Oh wow, I stayed in hospital for four days after my TT. I’m glad I had the doctors and nurses to look after me as I was experiencing a lot of pain due to the drainages. Could not have imaged to go home after a couple of hours.
Recovery can be tough, but our doctors and nurses always take great care of post-op patients when they need us! Especially with our day one post-op appointments and any emergency visits. We prioritize a steady and safe recovery!
We suggest waiting at least 4 weeks on weight lifting. Plus, make it a gradual return by starting off light. As always, check with your doctor for more information!
I have a question? I’m 7 mos post Tummy tuck. I’ve gained a few pounds and my abdomen has expanded a little with some fluid. What is your recommendation for getting my stomach flat again?
Funny that a man is stating how long this recovery is. Realistically it's 5 weeks until you will poop again, sleep on your side, or be able to sit on the floor.. it will take 2 weeks before you can even stand up on your own.
It does depend on how active you were prior to surgery and if you did get your abs reconnected. I'm happy when people say 2 weeks, everyone I've known that does this surgery, the first 2 weeks you're still in bed.
A week or two is not reasonable. I followed that tip and by doing more normal daily chores (still very light) I got a huge seroma from friction and had an entirely new and second surgery to correct this 8 weeks after my first surgery! My incision was completely opened and the lining roughed up to help with drainage. I woke up with two more drains in severe pain almost worse than the first time I am just past three weeks and still a long way from feeling like my old self so this doctor is very misleading!
Thank you so much for your interest in our video and your comment! We are sorry to hear that you had a difficult recovery period after your procedure. Each patient will recover differently given any number of variables; while individuals may need to adjust their specific postop care plan, we find our patients do very well with the guidelines we discussed in the video and provide them with during a consultation. Glad to hear you're feeling better!
I had a question, so Ive had 3 c-sections, would you say the recovery and pain level are close to the same with a tummy tuck? Im scheduled to get my tummy tuck in 6 weeks and a bit nervous about what to expect pain wise. My last c-section was exactly two years ago and I had healing complications with my incision that made me stay on bedrest for 3 months. Im just wondering if a tummy tuck is quite similar if anyone could answer Id appreciate it!
Thanks for answering Im currently still recovering from breast aug so i feel like i cant handle a tummy tuck after idk how girls do them same time. Im going to reschedule the tummy tuck i think but good to know it doesnt hurt as badly as csection because i really had hard recovery on my last csection
Hi! Tummy tucks are generally more uncomfortable than c sections from the feedback that we've received. Healing complications can vary from person to person and depends upon the specific situation. I would rely on the staff at the office to give you the best possible outcome. Your potential for complications depends on many factors, but if you are in good health going into the operation, then generally you will be in good health coming out of the operation!
Two & half weeks post op and I’m up and going. Still hunched over but feeling great!!

Doctor: I just had my tummy tuck 3 days ago and now I developed a hydrocele. Is this a common thing that can happen in males?
Hi there! If you have any questions or concerns regarding a procedure and post-op, we recommend contacting your surgeon's office.

I’ve had 3 c sections too and now on day 5 post tummy tuck. Tummy tuck is harder and more painful and uncomfortable. 😩
