AMEN! I was WFPB'd for 6 years. Now that I'm older (69) my doctor said in Oct 2023, that I need more protein. And I love your channel Lillie!
Lillie you are "killing it" with these easy to follow guidance videos. I've been following since the start of world carnivore month 2025. This is a new mindset and new menu for me. The way you outline daily food items and amounts has helped me understand not just what to eat, but why. You are teaching and I am learning! Thanx Coach!
I completely changed my diet six months ago based on nationally recommended guidelines, but it only made my health worse. It wasn’t until I read 'The 23 Former Doctor Truths' that I realized doing the opposite of what the government advises can actually make a difference. No wonder the doctor who wrote it left their career-speaking the truth often challenges the system!
An adult can actually live solely on a women's breast milk. Even cows milk is one of the best go to for protein. I don't waste time on vegetables or fruit. And im 65 and lift for strength 5 days a week. My stomach actually shrunk when I went to almost a 100 percent carnivore diet. And eat far less now than i did when eating lots of vegetables. And for those complaining about the price of meat, i buy when on sale or buy one get one free and I stock up. My grocery bill actually went down.
I’ve killed three deer this season so far. To get them processed and add beef fat into the ground parts it comes out to about $3/pound. Pretty cheap and stocks the freezer
So let's break that down... 6% protein, 54% fat (1/2 of that saturated) and 40% carbs. There is no way we need 1 lb of protein per lb of body weight. What we need is insulin sensitivity.
I was just doing a little calculation for us Europeans, so 454g = 1lbs, so 250g of ground beef, 200g chicken thigh, 200g Greek yogurt, and 3 eggs equals 130g of protein, 94g of fat, 6g carbs and totals about 1417 calories. It's really easy to hit your goal. And you really don't need THAT much meat. I mean, what's 200g tigh and 250g ground beef, really not that much! Will definitely download that cheat sheet. 😁 I have started my workout again and will focus on better sleep this year to reach my goal.
That's me wanting to weigh 130 lbs, everyone needs to calculate their Marcos differently, of course!!! BTW eggs are awesome!!! I love them for breakfast, they give me such a wonderful feeling of being happily full. :-)

Hi Lillie, or is it Lily?? Anyway I am going to start eating more protein and was wondering about the amount and kind of protein and now you have answered all my questions on where to start. Thank you very very much. 😀
I could NOT lose weight when I ate 1 gram of protein per lb of ideal body weight. Once I dropped it to an amount that came naturally to me, I finally came out of my plateau and was able to continue losing fat. I still feel just as strong, actually stronger, so I don’t think it’s muscle I’m losing. Not everyone needs that much protein and excess protein WILL get stored as fat.
Suggestion is 1/2 - 1 gm of ideal body weight of protein. This is a big difference. It is good to know that you CAN eat too much protein to lose weight. A slightly hungry feeling means you are losing weight, and should NOT be avoided.

I tried vegetarian. My blood protein fully tanked. I was diagnosed with malnourishment. I started eating meat again, and I still struggle. It's hard to eat that much. Question: We are told that protein and fat will keep us full longer than other foods. Yet, unless I gorge until uncomfortable, I still get hungry within a few hours, and end up going way over on calories for the day. Are my hunger and satiety cues broken? 😅

