- Well, today is a day for celebration as we finally cover the very first "Trophy" Grind on the channel! Playstation has entered the chat, and the first game is part of one of my favourite series of all time, but how does the grind fare? Well, it was so much more exhausting that I could have imagined...

I personally have always appreciated the subtitles since my hearing isn't the greatest and it helps to know what you are saying. I even have watched late at night on TV and don't want to have the volume loud and the subtitles always helped immensely

I feel the nostalgia already. I grew up on the old games on PlayStation and Nintendo, so this is right down my alleyway. Can’t wait to see more games on the other systems outside of computer games. I love the new Trophy grind!

This franchise is literally my childhood me and my dad would take turns playing it and we’d swap off whenever one of us would die and I always love it whenever a streamer/youtuber I watch plays it
Yes the OG rachet and clank has some brutal achievements well more time consuming than anything but its such a really good memorable game awesome weapons
love your videos jazzy, but your own subtitles I would say help me more as the UA-cam ones sometimes have no clue what someone is saying and your font was always nice and clear! but I do understand that will be more work, so it is up to you!
Def started watching due to algorithm but stayed due to accessable subtitles that are actually correct and timed right. Happy to hear you'll be keeping them!

Actually you need to complete the game 3 times in total to have enough bolts for all the gold weapons and RYNO. Farming bolts by doing the giant Clank battle is absolutely crazy. :D

Nostalgia hit me so hard. I remember having the clank game where rachet is in prison on psp. I have to find my psp and play it once again

I feel the reason these games feel so grind heavy, is because during their original time, we didn't have these systems... Bar the few games that had their own in-game versions. So I guess Insomniac just wanted to pick some random, tough things that they know you could do in the game when it hit PS3 etc... Also games on that era really loved their collectables.
My dad and I LOVED this game! I loved watching him play, and he would even call in sick to work to play all night. XD I remember having to help him get past the underwater part in Blackwater after I finally managed to do so. Feel like the first two games were the only good ones.
That star trek joke was top notch, that earned a sub. Especially playing my favorite series

Wow you are doing prey, I am playing it right now it is difficult and I am on normal mode but it is rewarding and so much fun to go through
It probably is a bad game to achievement grind(due to how long the game is to play), but I would like to see Factorio done. You do a great job at summarizing the story of games while showing the grind process.
Going Commando was my first platinum. The first game is by far the hardest platinum of the original trilogy.
The Clank sections were always my absolute favorite parts of the series.

I remember when I ground for bolts as a kid, I'd fly down to the gold bolt spot under the landing pad on Metropolis, then I'd just crouch, go first person, and spam the wrench throw at the flying cars overhead for a loooooong time.

Man the achievement grinds is extremely interesting as always. Kinda wonder what the title gonna be if Jazzy decided to grind Hi-Fi Rush or Final Fantasy X-2 or like Persona 5 Royal cause not gonna lie, the title of the achievement grind is always a joy to read and then guess what happens to make the title goes like that XD

Now, The question. Are you going to be doing the whole series, Only the first 4 games (Seeing as they were the ones you grew up with.) Or are you going to do the first 4, Then sprinkle the rest of the games here and there going forward?
Yep, the ENTIRE series, so gonna have a lot of R&C Content eventually haha! They're not going to be one after the other but I'm going to eventually cover them all!
I would love to see you do Nobody saves the world ! Great indie game with amazing music , good mechanics and some nice humor as well.
My favorite R & C is gladiator, I dunno about the story since I barely remember them. But the area, bots and ratchet himself are just so cool in that game.

For those of you attempting to do this in the future, I have a tip for practicing your hoverboarding. As he said getting the time requires a pretty skillful run of the entire course while using turbo the whole time. Falling off your hoverboard at the beginning doesn't really teach you much, my advice is to go through the course normally, get used to the controls, and then gradually add each thing in as you're confident with the last, it takes a little longer, but you want to pull less teeth than if you went for it all at once. I'd suggest first getting used to the controls, then get used to hitting the speed boosts on the map to learn said map, then get used to landing tricks on every jump, and testing out the different routes, as the level has multiple to get to the same spot, and depending on what you do, a path that seems like a shortcut may take longer if hit the wrong way.

