      Obviously there were other issues, conditioning especially, and it wasn’t entirely his defense, but he looked horrible as the Eagles interim DC last year. We were bad already, but got markedly worse when he took over. Him taking over lined up perfectly with the collapse. Just saying. Good guy though.

      I think it means they would play with the practice squad.

    • @IrishClone
      @IrishClone 2 дні тому +37

      I believe it's a variation of the scout team. They're just there to "show" the different defenses the opponent may play that week. Usually it's backups and practice squad guys but in this case, their best defenders were going out there to do that

    • @joshg1529

    • @StevenCastilla-i2g
      @StevenCastilla-i2g 2 години тому

      "show team" in this context refers to a practice team that models different defensive/offensives schemes. They are 'showing" different looks and formations and playstyles so the actual team can get reps in against a similar playstyle of whatever team theyre preparing for. Matt is telling a story about veteran Patriots players playing on the "show team" themselves because they were bored, which is unusual because "show team" is typically reserved for the practice squad.

    This is why Patrick I don’t think we’ll ever reach Tom’s level. Think about the defense Tom had to go against every day and practice with, then on Sundays, he’s going up against teams like The ravens with Ray Lewis. Pittsburgh‘s defense Legion of boom Im sb. Patrick Mahomes is going against no defense, even close to that level. Philadelphia has a good defense, but he gets to play them in the Super Bowl. Tom has to go against like three of the best defenses ever just to get to the Super Bowl.😂
