No not really. I live in CA and I don't go to Starbuck's anyway because they won't unionize. I like to support locals. On the other hand, while my gf and I were in Bratislava a few months ago, and in a hurry for some motel food for dinner, we popped into the Starbuck's a couple blocks from our hotel. It was fine. I mean, it's none of my business really, since I don't live there. If that's what the Czechs want, or the Slovaks... Not that I wouldn't live there, in Czechia. Actually, I would love to live there. I want to move there. But we have jobs here. I will be back soon anyway since I am now helplessly addicted to Czechia. Moje Babička a muj dêdeček were from Moravia, and I need to go back there. I want to stay for a while in Kutna Hora, thanks to your great video, and spend time also in Olomouc, thanks to Honest Guides' awesome video as well. I don't know why we didn't watch you guys before we left! Also, we missed Prague Castle. How silly of us! Next time I will be watching for the "100 Red Umbrella". Nashledanou.
Wow, this is fantastic ! A very detailed tour of the Hradcany, from all the entrances and which ones to take, to the interior, to restrooms (or not), to the best time to go, to the tower and so much more. I really enjoy your humor and personality. You make everything seem so smooth and effortless, but I know it takes a lot to put together. I normally watch videos at 2 times speed, to get through them, but watched this one at normal speed to take it all in. Kudos to your cameraman and the editing work also. Your videos were always good, but have only become even more polished, professional and enjoyable to watch.
Was 2 days ago (on Saturday) around 11 am and it was crowded with people, but the castle is beautiful and recommended to visit anytime Greetings from Croatia
Thanks for another great video. We had a wonderful time in Prague last spring and your videos helped. Our 100 Spires walking tour really prepared us for the rest of our visit.
This, and your many other videos, have been very helpful as we’ve spent the past week in Prague. Today we followed your advice and arrived at the castle at around 2 pm well after the changing of the guard. It’s the end of June and Prague is full of tourists, but we got our tickets with NO lineup and didn’t wait to get into any of the sights.
Lovely vid as always - but it gave me PTSD as I had gigs in the Lobkowicz palace where I had to run up the steps at the last minute and a wedding in the restaurant where I had to carry my keyboard up the steps. Screw those steps.
oh dear, you are my friend now, I love the sarcasm. Great video, it resolved all my doubts about visiting Prague Castle, I will be there in a couple of weeks. Thanks, greetings from Mexico.
Another nice video! Why would anyone go to StarBucks in Prague when there is hundreds of local cafe big and small that is both cheaper and better? if chain cafe store is your thing! I feel Costa Coffee is better!
Not really cheaper tho… im here right now and the lamest espresso is no less than 2 euros. Americanos and ice lattes go for 4 euros. I have seen capuccinos for 6 euros… The quality is better yeah, but without sugar and milk it still tastes more bitter than it should for a nice quality coffee
I asked for the photographic ticket when I bought my tickets just last week (April 13th) and was told they weren’t issued anymore and I could take as many pictures as I liked.
That's great news. I was just going to ask if I had to purchase a photographic ticket for my compact point and shoot camera. That's one less thing to spend money on.
I was also told on July 5 that I would not need a pass to take photos with my SLR camera. It was great especially inside St Vitas when I could increase the ISO for some spectacular photos.
RPGs!!! I loved this video! This reminded me of a great day I spent there. I also love the effect of Val on the screen with people cheering 😂. I would recommend that people go ahead and pay the inflated price. There are lots of great things to see here. I don’t blame them for bitching about it, and probably would myself , but I would still pay to see it. Great Stuff RPGs!!
Hola, muy interesante tu video sobre el Castillo de Praga. Me puedes informar dónde comprar la entrada o entradas por internet. Mil gracias por tu ayuda. Espero que tengas un muy feliz día!!!
Love your humor in your videos Val. I'm looking forward to my visit of Praha next month. One thing if you could tell me, I read you could buy separate tickets to take photos inside the buildings. Where would I buy these tickets, and also the Strahovsky Library. Do i need to pay for photos ? Thanks ! P.S. I just realized you said the phone is allowed for photos. Good enough.
Hi I like to watch your videos on Prague, I have only been to Czeckrepubic once last year but hope to go again soon. Can you tell me how was the castle used during and the German occupation ?
A little more information please: if buying tickets for entrance-cash only? credit cards? Using the WC cash only? When do the summer hours end? Visiting in early September. Is that summer hours or winter hours?
If you are going to do a tour of Prague castle. May I suggest you do it with a tour guide of less than 10 people. Pay the money it is worth it. The history will be lost if you try it otherwise and it holds many secrets.
Hello from Greece and thank you for your entertaining videos! I will visit Prague next May and i would like to take a walking tour with your company How can i manage to have you as our giude? Is there a timetable or i have to ask for you when i book? Thank you
Hi. You can book on our website www.tours-prague.eu Valery at the moment doesn’t guide but is thinking to come back this summer to do Castle Tour with interiors. You can join on of our free walking tours tor great overview of the city’s history. All the guides are very friendly and informative.
Was there in January 2024 and agree the toilets in the restaurants were not open and the public ones only accepted Czech Krone coins so I will admit to jumping the turnstile. Even in January the crowds were large and the toilets disgusting.

