Grading Barber Half Dollars

These old half dollars are becoming valuable today in the nicer “collectable” condition. How to grade the finer points of Barber half dollars separates the lower silver bullion pieces and finds those collector quality coins.

Show me where I can buy G4 Barber Halves that good and I'll buy them all day long. The grading companies have loosened up. I'd expect a G4 of today to have the reverse rim worn into the lettering, and a weak but better rim on the obverse. The G4 pictured here might grade VG8 today.
