You have a really solid stash here:) I would suggest maybe a few small prefolds. Some babies don't ever fit in size NB. It all depends on how much your baby weighs at birth. Size small is a great j vestment though. I prefer bamboo because it's way more absorbent. I use the small prefolds pad folded in a pocket diaper once baby outgrows it being snappi'ed.
Thank you! I appreciate the advice from someone with experience. I definitely think I'll get some small sized prefolds to complete my newborn stash. Even if they're too big when she's first born, she'll grow into them quickly, and there are so many uses for prefolds!
Agree having some bamboo helps alot.. I use my bamboo xs prefolds are boosters when they get older.. I use bamboo large flats but fst work well when they are small had tiny babies and flats were my best options... My babies 15 months 30 lbs and flats are still our best fit.. I love rumparoo nb cover then nicki diaper covers when they are older.. Its cheap and the best of both world double guessts and tuckable
I've been loving my rumparooz newborn covers. They still fit my son at 1 month old and did right away. My Thirsties size 1 didn't fit right away though. But the Blueberry Capri did. Great stash. I tried so many different newborn all in ones and honestly haven't loved any of them. Prefolds and covers are my favorite :)
Pretty good stash! Love the Rumparooz, Thirsties, and Blueberry covers! It is good to have variety for quick changes and emergencies. Great video. I'm interested in how the fitteds work for you.
Thanks! I'm interested to see how they all work out once baby is born too, lol! I'm planning on doing more cloth diaper videos once she's born so that I can review my stash. I'm curious about the fitted diapers as well.
I can tell you did your research, great fluff stash. How did it end up working? You'll definitely be able to use newborn prefolds again to stuff pockets for an older baby, and we always rotated our too big/too small prefolds to be the burp rags...they get plenty of use even if they only work as prefolds for a few weeks.
Thanks! It's actually been working really well, I'm very pleased :-) I'm planning on doing a video reviewing my stash in the next week or two. I'll say here, I'm surprised at how well the flower sack towels work as flats. I wasn't convinced that they would be absorbent enough, but I was wrong! Very cool way to cloth diaper for cheap! I'm excited for her to get older and to try different styles of diapers!
Cool! I'm planning on doing more videos after I've actually tried out my stash on my baby to sort of "review" it. I'm really excited to start cloth diapering :-) Thanks for the comment!
So did this end up working out for you? :) even the hanging wet bag? or did you find that you had to purchase more? also did you like the target flour sack towels, I bought some too for my first stash :)
I'm going to film a newborn stash review soon where I cover all of that in detail, but to give you a short answer, yes, it's all worked out nicely. That includes the hanging wet bag, the number of diapers, and the flour sack towels from target. I'll go more into detail in the video, thanks for the questions!
I highly recommend you get some booster. Newborns pee a lot and you may well find you don't have enough absorbency for nap time etc. I have 7 children. 6 of them have been in cloth and 5 from birth. I am currently using them on twins and have always needed boosters :). Also check out applecheeks covers. Sooo cute :) All the best from New Zealand.
Thanks so much for the tips!! I'm probably going to buy a pack of 12 of the next size up prefolds (small, yellow edge), so that would give me an additional 12. I was hoping that with the 2 fitted, and 2 all-in-ones I could get by with the 24 prefolds and flats, but you're totally right that I should have some extras on hand. I don't know why, but I'm so excited about starting cloth diapers! And hi right back to NZ. My parents lived in Aus for 3 years and they visited NZ. They loved it! I'd love to visit one day too :-)
The crib is actually a portable crib. It folds up, and is smaller than a traditional crib. Unfortunately I can't give you any more details than that because it was a hand-me-down from a friend! So I have no idea where it came from. I know it's older though because it has a drop down rail, which isn't allowed on new cribs. Sorry!
Haha, well, I'm not against disposables! I'm sure there will be times where I use them, but also, I talk about the main reasons I'm using cloth right in the beginning of the video. It's simply because I like them and have always wanted to use them :-)

What are boosters? Newbie here Learning about cloth diapers
May I ask what crib that is? It looks like just what I want for my little bean

Type1Mama ok, I plan to get a mini crib:) the regular sized ones take up way too much space
Why not disposable diapers?
They are horrible for the environment, full of nasty chemicals, and very expensive in the long run.
Haha, well, I'm not against disposables! I'm sure there will be times where I use them, but also, I talk about the main reasons I'm using cloth right in the beginning of the video. It's simply because I like them and have always wanted to use them :-)
