.

If God were to create a tennis player from scratch, I am sure he would use Djokovic as the model. The guy literally has it all: Power, finesse, cat-quick reflexes, and an incredible mind that is always thinking 3 or 4 strokes ahead. And he never panics, even when down 2 sets to love.
The moment got to Nick. Some missed opportunities for sure. But some of the most incredible shots ever seen on Centre Court.
Nicks absolute trash. Aggressive, whiny, ignorant, vulgar, clearly got anger issues. I was so glad he lost

What a game! Congrats to both! Novak must be considered one of the greatest in all sports. What a classy person!
yes, much more so than Nick, unfortunately hey
Good, as well as it should be, Kyrgios is a brilliant player, don’t get me wrong, but he needed to be humbled. Congrats Djokovic on a stunning win.
Honestly I actually think he already was pretty humbled. He knew going in that it was unlikely he'd win. That's why after Djokovic won he was actually smiling. I think he was grateful to have just gotten to the final. He knew he dodged a bullet getting a free win in the semifinal against Nadal. So I don't really think he was actually humbled at all.

And he is not that young anymore too, i rather expect Berettini to reach another grand slam final, but this dude? This Wimbledon was simply an exception of the usual rules...
Honestly looking at the current competitive field you can kinda tell, who of those young gen players, who already made their first grand slam finals are going to be the ones to reach another one and may be even win it and Kyrgios is not amongst those...

Novak always looked in control, even in the first set. He's always a slow starter; and despite Kyrgios's fantastic serving in that set, Novak looked unfazed by it. Far too good.
With super strong servers, you have to patiently wait for their serving momentum to lapse, which Novak did.
@@electronwave4551 thats not really what happened tbh, Djokovic started to read and return the serve much better by mid 2nd set

Even these highlights were ridiculous... Novak won but somehow almost all the clips they decided to highlight were showing the opposite. Unreal
He behaves like a spoilt child.
In this specific case, I don't blame them since the match was mostly straightforward aces or serves and finishes on both sides, and of the many rallies in between, the ones where Kyrgios pulled a neat trick out of his hat were the flashier ones. Kyrgios' flashy style is highlight reel-type so no wonder this recap.