Hi there! Quick question: do you believe it is possible and easy to purchase a ticket directly at the castle in one of its info points even during this time of the year? Or would it be wiser to book a visit online in advance, considering the crowds in August?
Hi. Depends on the time you will visit. If you avoid the busiest time (11 am - 1 pm) for purchasing the tickets you should be fine. Prague Castle doesn’t offer an easy way to buy the tickets online.
I was there recently, and honestly, I don't think it's worth it. The crowds in the ticket places are too frustrating. There are more interesting churches in Prague city, and better exhibits in its museums. However, the castle grounds and gardens are beautiful, and free.
The price increase is ludicrous. We visit at least four times a year with a ten year old. To go from £30 for us to £60 makes this an expensive afternoon so we won’t be bothering for the next few visits. Our money will be going to other attractions that don’t treat tourists as cash cows. Incidentally, what’s happened to your Facebook page?
The Castle complex maintenance and renovations is primarily financed by the resident taxpayers. The ticket revenue is just a small part of this cost. Think about Czech taxpayers that pay taxes to maintain all publicly owned sigts like the PRG Castle and have to pay 'again' when they want to visit the sight. I think the fair system would be to further increase the entry fees for non-residents and introduce massive discounts for resident taxpayers who finance the complex from their taxes on regular basis even when they do not visit. That would be a fair system
Inflations are starting du to "a type of bad system" (sarcasm) (lot of bad events). For a tourist or a traveller the inflation of the ticket is not something problematic (excepted if someone pay for many people) cause we would only go once. In one side you have the money but in the other side the castle is nothing, and it's only visits. Is the cost worth it? I mean for what people would pay is there something new,in add? No. Business is something more organized, you make the thing already prepared and you sell or whatever and you can't mess with people. You can't just charge people just like this and saying that's it's for renovations. They charge for everything, cameras and camcorders. This is "cheap". Only for the gesture I would not go over there. This is not good business,it's really not well or normally organized,I mean the tarif for what you get,the logic is very bad.
your perspective is quite limited. It takes LOT (LOT!) of money to maintain the Castle complex as it is huge. Not only renovations, but simple maintenance. The ticket revenue is just a small part of these cost. The Castle maintenance is primarily financed by the resident taxpayers. My only objection as a Czech taxpayer is that there should be a massive discount for those paying taxes here, as we, unlike foreign tourists, finance the Castle complex(and most publicly financed sights) even when we do not visit it;) Why pay 'twice' and pay for tickets 'again' when we want to visit. They should introduce such scheme to all publicly financed sights, not only to PRG castle
@@letecmig You even't know what taxes are other than in airports. It's a kind of system, the government would have to make a vote first, well in Canada they didn't but anyway the government and the rest of the enterprises made by agencies doesn't have the right to do this. It start with the taxes in stores then it's the incomes taxation and there is lot lot lot ... of very bad stuffs other than money. What you are talking about are not taxes. It's a raise logik.

That's worthless. Your civilisation is not used to kind of things like this. On both side this will make a disaster.
Starbucks won't last. Czech people know what real coffee should taste like.
Starbucks is confection, not coffee. I don't hate it, but I don't go there either.
I like "real prague guides" even more than Prague Castle. I have been twice This video is great as usual! I may go a third time 😊

Cute, funny and useful! Very good work, sweet Valery!
We visited Prague last week after watching a lot of your videos. They definitely helped and improved the experience. Thank you Valerie.
