Simple Elegant Daily Makeup: In this video, I will show you how I do my daily, very simple and quick makeup look. I do my makeup without brushes, contouring or foundation. It is very light to wear and looks like no makeup makeup-look. I am a strong believer that makeup should highlight features and not completely transform them. I also believe that little makeup is always better than no makeup. You look effortless yet always prepped. Studies have shown in fact that people with a little bit of makeup are often perceived more professional than those without makeup. Skincare is a must but little makeup is always highly encouraged.

*Edit- not to get too personal, but I didn't have a mother who could teach me things like what you teach, and it seems like every makeup tutorial I see does all the contour stuff and the blending, and I just can't keep up with it and it's just not my style. I usually don’t like commenting on someone's makeup techniques, but to answer your musings, generally the so-called "best" way of applying highlighter is by tapping & blending a little highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones, a tiny bit under the arch of your eyebrow, & sometimes just above the your cupid's bow. Hope this satiated your curiosity 😀

Love that you mentioned the note about not applying bronzer because of your cool toned skin. I also have cool undertones, so bronzer always looks muddy on my skin tone. Sometimes I can get away with it during the summer months when I have a slight tan (I usually burn then tan), but even then, I feel like I have to add bronzer to every part of exposed skin to make it look cohesive with my face makeup (which takes too much time for everyday!). Anyways, such a lovely video!!

I love how simple yet elegant your routine is although I think the eyeliner pencil you mentioned is actually an eyebrow one. I use an eyebrow pencil for my eyes all the time but keep in mind the blending side that looks a bit like a toothbrush is a little to abrasive to use on your eyelid. I love using my hands to its a really good way of making ur makeup look a little seamless making the skin look like you've just done a skincare routine

I have learned to show myself without makeup during the pandemic (as the masks were covering most of the face anyway) and kept doing that from time to time. I found that people tend to be much harsher on themselves, feeling that blemish x is "so prominent everyone else sees it", but in reality it's just not that big of a deal.
I still love doing my makeup but I am also not afraid to show myself without makeup anymore.

Hi Jamila, you are so very beautiful. I just wanted to gently suggest using more sunscreen on your face in order to get the stated SPF on the bottle. I recommend using the two finger rule which is as follows - squirt sunscreen in a line along the full length of both your forefinger and your middle. Then apply this entire amount to your face. Anything less will not be sufficient, and will make you more prone to sun damage, etc. Hope that is helpful. :)
