    Just tested: plugged the usb-c receiver (for mobile phones) into my new macbook with usb-c ports and MacOS recognized it without issues. It does combine the signal from the two transmitters into mono, though. Perhaps on an even more important note, even when you connect the "camera" receiver to the mac with a usb cable, you are getting the same merged mono. The only way to get to separate tracks into your computer/recorder/mixer... is to use the audio cable (headphone jack).
    P.S.: I have also tried connecting the camera receiver to my phone via USB and it works, but again, both mics as 1 channel. Having to use an audio cable to get separate tracks for the two mics is a shame. Still, a great product for the price!

      Thanks for clarification. it seems switching to stereo is not functional except when connected using audio cable. This is quite misleading having option to turn stereo mode on but it actually does nothing.
      When used with phones it makes sense it is limited to mono as phones are limited that way. But, when connected to PC via USB and still having mono is very strange and quite disappointing.

    • @LeoPazzo
      @LeoPazzo  8 днів тому

      @@epedja try connecting the M2 camer receiver to the pc using the 3.5mm output.
      Using the USBc will be a digital signal. Verses using the 3.5mm will be an analog signal which should be able to provide a stereo signal.

      @@vickyfoodhunter hey there Vicky.
      When your just using 1 mic you can set it to mono mode. When you are using 2 mic’s you can set it to stereo mode.
      When you using 2 mics you don’t have to use it in stereo mode but it is suggested to use it in stereo mode when using 2 mics that way you will have more flexibility when it comes to editing the audio in post production with your video editing program. That way you can have more control of the audio from both mics when using stereo mode.

      @LeoPazzo  3 дні тому +1

      @HonestFred are you using the small mobile phone receiver plugged into your phone ? Or are you using the larger camera receiver plugged into your phone? Both options should work.
      Depending what lark m2 kit you bought.
      Did you buy the mobile phone version which comes with 2 mics and 1 small usbc receiver?
      Or did you buy the combo version that comes with 3 receivers?
      -camera receiver
      -usbc receiver
      - phone receiver
      As shown in this video, I have the combo version which comes with all 3 receivers.
      For your case, since you want to use it with your phone, you can use either the small usbc receiver or you can use the larger camera receiver but you will need a usbc to usbc cable to connect the camera receiver to your phone.
      In my opinion the camera receiver will give you the best audio as you can control the mic gain on the camera receiver.
      Also keep in mind the positioning of the mic will give good or bad audio.
      Another tip would be to turn off the noise cancelation feature.
      If I recall correctly you have to press the small button on the microphone to turn ON or off the mic noise cancelation feature. Turn it off. I can’t remember if the light should be green or blue to indicate that the noise cancelation is off.
      Skim through this video again as I do talk about which color the light should be on the microphone that indicates that the noise cancelation is either off or on.
      I think the blue light on the microphone means noise cancelation is off. Which is what you want.
      Hope this helps.
      Keep me updated.

    what's the difference between mono vs stereo modes?

    • @LeoPazzo
      @LeoPazzo  2 місяці тому +5

      Hey there, generally speaking and to keep it simple as possible.
      Mono is usually used when you just have one mic activated for one person speaking.
      Stereo is usually used when you have two mics activated and 2 people speaking.
      So each person would get their own wireless mic.

      I filmed this video with my Panasonic GH6 camera. My camera records the audio stereo. And when I use a mic like this Lark M2 in stereo mode. It records 1 video file which has 2 channels, a left and a right channel. Which is basically mic 1 and mic 2. As you exactly see in the video. Now I have full control of each mics audio levels independently.
      I’m not sure exactly how to apply this to your podcasting audio setup. If you tell me a little bit more about your audio setup for your podcast maybe I can help you figure out how to specifically have 2 audio tracks when recording in stereo mode with the Lark m2 and using both mics for 2 people speaking.

      Hey Hector.
      If I understand your question correctly.
      Yes you can record in Stereo setting and it will record a track for mic 1 and another track for mic 2. This is how it works for me when recording to my Panasonic GH6 camera. I get 2 audio tracks in post production. 1 track for mic 1 and 1 track for mic 2.
      I don’t own the Zoom H6, but if the zoom h6 has a 3.5mm mic input then Yes you can. If the h6 only has a 1/4 mic input then I’m pretty sure you can just use a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter and connect the Lark M2 receiver to the h6 mic input.

