After watching many videos of BRI I have a lot of regards for the Chinese. After improving the living standards of its citizens, it wants to do same for citizens of other countries. Of course there's the economy side but the objective is noble.

Those who oppose this project surely doesn't want this and other countries like this (African Nations) to be on equal footing with them. May all the countries in the world properous and live in peace.

Germany's DW made a documentary about the belt & road. It is a much more narrow and negative view focusing on China's "exploitation". The alternative, which they don't reveal, is underdevelopment along the silk road. Thank you for your work. I love that part that daycare children speak four languages.

Bravo! What a great video. My recent study of China guides me in my thinking. Commerce, the Imperial West, since 1441 (when a Portuguese captain with a contract from the European aristocracy and the blessing of the pope, kidnapped a group of Africans into slavery), has stolen their way to wealth. This cruel period of "the Great Aberration" is dying away. How many Uzbekistans are there in the world. I understand what is going on and salute the good and hard working Chinese people. This positivity should receive its just praise and be an encouragement to all the good people of Mother/Earth..

No, China has built its wealth through theft, cheating, breaking all necessary international laws and norms, and through literally thousands of broken promises to western countries that China would finally play fair -- asking the CCP to be honest and deal fairly is like asking the earth not to spin!
But, you know what, it's not China's fault. They are liars and cheats, so that is expected. The Western countries and everyone who has believed their lies is at fault -- they are to blame. They should have known what the CCP would do, but yet they turned a blind eye to it all.

This relationship is not about love, it's all about money. It's well worth it though to boost millions along the New Silk Road out of poverty, just as the old Silk Road did for many years. It's hard to imagine how many towns have and will sprout up along the road to accommodate travelers and traders. Eventually, more and more markets will grow out of this one road that will benefit those in poverty. There are such a wide variety of businesses already popping up such as tire repair and sales, food booths and restaurants, huge markets selling everything that can be bought and resold for profit, there are endless opportunities already growing where there was absolutely nothing before. It's an exciting thing to watch so many people being given a chance to grow and profit so they can build a better life for them and their children.

I was born at a time the Middle East had started to engage China in global trade through the Silk and Road Belt initiated by China as the key to prosperity.
The program extends from Central Asia to Europe with the ancient method known as “Silk Road”. It was in 2013 that then-China President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) during the opening of the People’s Congress China.
Talking about the Chinese investments that have caught global attention, China poured in billions of dollars to make the Silk Road the map for world prosperity.
The key component of the ambitious project is the construction of the railway. Indeed, once it is completed, progress will roll continuously and provide financial stability in many countries.

Thank you very much! It was a truest stimulating and informative program. There was a vivid flow of images and ideas that brought to life today’s dynamic realities in Uzbekistan, and how these processes are related to the New Silk Road project.
The idea that Uzbekistan is the buckle of this
Trans Asian section increased the programs significance. Every interview increased my understanding of the complex dynamics and the various and extensive degree of collaboration necessary to plan, implement and connect all the varying aspects the the marvelous SilkRoad project.
What is really astounding are the consequences and opportunities for the positive development for people throughout the length of the Silk Road. Just the example of the youngsters in the infant’s school were aware of m, and enjoyed the fact, that they could greet strangers in four languages was delightful.
Of course, the interviewing and filming was brilliant! It takes an expert to catch the moment, there were many moments each of them pedagogical.

With the investment from China, Uzbek people now have a job and in long term they surely will lifted from poverty and later become prosperous.
And the China company also give a great help in supporting the local kids get well education by teaching 4 languages at once, it's tremendous cos i'd never seen an education center like that.
Meanwhile in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Libya which used to be well-fed populations change into increasing starving populations. Very sad story in human race history...

Perhaps this signals a change in the stand of the Singapore policy makers and government?

Now after 6 years of successfully transforming many cities along it's route, people's doubts are fading away and replaced with confidence and optimism nowadays.

@JarJarBinks Also, China is lending with very low interest rate. Most of the countries only need to pay the principle. The theory behind it is boosting the economy of participating countries so they can consume more. Thus, China, with highest and excessive capacity can sell goods to those countries with more purchasing power, so can the US and any other countries. How is that a bad deal anyway? The US is afraid of competition in a new market with China, so it just wants to stop a new market to grow? That's stupid af.

Wow the part about the old soviet metro stations was interesting the way it was presented. It had the same tone as looking at the ruins of some ancient civilization. Seems as time passes the soviet union becomes more and more of a historical era than of an urgent controversy like it was during the cold war.
