BEING BORN AND HERE ON KAUA'I IN '63 HOME TO MY FATHERS HAWAIIAN ANCESTORS WE DID A BICENTENIAL TOUR IN '76 OF THE UPPER FOURTY EIGHTS FROM LA TO MAINE AND BACK TO LA AND KINGS ISLAND WAS ONE OF OUR FAVORITES STOPS! THE ROLLERCOASTER WAS INSANE FOR A SEVENTH GRADER FROM KAUA'I! LOL! THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT MEMORY! ALOHA FROM BEAUTIFUL KAUA'I!
I'm from Mason. Class of '98. Kings Island was my first job at 15 in the summer of '95. Got paid $5.25/hr to serve corndogs and hamburgers w/ fries at the Cafe Kilimonjaro. Best time of my life. The Drop Zone had JUST been built. A few years later they changed the name to Drop Tower.
In those days you could tell what part of the country you where in just by looking at peoples fashion choices and hair styles ,like at this time Ohio was pretty much still conservative compared to places like California .
Me encanta ver estos videos!!! Los años dorados!!! Disfruto viendo a esa gran sociedad que habia, pasándoselo bien, no los zombis que vemos actualmente..
There's a lot of people including myself that live around the Cincinnati area who are watching these moving images of the past, images that bring about a sense of nostalgia.
I can’t remember the canoes at all. It’s my home park and I’ve gone every year since 1972 when I was 6 years old, my Grandparents took me. Now I’m 59, and I take my grandkids.
Me as well! I was born in 72 and live an hour away.. I grew up going here every year and my kids grew up going all summer long! Season passes.. it’s changed a lot!
@@alightinthedarkministr8719We went there this summer, and there just wasn't as much to do as there was when I was a kid, if you can believe that. I'm hearing impaired and wear a bandana to cover hair loss, so we couldn't do the swimming part, either.
@@atlantic_love it's definitely not as fun as it was even a few years ago. We stay away from the water park as its so crowded. We go and ride the roller coasters and go home. Hard to have fun these days anywhere it seems!
When I was 5 years old they tried to get me on that rollercoaster. I’m so afraid of roller coasters they offered me $40. and I still refused. That’s a lot of money back then.
Wrong. That was and still is the racer. Red racer and blue racer. It was the original roller-coaster at Kings Island. In fact, a few years after this video, they made it for one side to go backwards. Cutting edge for the time.
Buttoned down shirts with collars, slacks tucked in and belts. No gangs of teenagers alone with only their own peer groups. Lots of families. Two fat people and they were probably not even fat by today's standards.

So cool!
Why all caps?
This feels like I've tapped into someone's brain and gotten a look into their memories
I live 20min from here! I was born in 2000 so this is cool to see

It still is pretty much conservative!
@@alex337x2 yea we can say most biker groups like hells angels are conservative these days. Conservatives means a different thing these days
We pass King's Island a lot ! We drive truck! Oh , I want to go! 🚛🌜
What a load of shit.
I was either in my Mom's womb or just a baby during this time. Looks like real fun times. Heaven on earth at the theme park.

Was thinking about the BRADYS too!
What about the car magazines?
@Barry L....I love the Brady Bunch reference😂😂Awesome!!

Was looking for the Brady family.
I think there's another video on UA-cam regarding Kings Island and the Brady Bunch.
My favorite episode of The Brady Bunch!💗

I believe this is the first I’ve seen that roulette wheel ride . I don’t remember it I’m the same age as the park born 72
Kenny Rogers and The First Edition preformed at my Senior Grad night at Kings Island 1973

The canoes were located in Rivertown area. The lake was drained and the Beast roller coaster was built at that site.
50 Years! like Honky Chateau!
🤣🤣
That black spider ride is when i learned i had motion sickness back in the late 70s😅
😍
I was born that year, and less than an hour and a half away.

@1:58 that kid in the front pops-up........ Dear Coaster designers: it's called negative G's
I was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio in 1991 so kings island isn’t that faraway.
A Wurlitzer 157 plays on that carousel in this video. The carousel is PTC 79.
هل هذه الاشياء كانت موجوده بالفعل قبل مولدي بعشر سنوات كم هذا غريب

BACK BEFORE YOU SAID HOUSER!!😂
I know this roller coaster, it was American Eagle from 1970’s before moving to Six Flags Great America in 1981.
Interesting information Steven
That's incorrect. It was never moved from Kings Island. American Eagle is similar in some ways, but different.

It's called the racer
I used to love riding the backwards cars! They no longer run it backwards..
