Well done on completing the 312 🎉💪🏾 That episode had so much drama in it...sore back, pokka dots chasing you down, crank fallen off, noisey brakes...really enjoyed it 😅
Almost as epic as your chain entanglement in Bonny Scotland ride 10:30 ua-cam.com/video/iC6AawJvzw8/v-deo.htmlsi=xS0MqCDnl8MIW2Fw Too much power and not enough brain 🤣🤣🤣
Well done Aky and great to ride with you on parts of the course. Sorry for completely blanking you at the top of Es Grau (9:55) Must have been in the zone as I never saw you there and only realised I'd ridden by when I spotted myself here. You must have smashed it back from Arta to the finish because you weren't far behind me at the finish, and I only stopped in Arta long enough to down a Coke and let the mechanic station know you might be limping in with a crank in two pieces
Once the crank was temporarily attached it was full gas from me in the event of it falling off and me having to coast home with it before the curtains closed. I’d stopped at the top of Grau due to the back pain and took 5 minutes before continuing on. What a day it was I’m really glad I signed up.
Hi sorry I didn’t know you were filming when I came over talking to you . I did 312 in 2019 and didn’t have all the trouble with pens , it was a joke this year . It was 36min before we crossed the line . I had a challenging day with coming off and mechanical but still had a great day . Good to meet you and great vid 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
@@BeardonaBike only ridden once since back and couple of issues but will sort easy enough. Mainly been on tt bike for Austria full Ironman next month 😱😱😱
Well done Aky you did it despite all the issues. You need to get back next year and significantly improve your time which you are capable of. That climbing certain beats our areas of Huddersfield and Queensbury. Currently out in Pollensa and somehow managed to join the Ironman 70.5 race yesterday but only for short while lol
@@BeardonaBike think that boat has sailed as been diagnosed with a heart murmur and not being allowed to do big volume of riding, kind of sucks but it is what it is .
Hi mate . Been watching your videos for a while . Excellent content . Especially the Gran Canaria ones from a few year ago. I'm off to Majorca this week and im interested to know did you arrange your own transport when yo rode from Andratx back to Plllenca or was it part of an organised group. I have a few routes planned but would love to add that one in. Keep up the good work and excellent videos.
Thanks for reaching out, and being a long time follower. In terms of transport we used a company called Mallorca cycle shuttle admin@mallorcacycleshuttle.com
Great video matey , to give you an idea , i averaged 17.5 mph to come in at 10 hours and 56 minutes ! Total stop time 23 minutes ! Bit more training and no mechanicals im sure you,d do sub 11 hours !🙏
Dr said Mallorca is overrated and he’s done with it. If you’re planning on riding with him you’ll all get broken up in the first 20 miles and probably never see each other again. I may go again to shave off 1h for late start and mechanicals and 1h for head wind, convenience breaks and back aches 🤣
That’s it for now, reached my quota with family and work for a while. The next event will be the Dragon Ride in the UK which is supposed to be tougher than the 312 another 200 miles with tougher climbs and UK’s poor roads and unpredictable weather conditions 🤣
There probably is and I’m up for suggestions, I think this is more about ticking off the event to say you did it. It’s like doing the London marathon, plenty of better places to go running but then you can’t say you took part in the London marathon. Could have been organised a little better though.
I would be downing the ibuprofen and paracetamols, which I did on the Etape Caledonia last week. And before starting I rubbed on the ibuprofen gel. Take care and keep the videos coming, I enjoy watching them.👍🏻🚵♂️
Awesome video mate, really shows how tough it is hitting those cut off times!! Well done, especially with everything stacked against you!!
Same again next year, you up for it?
@@BeardonaBike Hmmm, i'll have a think 😂
Great to see you back. Best regards Martin

Brilliant vid welcome back!!. Hope the back gets better!!

Great effort but the event looks really poor. Surely there are better places to go for a long ride?
