Bhopal Shatabdi with a WAP- 3 used to run at a max speed of 140 kmph only. It was increased to 150 KMPH only after the introduction of LHB coaches and WAP5 ( even though there is a video by Mani Vijay that does show the WAP-3 hauled Shatabdi running at 150 kmph in order to make up time. Those days there were no speed loggers and so loco pilots at times used to overspeed. However the sanctioned max speed was 140 kmph .

There was an article of railways in bangalore city railway station in 2004 which was having the mention of bhopal shatabdi with top speed 150 kmph

@@AAWARAAADAMI It was increased to 150 kmph in 2004 AFTER the introduction of LHB coaches and the WAP5. When it was introduced in 1988 with ICF coaches and a WAP3, it had a maximum speed of 140 kmph. Somewhere in the mid 90s, the coaches became older and the max speed was dropped to 130 kmph even between Delhi and Agra. in 2004 with new LHB coaches and a WAP5 the max speed was officially raised to 150 kmph between New Delhi and Agra when Lalu Prasad was the RM. Please note that Iam talking about the official max speeds. As you can see in Murali Vijay's video shown in this clip, the old Shatabdi was sometimes run at 150 kmph to make up time, but that is unofficial and will count as overspeeding ..
