What's your favorite Axe? 🪓
Knife.
Shrade 12”, had it for years and has taken up to 20”.full grown trees with it
Gransfors burk anyday
Gränsfors
Fiskars
"Our favorite axes" that we want to sell you but we don't know what makes a good axe.
Literally surprised they didn’t pull out some keychain axes and chop some paper. EDIT they did….
I don't want to be a d1ck here, but do these guys do tree work? I mean I wouldn't choose any of those to work with, maybe as a toy to show off or if u was going into a war or something, but for tree work, not so much lol.
I'm sorry, but if someone pulls out a Spyderco, Toor, Hogue or CRKT hatchet I will automatically assume they have no idea how to use a hatchet
Thank you for saying it!
The Toor and CRKT are tactical tools meant for breaching a car or building or splitting a bad guy down the middle. The Spyderco is a bushcraft tool for making a shelter. Not everything is a fireplace tool.
CRKT has some other axes that are more traditional and look like they would be a better option, like the Birler and the Freyr. The Cimbri is more of a tomahawk than anything but wouldn't be a bad choice for space/weight saving on a hike and just make a quick handle when needed
@@HickLif3 nawww get the fuckin Kangee hawk and tear into an old refrigerator with it. Arrrggghh!!
Hahaha! Almost all of those hatchets or tomahawks you listed are pretty much only good for collecting. Maybe hanging it off your belt to impress people who reside in a "knife culture" where decorative blades are expected.
With the exception of the Hulks Bruk and Hoffman, I'm disappointed in most of these axes. Hell I don't even consider most of these as axes/hatches.
Right, those little baby axes ain’t worth a damn for any task but maybe chopping up a salad
What’s wrong with the Alder?
YES. Axes became my lockdown obsession, hoping for more ax content!
Same here I had 2 before the lockdown now I have 40
@@160moebius2 hahahaha do you.just keep hanging thwm on the wall? Thats awesome.
Gransfors bruk
The Spyderco hatchet looks like a hatchet some urbanite with no woods experience would own. Style is more important than function.
Yep!
I highly recommend the Cold Steel Trail Boss, great axe for the price.
It's a great axe at any price point. I have no complaints about mine.
it looks like a real good reliable axe, that trail boss
I got one just take of the varnish oil it and your good
Thank you for this! Axes are great tools that people don’t talk about enough.
Like guitars. everyone wants to buy one and no one wants to learn how to use it.
I found myself my dream girl years ago. Taller and broader than me, long red hair, a piercing gaze, and very proud of her Viking heritage. She has the Cold Steel Bad Ax in her birthday wishlist, so I got it for her. She loved it.
I can’t believe you didn’t mention the Council Woodcraft 24”. It’s the best axe I’ve ever used, and it’s 100% USA made from USA components. It uses better steel than many of these (5160), has a hardened pole, and a 90 degree edge on the top. Everyone should own one. The Council Woodcraft 19” and the 16” Camp Carver are amazing, as well.
Advertisement video. I'm assuming their pushing stock that doesn't sell well.
@@charlessalmond7076 never thought of it like that, but it does make sense
Axe Banter. Love it. That Spyderco was pretty cool looking.
A little late, but I love how Kurt always has a bandage of some sort on his hand in almost every video
I love axes as much as knives. I'm glad that there is as many varieties as well.Great video guys and gals.
I love when my go to website for kn>ves dangles things that blow my budget out the water in front of my face haha
GREAT OUTDOOR VIDEO, MORE, NEED MORE!
You guys need to carry gransfors bruks. They are by far the best no nonsense hand forged axes on the planet.
Indeed
Sing it! 🎶🎵 I’m a lumberjack and I’m okay, I sleep all night and I work all day!🎵🎶
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Classic!
Ooohhkaaayy.
Hoffman trappers are looking awesome can’t wait for you to have them in stock
Watching bad ass axe video, ad plays for wood splitting drill bit...
Loved the video guys, keep up the great content.
The Wasatch is just too beautiful to use. It is an art piece.
2 questions One What is that knife on the table that looks like full tang fixed blade?
Two was the Carlton Hardware Firewood Splitter Drill Bit ad on purpose or coincidence?
Nice collection 👍👍
First and awesome vid keep up the amazing work and love the axes
I'm sorry to say but you missed the king of axes! Gränsfors!