    Hi Leo. Great video! I have the M2 system (works great for me) but I have to record a round-table with four guests. What's the best solution to do this? If I buy another M2 system, will all four transmitters connect to the receiver connected to the camera I'm using? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    • @LeoPazzo
      @LeoPazzo  Місяць тому

      Hey there thank you for your feedback.
      I haven’t tested trying to connect 4 lark M2 mic’s to the 1 receiver.
      To be honest I don’t think it’s possible. You may want to double check with Hollyland to answer that question 100%. But my first guess is NO, it is not possible.
      I think your next best option is to buy another Lark M2 kit. Have one of the receivers from the kit plugged into your camera as you normally would. And then have the other receiver from the 2nd lark m2 kit plugged into your PC. Then download a free audio recording app on your pc and record the audio to your pc.
      So in other words. 2 mics will be recording to your camera in stereo. And the other 2 mics recording to your pc in stereo.
      The audio recorded to your pc will need to be synced in post production editing to match up with the camera audio / video.
      Another option I’m thinking can work. Is if you use a audio recording device, for example like a Zoom h4n pro audio recorder.
      This way you can plug in both receivers from the 2 lark m2 kits as audio inputs to the Zoom h4n pro recorder. Then just record all the audio onto the Zoom h4n pro micro sd card.
      Or you can connect one receiver to your camera as normal and the other receiver plugged into the Zoom h4n pro audio recorder. And record the audio that audio to the Zoom h4n pro audio recorder. Yes again you will need to sync the audio in post production.
      Another option is to plug in the one receiver into your camera as normal. And the second receiver from the 2nd lark m2 kit plugged into your mobile phone. Then just use a audio recording app on your phone to record the other 2 mics. Yes it is similar to the very first option but this time it can allow you to use your phone to record the audio instead of your PC.
      Hopefully this has made sense and has given you some other ideas on how to record 4 people.
      Keep me updated on how it goes.
      Do some testing before the recording date.

      No you can not. They will not fit in the charging case. But you can store them in the little bag with all the other cables and wind muffs.

    Do you know if you can record in stereo on iphone 15 pro max using the usbc receiver?

    • @LeoPazzo
      @LeoPazzo  2 місяці тому +1

      @@DavidWoodBusinessCoach I would assume yes but I’m not 100% sure as I don’t own the iPhone 15. I think your best option is to reach out to Hollyland directly.
      Or if you give me some time, I might have a chance to test that out with my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

    I tried the audio cable and the USB-C cable with my phone. Not getting two separate streams. It's just two streams with identical audio. Tried both the modes, mono, stereo. I have the camera version. OnePlus Nord CE phone. Somebody help, please!

    • @LeoPazzo
      @LeoPazzo  Місяць тому

      If I recall correctly our mobile phones do not support the stereo features.
      You would have to use your camera to take advantage of the stereo mode. You could try your PC to see if it supports the stereo option.
      I mainly use this mic kit with my camera and my camera 100% supports the stereo mode.
      Try recording to another device in stereo mode.
      I’ll do some more research and hopefully get back to you asap.

      @@LeoPazzo Yes. It works with my desktop alright. The phones don't support stereo recording, you're right. Thanks for looking out, Leo! Your video helped me figure out how things would work. @theguitarteacher amazing. Where do you have the mic placed on the guitar? And how did you mount it to the guitar? Just with the clip? Very cool way of using the mic kit.
      How do you have the receiver connected to your PC? With the USBc connection or the analogue 3.5mm connection ? Laptop or PC or Mac?

    Great video! I have the M2 system, but I need to record a round-table with 4 guests. I'm using a single camera. What's the best solution to do this? I"m assuming using a single receiver will only connect to its 2 original transmitters? Thank you in advance.

    • @LeoPazzo
      @LeoPazzo  5 днів тому

      Have you found a solution?
      My first suggestion would just to place the 2 mics in the center of the table and this way the 2 mics can pick up all 4 people speaking.
      If I recall correctly this mics are omni directional so they should be able to pick up all 4 people if you position them in a way they can collect audio from all 4 people.
      I would plug in headphones in to whatever device you will be using it with so you can test and monitor the audio. As you may need to increase the receivers mic gain input, or you may need to raise the volume gain of the audio in post production editing process.

    can the mic connect to the camera receiver and the type c at the same time? or have one mic connected to the receiver and second mic connected to the type c/lighting receiver???

      Wow great question.
      I’m actually using the mic right now recording a video review. Once I’m done I’m going to test this out.
      If by any chance we can connect both the camera receiver to the camera and at the same time connect the phone receiver to the phone. I wonder if we can record to the camera and the phone at the same time by using both receivers. Great idea.
      I’m also interested to know if this is possible. I’ll keep you updated.

      At section 11:44 in this video i demonstrate how to sync / pair the 2 microphones to the receiver. It is done automatically when you power on the receiver and then pull out the mics from the charging hub. Auto sync / pairing feature.
      If for whatever reason you need to manually sync the receiver to the mics then you press and hold the yellow button at the side of the receiver for about 6 seconds and then press and hold the yellow button on the side of the microphone for 6 seconds and they will manually sync.
      Flashing blue light on the receiver means it is not synced. and solid blue led light on the receiver means that the receiver and mic is paired. Labels as TX1 and TX2.
      As discussed in this video at section 11:44
      Hope this helps clarify for you.