I remember the first time I succeeded in that flooding sewer run the game glitch and somehow I found a spot where I got back my air despite being underwater which allowed me to swim to finish it and get to Quark I was crying tears of joy when I finally did it. Come back later as a more experiecned player just rushing through so I could get my up your arsenal discount it was realatively easier.

Now I remember why I never got all the skill points, it was those hoverboard races were brutal for me. Still glad to see the original get the spotlight for a change of pace though.
I remember getting the platinum for this! There were only a couple of trophies that made me want to rip my hair out but it was worth it
I was expecting the remake that was released after the movie but I'm glad it was the original game as it was one of my first games
You can make 1st race extremely easy by glitching onto the track and destroying boxes, and leaving (by saving the game and loading, or by dying, as by leaving the race normal way will most likely respawn boxes), so the boxes won't respawn.
If you also farm bolts there with taunter under the platform with a lot of boxes, you can get ryno really early, making whole game really easy

That 1 million bolts trophy puts off people earning the Platinum for this game, and fair enough imo. It’s an absolute nightmare to obtain 1 million bolts on the first ever game as there are no bolt multipliers at all. I had to put on so many videos and podcasts to get through that grind and obtain the Platinum.

Doing my own playthroughs in the R&C games I have to tie me over until Rift Apart's PC release (I don't have a PS5). I have the HD collection for the original trilogy, the same trilogy on PS2 along with Deadlocked, the movie game, and A Crack in Time from the Future series
Not that it really matters, but ever since beating Drek as a kid and knowing how difficult it can be, I never take on Drek before having the RYNO anymore. I’ve also platinum’d the game recently and my son also plays these games with me. The RYNO is the best way to deal with Drek, and if you’re going for the platinum trophy anyway, you’ll already have 1 million bolts or close to it, and be looking for an excuse to spend them anyway.
If you like stealth games I know of one I tried recently that seemed pretty good. It's called Aragami and I'm not sure if it's on pc or not.
I love R&C. Would be cool if you do Jak and Daxter series at some point aswell.

Replaying 1 now, I cannot imagine grinding all of those trophies, thanks for doing it for us!
The most difficulty trophy for me was the one with the insane hoverboard trick, never was able to actually do it...

I'm pretty sure the rilgar hoverboard race is the quickest way to gain bolts without glitches. You get 1000 bolts each time you improve the quickest time and score. So you can win 2000 bolts every couple minutes. Until you can't beat your old scores anymore anyway. I'd choose that over the giant clank battle anyday.

If you achievement grind The Witcher 3, I’ll do it too. The next gen update they did is amazing. It’s the kind of effort and upgrade that could’ve been sold as a remaster
I still play this timeless masterpiece. Too bad my L2 and R2 are busted, so the Twisty McMarx will be impossible.

Anyone here remembers Secret Agent Clank for PSP? I loved this game as a kid
it probably wouldve been faster and more fun to grind the necessary bolts by just doing another playthrough of the game. I usually can easily buy every weapon and gadget from the Gadgetron vendors except the Tesla Coil, as well as both Nanotech Upgrades in my first playthrough. Then on my second playthrough, I first buy the Tesla Coil, and then not spend my bolts on anything else except required story purchases until I save up the 150000 required to purchase the RYNO. I usually make this purchase at about the point in the game when you first unlock planet Pokitaru. Then I can usually get enough bolts to purchase the 5 least expensive Gold Weapon upgrades by the time I beat Drek the secod Time. I then easily get the needed bolts for the remaining gold weapons on the third playthrough.
18:07 Just a warning, if you do this skill point in challenge mode before you play the robot's cutscene, you will soft lock the game, Helga won't appear.
