Sea of Stars blew my mind in all of the right ways! I wouldn’t have been upset if you placed it above Rebirth honestly. They are both phenomenal games. Excellent list!

That was quite a jump, thought that Mario had a Scottish cousin there for a minute 😂 Great list!!! Can’t wait to play Sea of Stars! I’m almost done with Golden Sun, which will be my first non-Pokémon turned based JRPG that I’ll actually beat! I always get lost or distracted but your channel and other RPG channels in the community have inspired me to see it through and expand my horizons!

Sea of Stars is amazing, I played it last year. 8 Bit Adventures 2 I'm playing as soon as I'm done with Chained Echoes. And you're right, Joshua over at Critical Games is one of the best guys around.
The first one that comes to mind is Trails Through Daybreak. But there where a lot of titles I also liked. Metaphor ReFantazio, YsX - Nordics and Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance are a few of them. I really looking forward to 2025 with Atelier Yumia, Trails Through Daybreak 2, the stand-alone version of Atelier Resleriana and the 3D remake of Trails In The Sky First Chapter.
My favorite JRPG played this year was DQXI! The music and art style in Sea of Stars were amazing; however, the 3 main characters, on the other hand, were some of the most bland ones of all time.
Persona 3 Reload was easily my game of the year. Persona 3 has long been one of my top 10 games of all time. So it was a forgone conclusion that it would be if they did a good job, and it was absolutely incredible. Glad to see it made the list, even if it isn't number 1. The Final Fantasy 15 mention was cool too. I've had the game for years on PS4 but never actually finished it. This year I finally went back and finished it. It was a fantastic experience. I actually chose to platinum the game in honor of my best friend. I thought his gaming was over. So I wanted to platinum one of his favorite games. Ironically, it actually brought him back to gaming, and he's having more fun than he ever has, or so he told me the other day anyway. As for Rebirth, I just got it a few weeks ago. I didn't prioritize it, because I have actually never finished part 1. But I couldn't pass on it in the Black Friday sales. So I guess one of my goals for 2025 will be to go back and finish Remake and Yuffie's dlc, so i can actually play Rebirth, which also looks incredible.
That's awesome that Persona 3 Reload was your game of the year! It's awesome! And thats brilliant about FFXV and that it brought him back to gaming!!! You'll love the FF7 Remake and Rebirth games!
@@chickenfillets I have no doubt that I will. I have enjoyed Remake as far as I've played it. For some reason, I just got tied up with something else and never got back to it. Definitely something I have to finish next year.