DITTO!
Sames!
Genuine question regarding the Jenny Wren. I know it's an RMJ Tactical design, and I've seen some other designs from RMJ moved over to CRKT (Origin fixed). So, did RMJ get bought out, or are they just selling some of their designs to gain a footing in the affordable knife/axe world?
That thumb bandage is gnarly
don't understand, how a man who's not able to handle a hammer correctly is allowed to touch at axes.
Good review of some good axes. But could you help a novice out with design, what makes a good throwing axe compared to a work axe?
Thanks.
I got a Stihl felling axe and it is by far the best axe I've ever owned. If you want a good axe I highly suggest looking into getting one.
Not a single Gransfors Bruks or Council Tool Velvicut?
what do you guys think of QSP knives?
Love it
The mini axe bottle opener - just make a small leather sheath for it as well then you can still carry it in your pocket even if you sharpen it.
Why can't I find a compact ax or hatchet with a kydex sheath?
Where is the estwing?
Heck yeah
when will the new Gerber line be release? bushcraft hatchet and axe be released?
Can you do a comparison of the top axes and include the winkler knives combat axe.
Just watch that Spyderco hammer bit Kurt.! That blue truffle might get bigger.!!
Love the change up here guys! Still a blade just not knives.
damn you sound like a poet
Might be able to chop the carrots and onions up with those lol
Would’ve liked to have seen the American Tomhawk model 2.
Nice
Which hatchet clipped your finger?
My favorite axe Is a Council Tools, 24" 2# pack axe whose sheath has a shoulder strap attached.
Whittle some retaining channels into that hickory handle , and do a paracord wrap. Maybe even a leather wrap.
Very few of these axes are for real work. The hults is great. The rest is novelty.
“Suuperrr deep throat, with barely any stomach”. That was funny af. Or I’m a man-child🤷🏻♂️🤣
Hultafors!!!
No gransfors bruks? Good way to immediately discredit this vid.
How dare you make an axe video with two big bearded guys and not have them rocking flannel shirts and suspenders! Real missed opportunity guys. I expect you’ll do the right thing and remake this video. I’m available for consultation anytime.
that's a wrap take it away, and thanks for your cooperation
I want a Hoffman but don’t know how to get one. Haha
+1 Thumbs up for mentioning IKEA! ;)
I have a small collection of axes from crkt (all of the woods line) and the more expensive kangee that is a “full tang” and its the same as the most expensive one you showed, it says in the box “not for throwing”, which sucks because that’s exactly why I bought them.
I had a sog voodoo hawk years ago that i threw and broke. So when a hawk says “not for throwing” I don’t throw them and it pisses me off. Honestly a little disappointed you didn’t show any of the woods hawks, or any of the other crkt stuff to be honest.
The spyderco looks like a sheet rock hammer.
I can see a BladeHQ Axe Anatomy poster in the future. I wonder who they could commission for the design...
Stop giving them more ideas that will allow them to take more of my money. Lol. But yeah I'd buy one. And don't stop with knives and axes, why not swords. Start out with the katana and go from there.
Polymers are sht and wood busts after a few hard overstrikes went to all steel estwings they will not fail you(trail boss was a great chopper untill it broke I have the CS axe with the quick change head its solid only weakness is the wood handle and no overstrike protection) if you like wood handles I recommend adding a overstrike protector
“Here’s a Daniel Winkler classified seal team six tomahawk….”
“Have these guys even seen an axe before?!”🥴
Very nice axes, thank you for sharing.👍
Now can we get a sword banter
Been trying to buy that bottle opener for over a year due to COVID restrictions with BHQ only sending to the US... Finally able to but BHQ said it was considered an axe, so they wouldn't post it to Australia. Axes aren't a restricted item. And IT'S A BOTTLE OPENER!
Very disappointed in BHQ.
my grandad has a hults bruk axe i believe and its more than 30 years old he has passed it on to me tho
CHECK OUT THE BROWNING BOYS AXE!! I never see it anywhere and it beats out some expensive axes.
If you like Mountain Dew check out Mountain Dew Spark. Just bought a 12 pack last night and tried them, best soda I’ve ever had and I’m trying to make as many people aware of it as possible so they stock the shelves with it
the spyderco is a tactical war axe/hammer!
