Testing Val Cox’s New Bullseye Frit Blends

- I am working on testing some beautiful new frit blends from Val Cox but this time in Bullseye/90. I used the ceramic 9-cavity heart mold made by Firelite Forms. I found mine at The Glass Underground. I didn’t mention it in the video but my molds are coated well with ZYP Boron Nitride spray.
My firing schedule is at the end of the video but also below. Please always remember all kilns fire differently and you should create a set of test tiles to help you understand what ranges are optimal in your kiln. This schedule works for me, in my kiln, using 90 COE (temp in Fahrenheit):
400/hr to 1100 hold 45 minutes
50/hr to 1250 hold 30 minutes
400/hr to 1490 hold 20 minutes
AFAP to 900 hold 90 minutes
100/hr to 600 off.
Wait until cool to open.

Very comprehensive and easy to follow instructions. I have had problems with this particular mould.
I notice u don’t put them on a raised kiln shelf. I have one heart stuck. Tried twice upside down to remove it. No joy. Thanku 👍🏼👌
Thanks so much Jackie. So interesting
You’re very welcome, thank you!

Just when I think I have enoughstuff, someone like Val comes along and produces a product that really makes me want more stuff. Those are gorgeous. That tanzanite!
Right? I say that with molds too! No more molds… then something cool comes out! The struggle is real!
And thank you! Yes I love the Tanzanite!
