I've got Reebok Nano for gym/strength training and New Balance 860 for running.. 2 completely different shoes. I bought both within previous 6 months so fairly new still. My gut is to Hyrox train in the New Balance due to the amount of running (haven't run in a few years...). Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
For my first Hyrox in Barcellona I used Asics tri noosa 14 and they works well. They haven't a carbon plate but they are very light and flexible with a good grip
No one has been able to help me out on this, maybe this time's the charm: i am looking for a pair of all-rounder shoes but mostly for plyos (tuck jumps, high knees, side to side / imitation hops, etc.) so it needs to be cushioned but at the same time stable and preferably with a low to zero drop, because i care about the heel-to-toe alignment. I also train the sled push / pull and do some light lifting. Do you have any shoes to recommend other than the three in the video?
Hey Rich, thanks for the handy hints. Where are you measuring the 39mm from? Heal or middle of shoe? I Have the woman’s Brooks Glycerin 21 which are closer to 50mm side of heal and hoping not to have to buy another shoes just for Hyrox. They are high but quite wide and stable I think.
Four HYROX so far. Used the much-maligned Nike Tempos for two, PB with the Vapor 2 and one with the ASICS Metaspeed Edge+. Despite the PB, the Tempo is my favourite for HYROX. Great for 1K runs, wide in the heal for stability (Lunges, Farmers, even W-Bs) and good cushion for the broad jumps.
The turns are tighter for DEKAFIT so some of the higher stacked shoes might be tough to manage around corners. So I'd recommend something with a bit less stack weight.
I wouldn't recommend them the event. I have a pair and use them for non-running training. I know they are said to be "runners," but I think they perform pretty poorly while running. They are sturdy and have support, but the foam is not very good and the grip is not great.
Hello Rich! Regarding shoes, what would be you choice (and would it be different for both events?) for Deka Fit and Hyrox? Puma Velocity Nitro 2 or Deviate nitro elite 2? I'm going for my 1st Deka in June and 1st Hyrox by the end of the year 🤞
I think these would both work - I would do the Deviates for Hyrox and the Velocity would be a safer bet for Deka. The velocity have a little less stack which is better for the turns of deka.
I’m a huge fan. I wear them as my daily trainer. They would work great for Dekafit - they could work for Hyrox but I’d want the rubber to be completely fresh and new. They wouldn’t be my first choice.

Is a 2024 episode coming soon? There are some interesting new contenders!
Great idea for a video! Someone will be making specific shoes for Hyrox, soon!!
🤞

Nike Vaporfly 3 with its new spring, build and hugely improved grip is probably the best shoe for Hyrox now.
I'm very interested in trying them. The grip looks much improved.
@@RichRyan yep few of the elites now using them. Will be my shoe for next season as not gonna change from my deviate elites before world champs now.
I imagine the vaporflys will nmbe very difficult to run the bends, push and pull the sleds, Lunges and wall balls. Very unstable shoe...

@@SurfingVideoTunes from what I understand the Glycerin Max is stacked 39mm. But regardless, wear them if they feel good
Que gran video!!! muchas gracias desde España!!!
De nada!
Does stack height not help for being closer to wall ball target 😮😅

Yes!!! This is clutch.
Same goes for Spartan Deka too? Or just slightly different, since there’s no VERY-heavy sled push and pull?

Older video I know but what do you think of endorphin pro 4?
Hi Rich, any idea on Endorphin Speed? Kinda hard to get a Pro one here in HK😢
Hi! How about Novablast 4 or Hoka Mach X? 😅
Altra escalante racer?
Hi Rich, do you think of the
NO Bull Runner + is suitable for Hyrox

@@RichRyan thanks for your answer. Just bought a pair of Brooks Hyperions for € 90. Pretty good deal I think.

Thoughts on the new balance rebel V3?

Little bit late. Any Altra shoes recommended for Hyrox? Thanks
Hello, is the grip of the endorphin pro 2 as good as the pro 3 ? Thanks for the review
I don't think so - the grip on the 3's is a big improvement.