Ask Wranglerstar about the Spiderco hatchethawk before you buy.
Haha true
Why? He’s opinionated & full crap, or himself, take your pick.
@@talisikid1618 honestly? I love my little bit customized fiskars X7 Pro and I need no other camp / home hatchet for now 😁 lite and really powerful friend 😀
@@talisikid1618 people are allowed to have their own opinions. I am an Atheist and I enjoy his channel. Try to let people be who they are and don't get mad at them for it.
Had to chime in. That is an Adler, German for eagle, not an alder which is obviously a tree. I know you are showing items you carry for sale, but a mention of Estwing hatchet or camp axe would be nice. Great video, thanks.
Thanks for the clarification
You guys don't know much about axes do ya, lol
Love how blade Hq cancels my order for the m4 smock with no notice or reason.
That sucks man
I still haven't heard the story of the blue thumb Kurt... please do share... oh and scars do add character... love your videos!
@138vicious So he was not worthy to hold that hammer?
@138vicious missed it I guess.... I'll go back and look for it... thanks
Carry on guys😎😎 like like
Here we got a hatchet it looks like a little axe but it's got a handle for holding its for cutting but like holding?.. lmao
gransfors bruks small Forrest axe
Open the Utah store front!
The problem with these new takes on axes with polymer/g10/crazy profiles is that they don’t help the axe do axe things better. A good piece of steel on a hickory handle is all you need.
Pen banter featuring boker tactical fountain pen and Ethergraf pen?
Someday, I will get a Liam Hoffman axe. They are ALWAYS out of stock. Someday....
That Wasatch axe would be the perfect addition to the pile of axes I already have. To be fair, most of those axes are reserved for customer customization, but I have my fair share of hard users & wall hangers. Gotta love dat 🪓
I carry a silky saw, nata, and a moraknivs garberg for my wood duties at camp...small splitting axe would be nice but there's really no such thing and I find that with my silky's and mora I can get most things done...if I come across big seasoned wood my nata can be batoned through it with some effort but a lil axe really wouldn't be practical at all
@@mattyb5345 pretty ASSumptious of you. I've processed more cord of wood than guys you've kissed 😂
Toor Knives 9" Tomahawk F13 Walnut Pattern G-10 (5.5" Black)
Need a review, is it worth $335
Its not, a full tang will feel awful on your hands if you are actually using it
Prices?
Why you guys gotta put me in the mood for a Mexican Coke?
Yes finally fbis is what I’ve been waiting for
Damn
did no one notice Graham said "suuuper deep throat" about the Toor... Kurt didnt say a word
that shit is funny
You guys not sell Estwing
If you're going to exhibit companies' sharp products, you should take a sec to explain which one had you wrap your left thumb with 8 layers of blue gauze.
One cabin two dudes and 30 axes
Estwing. Well done done guys happy trails.
Where's the tops high impact!
i always hate how most axes the place where the axe blade attaches to the wooden handle
always chips away and starts to splinter as time ages and i always hate that. makes it seem like the blade might come off because its not secure enough with a wooden handle and metal blade
it just makes me insecure that wooden handles do that over 50 years of heavy heavy use.
like some pickaxes also have the wooden chip and splinter over time
@@Kevin-qj7fp If you manage to get 50 years of hard work out of it I'd say it was worth the purchase. I totally understand your frustration though, during a long trip up a mountain to split a fallen tree the last thing you want to happen is a loose axe head.
Now for the real problem, somebody please make a reliable chainsaw!
@@ethanlehman7110 yeah back in the day todays tools would be better
but in todays modern world
they should have it last for a persons life time. or 2 life time
Kurt happy to see the thumb seems to be okay very happy about that!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Hoffman all dam day
what happened to the thumb?
No Cold steel? I'm surprised
No Winkler or RMJ ?!
5:31- He said Deep Throat 😆
Thumb bandage ftw lol. Axe to thumb?
Is anyone else put off by that ridiculous Spyderco hole in fixed blades and axes?
Yep
I wouldn’t consider the genzow as as an axe mainly because of the edge shape and handle .more fighting tomahawk
Refreshing to find a video like this from someone who actually knows their way around an axe and isn't just suggesting whatever looks cool...
Lol but this is exactly the video that is suggesting axes that just look cool. Only a few of these axes are half decent.
