This is an awesome channel and very informative videos. UA-cam is sometimes unfair. Some idiotic "influencers" have millions of views while educational videos stay hidden.
I skipped ahead 40 seconds... then, a bit later, stopped at "I took him by the head, and he flapped his wings". The Great Auks were majestic, beautiful creatures that unfortunately had everything humans wanted. And, humans, by their nature, never realize what Natures gives until it is too late. Great video. I highly recommend this channel to anyone looking for reality in a sea of misinformation and hype.
This is a really well made video, thought you would have atleast 100k subscribers basing on how good the video quality was but I was extremely surprised by how low your sub count is. I liked and subscribed so this channel hopefully gets the fame it deserves. Keep up the great work my man
Why don’t you get to think of a suggestion and creating a UA-cam Videos all about the Extinct Marine Mammals, Steller’s Sea Cows (Hydrodamalis gigas), also known as the Northern Sea Cows, or the Great Northern Sea Cows on the next Paleofactus coming up next?!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍
The good news is we'll be able to bring them back. More than enough DNA of the Great Auk exists for a successful de-extinction effort. The same is true of the Dodo. Scientists aim to bring these two species of flightless birds back from extinction.
We need to use modern de-extinction techniques to bring this bird, the Great Auk back. We don't need to bring this bird back for the purpose of having it occupy its former ecological niche. That has already been filled in by the Puffins. We need to bring it back so we can have live specimens that people can enjoy seeing in zoos and so that, if farmed, people can have the opportunity to enjoy its delicious meat that's red like beef. It was described as the most flavorful meat of all birds (that were regularly consumed for food), far more flavorful than chicken, turkey and goose and duck! And that was its downfall. It was said that it was such good eating that people unfortunately could not resist hunting this majestic marine bird all the way to extinction. This time around, if successfully brought back, they should domestically raise them (just like chickens and ducks), for food. I'd try it!
An interesting video but idk if the Native American hunting of Great Auks was relentless if the species was doing fine before Europeans showed up. It wasn't hunting for food that killed this thing. It was capitalism
The Great Auk salutes you! (with it's tapered, flattened flipper)

Noooooooooooooooooooo
Really sad about the great Auk. The best bird.
If they do it to humans it's (rightly) taught in schools as a case study in evil. If it happens to animals it's just Thursday.
Exactly
