- French cars went through a period of being some of the best around. Yes, that may have been close to 40 years ago, but the legacy still lives in the memory of many.
The Peugeot 508 SW PSE has come on the scene and caused a little bit of a stir. Just look at it. Really aggressive and pretty design, but how does it drive? Time to find out if Peugeot have revived the fast French car.

I really wish we got this car in the states, along with the rest of the Peugeot lineup. Stellantis really needs a new manufacturer in the US to replace the ailing Fiat, and Peugeot has exactly the lineup that would appeal to American buyers
The 508 is not available in mexico or latin america

Nice review. Great looking car, I'd certainly be happy to own one of these. Likely to become quite a rare model in the future.
How comes none of previous reviewers never brought up the issue of the gearbox? Its like some Brit reviewers desperately want Peugeot to fail in this segment.
I have never been a fan of Peugeot until i saw this the other day. It definitely caught my eye.
Would i buy one? No probably not and shame about the gearbox
All they needed to do is have a 2L turbo, or a V6 and a manual gearbox. That's it.
this and the kia stinger gt could be very indirect compeditors
What mode were you driving on, when you were complaining about the gearbox?

The only reason to buy one in the UK is as a company car. Without those tax breaks this would be as popular as a Lineker tweet in a BBC board room
It looks great but for that amount of money, I'd take the m340i touring. Why? The inline 6 roar.
Peugeot and Alpine (ahem, Renault) are on absolute top form at the moment
Astonishing. I always loved my Peugeot 406 3 litre V6 estate. That was almost as fast as my E34 BMW M5, although I would never have admitted it at the time of course. Thanks for the review. I have added the car to my 'maybe have a look' list.

@@pigeonpoo1823 I did buy the DVD after I realised both cars were in it! Interestingly, the crashed M5 in the film was a 535i dressed up to look like an M5 so I have read.

They’ve still havent given up the bonkers dash design. Naah, I’d rather drive the 1988 drift-king, 180hp Peugeot 505 TurboInjection.
You don't have this gear problems with the 508 gt 225hp hybride

what about the sunbeam 2.2 the Avon one wash the quickest of the lot and was the first as far as I remember

Worst Peugeot fail EVER.
OVERPRICED , a RIDICOLOUS thp 1.6lt 200hp , and infact i NEVER EVER SAW one of these on roads. What a shame omg , a true pity , the design is absolutely fantastic !