Hi Lillie, I love your videos thanks so much. Could you please do a video about relieving constipation on carnivore? It’s been a huge problem since I’ve been on this diet. Thanks!
Add more fat and drink more water (with a pinch of salt in each glass). Start taking a good quality magnesium supplement. Magnesium carries water into the cell membrane.
You might try attending a live UA-cam session with one of these UA-cam channels Dr Ken Berry Dr Anthony Chaffee UK Carnivore CoachStephen In those live sessions, you can get your individual questions answered by doctors and experts Your best chance of getting your personal question answered would probably be with the UK carnivore coach Stephen, because his audiences are still smaller than the others for some reason even though he is EXCELLENT. Good luck to you 😊❤
Can't say it enough: start the carnivore diet with Betaine HCL supplementation and it will be so much easier. It improves the appetite among other benefits.
That’s a good piece of advice. My husband and I are actually going to make a video covering HCL sometime soon as it was a necessary for him at one point. Hope you have a great week!😊
I used to have the same problem, Kurth, and used the same solution: OMAD but around 7pm. And then I'd still hope to fall asleep before the munchies began, lol! AND I couldn't lose any weight for some reason then either! Finally, however, after about a year on carnivore, I decided to take Lillie's advice and increased my protein from 100gm to 130-140gm, and mostly from beef instead of the more varied carnivore diet I was ingesting. And that much protein required me to also go from OMAD to 2MAD! But to my surprise, with that change in total protein.(based on 1 gm per kilogram of actual body weight), I can now eat my final meal as early as 5 or even 4 pm and I never get the munchies later anymore! And to my even greater surprise, I finally started losing weight as well! In fact, I lost 26 lbs in about 6 weeks initially. And I'm still losing, but just more slowly. In fairness, however, I also stopped taking OTC antihistamines then too, after reading that they can cause weight gain. And so I can't be sure which change is the most responsible for the weight loss. However, I'm certain it's the increase in total daily protein that has put an end to my evening cravings for a snack. Even my desire for sweets!
If you're hungry after dinner, chances are you're either new to carnivore/ketovore way of eating, or you're not eating enough. If you eat as she is recommending, you won't be hungry after your meals.
So do you break that 1 lb of meat and a four eggs and the dairy do you break that down to like if I only want to eat two meals a day half a pound of meat in the morning with four eggs and then a half a pound of meat for dinner or if I want to do all three
I saw a video with Dr. Eric Berg where he recommends 0.8 to 1.2g of protein per kilogram of body weight, which appears to be for a more sedentary adult. It seems like 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight is a guideline more recommended for athletes, bodybuilders, or people aiming to gain muscle mass or lose fat while preserving muscle. It would be great to get some more insight on this.
Nope, the general recommendation is 1 GRAM (g) protein per pound of IDEAL body weight, not current weight. If a person weighs 600 pounds and should weigh 200 pounds, their daily protein consumption should be around 200 g of protein, which is contained in approximately 2 pounds of beef
@@nancycy9039 I'm aware it's ideal body weight or otherwise lean body mass, as I mentioned that is a recommendation for somebody that is more sedentary. Dr Eric Westman has said about 1 to 1.5g per kg (or 2 if active), so does the Mayo clinic. I think it really does depend on how active a lifestyle a person has, and Lillie does have a particularly active one, so that does need to be taken into consideration.
@@nancycy9039 I'm aware it's ideal weight or lean body mass, which I mentioned this range appears to be for more of a sedentary lifestyle. Dr Eric Westman has mentioned a range of 1g to 1.5g per kg (or 2g if more active), the Mayo Clinic has also mentioned this range. Lillie is probably more active than most that watch her channel, so that may be something to keep in mind.
Great video Lillie! In the last section of the video, you recommend half beef because of the fat content (for energy). If I want to LOSE weight (burn body fat), would eating more lean meats encourage my body to burn existing fat stores for energy? Thanks so much!

:20😂. Omg I will eat anything except canned oysters. Fresh oysters are absolutely wonderful, with a fresh slightly briny taste and the texture of soft butter 🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪🤌✨
@vdublady there are so many great foods with mental hurdles. The absolute craziest thing I can't see myself ever getting past is jellied eel😑. I love eel, but don't love biting into gelatinous bones. Oysters are easier because either they're fried and you can eat them and enjoy the flavor and texture if you don't peek at the inside! Raw, the texture is really nicely masked by something crunchy like a cracker, and the taste is complimented very well with a little spice and salt as well as citrus. I'm not out here raw dogging any type of oysters to be real though.

You may have gained weight because your body actually needed to heal and rebalance your hormones. From what I’ve learned this seems to be a somewhat common phenomenon amongst Carnivores. It’s kind of counterintuitive. You may gain weight, but lose fat since muscle weighs more than fat. Rather than using “weight” as a gauge it is suggested that you take your measurements (hips, waist, thighs, chest, arms, shoulders) and record them. Carnivores advocates say trust the process and be patient. Your body will restructure itself and often you may not lose weight or even gain weight for a while but you’ll see changes in your muscles. You could also get a dexascan if you REALLY wanted to know your fat to muscle ratio. Good luck on your journey! Don’t give up!
I only ate twice a day. Maybe I needed to heal but I can’t fit into any of my clothes now so I was already heavy hence needing to lose and now I’m 20 lbs heavier.
@ I am heavier now as well. But with me it is because I began eating carbs and sugar as well. This is a recipe to gain weight. Eat more fat! Don’t forget to drink water. Bingo!
Add more fat
Add more fat and drink more water (with a pinch of salt in each glass).
Start taking a good quality magnesium supplement. Magnesium carries water into the cell membrane.
I have no problems and I actually save lots of toilet paper. It's amazing.😊
Thank you. Good info. I have mild renal insufficiency = I have to reduce my proteins. It's getting complicated. Any ideas?
You might try attending a live UA-cam session with one of these UA-cam channels
Dr Ken Berry
Dr Anthony Chaffee
UK Carnivore CoachStephen
In those live sessions, you can get your individual questions answered by doctors and experts
Your best chance of getting your personal question answered would probably be with the UK carnivore coach Stephen, because his audiences are still smaller than the others for some reason even though he is EXCELLENT.
Good luck to you 😊❤
When you say 1 lb of meat is that 1 lb raw or 1 lb cooked?
I'm fairly sure in the first two months I've started this 90% of the days I have eaten ground beef and eggs xd.
Love your videos!:) Thanks!
My kids loved your reaction eating steak at the 6:14 mark 😁😁😁
Can't say it enough: start the carnivore diet with Betaine HCL supplementation and it will be so much easier. It improves the appetite among other benefits.
That’s a good piece of advice. My husband and I are actually going to make a video covering HCL sometime soon as it was a necessary for him at one point. Hope you have a great week!😊
Dang, appreciate this comment. I forgot Betaine existed and I have trouble digesting fat. Ordering that now 😂
Yes makes all the difference!
If you are trying to avoid dairy how much protein is that worth so you can add to either eggs or meat?
I have issues with snaking after supper. I found that, eating supper later, 6, 7 p.m., eliminates snacking.
I'm 65 and don't know the last time that I.... Snacked.
All great advice. Here’s what I’ve been typically doing.
* Breakfast: 5 pasture-raised eggs cooked in beef tallow 🥚🆙 with optional black coffee ☕️🆙 and medications.
* Elevenses: Organic pulp-free orange juice steeped with saffron ⬇️ and fish 🐡 (rotate between herring, salmon, and barramundi)
* Brunch: Organic pulp-free orange juice steeped with saffron and fish 🐡⬇️ (rotate between herring, salmon, and barramundi)
* Lunch: Wild blueberries 🫐⬅️
* Supper: Cacao sweetened with wildflower honey 🍯➡️
* Water 💦⬅️
* Dinner: Grass-finished 80/20 ground beef 🥩➡️
* Bovine colostrum when healing 🅱️
* A pound of beef liver each month 🅰️

