Meet a stranger in a public place only. Safety first. Great point, Jamila. Specially for your young public. I would add: trust your guts. If it does not feel right, better go away.

No one's ever been kidnapped from a Starbucks, it's not that big of a deal to meet the person for the first time, as long as it is in a safe public place during daytime hours & make sure the man drives away before you do. If you can see his car, snap a picture of the license plate just in case, then relax.

@walkerskii Really goes to show how there is nothing relaxing dating as a woman. I mostly have bad experiences with men. Rarely really good, sometimes okay, but often bad.

Great tips and you look beautiful! I am sure though that you don’t believe the woman should ever be expected to pay or split it. You are a feminine and seem like you have basic traditional values so I’m confident that if you were dating, and the man expected you to pay, you would be immediately turned off. No self-respecting gentlemen would ever do that.

In Finland is more common and socially acceptable to split the bill. But personally, if he doesnt offer the meal, I take it he is just not that into me. That is fine. There will be no second date then.

She's one of the rare gems that teach etiquette in a way that's approachable. Some people tend to have this air of superiority around themselves which is very off-putting. I appreciate that she approaches etiquette related to different settings rather than just the usual table manner discussion.

Lovely dress but it would "ride up" when seated and might be hard to keep closed for modesty. I've also worn the wrong shoes before and my date wanted to take a walk when I had uncomfortable shoes. It was so awkward.

20:30 is such an important point, I can't stand when people do that, as a woman myself this is such a shitty behavior and red flag 🚩🚩🚩
Don't order something much more expensive than the person that's covering the expense

Hello, i liked your video. But in my opinion in the dating world nowadays, especially in the nordic countries, people do not go on dinner dates in the first date. Nowadays people like to go on more casual dates i.e. coffee, evening walk or for a glass of wine instead of going to a dinner. I have a lot of friends (males and females) who would never go on a dinner date as a first date here in Finland since it is not a custom to do so. I want to get to know the person in a casual setting and there is a high probability that if we are not matching, I would not see them again. A dinner date would be better after the third or fourth date when you have started to get to know the person better. I do not know how it works in other countries with each of their own cultures, but in Finland it wouldn't work. But I liked your video and the advice that came with it and it will be useful when going on dinner dates and/or generally going to dinner with friends. :)

I’ve experienced the same general dating attitude in California, where I’m from. Many men will suggest coffee and a casual stroll, which is perfectly fine. I’ve only been on a dinner date with a man who was my boyfriend. I would love to go on more dinner dates though and love the video.👍

I live in Finland and I often go on a dinner for a first date. But young people rarely do this I think. Lunch often too. Rarely drinks and never just for a walk. I go on just walk with friends.

Walking only I do with friends, is nothing romantic about that for me personally. I guess I am old fashioned.

The first time you meet a person, it should not be considered a first date, unless you have had a video chat. It takes so much pressure off the situation to meet for a cup of tea, to make sure you both feel comfortable with the other person, then you can look forward to the first date with someone you've met before.

If you drop something on the floor leave it for the server because it’s unsanitary to put it back on the table. Servers should know to help and give you a new napkin etc

Hi jamila hope you doing well.
I am a fan of you since long. Wish to read your books for a long time.good to know that recently you have started international shipping methods which will allow lot of people from around the world to read your books but it would be great if you also keep an option to buy pdf versions of the books. Like obviously nowadays working woman with kids will only have an option to read books in between our breaktime at office. Which will made lot easier if we can read those in laptops. Also the shipping charge is so high. I understand you are not taking the shipping charges but paying shipping charges more than the books make us think twice about it. Readers like me wont mind to pay the same price for the pdf or online .

Right off the bat, I'd just like to say this: regarding the choice of venue- if you LOVE Japanese food and you happen to know that your date absolutely does not, then that's probably a sign that the relationship won't last long-term imo. It may seem silly, but food is a huge part of life and cutting back on your favorite foods indefinitely will eventually lead to unhappiness

    One gentle note here:
In China, we don't take pride in leaving unfinished food on the table, at least not anymore. It's not uncommon to see people packing up the leftover and eat it the next day. It's a common practice to order something first, then add-on if more is needed (to avoid wasting food).
I'd say this "the guest finishes their food = the host doesn't order enough" is a very old-fashion dining culture in business (with superiors) and with family (with seniors) to show that you genuinely want to treat them well.