Thanks for sharing
What are your macro breakdowns for this, if you keep track?
Protein, Fat, Carbs..
Thanks
@@troytmd depends largely on how much orange juice I drink. If I’m more physically, active I drink more and if I’m more sedentary that day, I’ll drink much less
Lillie what are some good carbs to add back in to my carnivore diet I've been on for 3 years? I feel like I'll react to everything because it's been out of my diet so long... ugh that's the only down side of carnivore i feel is you can't introduce foods back in without obviously reacting... what are some good options?
Great video - thank you! If you can't have eggs or dairy - how many pounds of meat would you need a day?
Listen to the video for your answer!!
@@nancycy9039 I just heard "more meat" not how many pounds as a general rule - thanks for the reply though.
@@cheyennehartford8424 she specifically says 1 gram protein per pound of ideal body weight
@@cheyennehartford8424
1 gram protein per ideal body weight.
So if you want to weigh 140 pounds, eat 140 grams protein daily.😊
Be sure to measure by protein… don’t just weigh the meat.
You can use the internet to measure
or an app or Lillie’s chest sheet which is in the video description 😊😊😊💙
How would these protein goals change when someone is pregnant? I'm currently 20 weeks and not sure if I should be going for more than my ideal weight
Whats pots and pans brand do you use?
Do we weigh the meat before or after cooking it, For proper protein count?
Should the pound of meat be a pound of raw meat or a pound of cooked meat?
Great question, 1lb raw that when cooked would weigh less than 1lb
So, Lily, you are not recommending ½ a plate of beef and ½ a plate of starch veg (peas). Right? From listening, it seems you mean ½ from meat and ½ from other proteins?
Stuffing myself on a pound meat and 4 eggs?😂😂😂
Easy peasy for me
Thank you for your guide. To me it has been so confusing! I can’t seem to stomach much ground beef due to I am lactose intolerance. So no dairy for me😢Since I have upped my meat, I have gained weight. I feel heavy and tired when I walk.
Hi Lillie, if I am not able to work out on a certain day do can I still eat as much protein?
I have found it difficult to eat so much protein, and I am also getting throat burn, about a couple of hours after eating my protein.
My friend is diabetes type 1 and I told him to dump vinegar, is his diabetes caused from the thick mold,?
So, can i finally cook my ground beef with chia seeds?
😅😅😅
:20😂. Omg I will eat anything except canned oysters. Fresh oysters are absolutely wonderful, with a fresh slightly briny taste and the texture of soft butter 🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪🦪🤌✨
I’m with Lillie!! 🤮🤮 lol… but hubs thinks just like you!! 😋
Keto cheesecake is also good!
What about the high levels of oxolates in sardines and liver?
Those foods don’t contain oxalates
Did you mean to say high purine foods?
I have read that sardines and liver have oxolates.

Need to gain healthy weight!
I’m not sure what I did wrong but I gained a a lot of weight while doing the carnivore. Followed what everyone recommends and I steadily gained
Do not eat ever unless you are hungry. Pursue that slightly hungry feeling. Do not eat in between you 2 meals a day.
You may have gained weight because your body actually needed to heal and rebalance your hormones. From what I’ve learned this seems to be a somewhat common phenomenon amongst Carnivores. It’s kind of counterintuitive.
You may gain weight, but lose fat since muscle weighs more than fat.
Rather than using “weight” as a gauge it is suggested that
you take your measurements (hips, waist, thighs, chest, arms, shoulders) and record them.
Problem is I gained fat. Not muscle. Thank you for the info. It’s frustrating. I will return to it once I e lost some of this weight.
Now I have just begun to wean myself off the crabs and sugar and eating when I feel like it. I am going back to ketovore. Carnivore with some other foods like avocado for example.
