Hey cas I'm sorry im 5 days late! 😂 I have followed some of your clutter bug ways... my bathroom drawers are winning still... I work full time as a carer I'm close to burn out. This 5 min a day through Sept is inspiring me. I love your energy ✨️ ❤
Cas is almost to 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!! Let’s do this for her - subscribe, like and share and comment here so we can get her over the 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS!!!
Thank you!!
I like decluttering too much.
I love Cas?❤
done 😊

You look great in turquoise.
That’s what I came to comment! :)
Oh thank you!
@@Clutterbug it makes your eyes look like tourmaline! Gorgeous! 🩵
You're so right! Really suits her
Yes it's beautiful on u but i think u make it beautiful. Cuz ur amazeballs Cas
Right now my sisters and I are cleaning out our parents' house because our dad just past away. I am trying to clean my house because it is awful. And I am a teacher, trying to declutter and organize my classroom. I am overwhelmed, but i want to stick with this 5 minutes a day.
You can do it! Same! I’ve been overwhelmed too but these mini tasks are where it’s at. Just the top of the desk one day. Then the side teacher table or one shelf. You can do it!! Best wishes!
I feel for you. (((Hugs))) Little by little it will all get done.
So sorry for the loss of your Dad, that’s very hard
The most powerful advice I always go back to is "everything is going to end up in the dumpster " I always had guilt about throwing things away, but I don't live near a donation center so I would either keep things or drive around with them in my car for months. Not anymore, no more guilt about tossing things out.
I’m glad you clarified not to “stuff shuffle” because I find myself doing that sometimes!
I do it all the time. My mom is big on "Move stuff once. Put it where it belongs," but so much of my stuff doesn't seem to have a home. So I shuffle, shuffle, shuffle all day long.
Cas, so last year on my 50th birthday I adopted a cat but because my house is such a mess my daughter housed him. Well a year has gone by and I still can’t house him. My daughter and her boyfriend broke up. So when she said we need to talk about the cat I was nervous. Well her boyfriend said he wants him because he has been taking care of him. So when you said it’s not about the cat I burst out laughing 😂! This is my sign I need to get my house in order. Thanks Cas for all your support.
Jenna, this almost makes me cry. Animals are so precious! Wonder how your kitty feels that you don't love him enough to prepare your home for him? That really breaks my heart. Please forgive me for being harsh, but animals are always dumped on and not really given the attention they deserve. Please find a way to bring him home with you. Please?
@@elizabethsydnor5247 I don’t need to explain myself but I’m not going to let you try to make me feel bad. I adopted him from a shelter and I don’t know him because he has lived with my daughter and boyfriend for the past year. They broke up and her boyfriend asked to keep him because he has bonded with him and taken care of him the entire time. I think that is love.
@@elizabethsydnor5247no need to be rude. She made sure the cat had a loving home.
@@elizabethsydnor5247The cat IS being taken care of. The boyfriend wants to KEEP him because he likes, or likely LOVES the cat.
@@elizabethsydnor5247 Sounds like the cat never bonded with her but with the boyfriend (ex-boyfriend) ... so it's better the cat is with him or her daughter.
The permission to suck is so important! I went to my front closet and started looking at coats and shoes and realizing I need my family to try things on and I started to get overwhelmed. Then I realized all I needed was 5 THINGS. I found 5 random items (2 bubble wands, an old kid umbrella, puppy pee pads, and a wall sign I don’t like). So I DID IT!
I did it this morning. 1 scarf, 1 pair of gloves, 1 decoration heart, 1 small bag of decoration stones and 1 empty box
I like decluttering but my brain can't focus on where to start. Having you tell me what we are decluttering today is what's going to help me the most.I'm excited for this 😁Thank you ❤
Me too! Or I somehow I end up pulling stuff out from all over the house and barely decluttering anything (happens way more often than I want to admit 😂). What makes it even worse, I end up shoving it all back where it came from because I ran out the energy or time to deal with it and can’t stand looking at it anymore.
My brain struggles to focus on where to start, too! I have so much to do that whatever I choose to do I feel guilty about all the things I'm not doing. At least for five minutes a day I'll know I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to do. I've done it for three days now and the feel-good feeling is spilling over and making me more motivated about everything.

I Feel Your Pain!
Donations go straight into the back of the car. Last carful, I tried for a week to take it to the "good" thrift store without success, as they kept closing their loading dock due to weather, etc. Finally, I just put it all into one of those parking lot donation bins. I need to remember, my stuff is not a cat, it doesn't need to be perfectly rehomed! I just sorted bags of crayons, markers, and colored pencils out of our arti supplies and was wondering if I should drop them off at the Y or maybe the elementary school... Nope, it's going into the box for the next thrift store dropoff, doesn't need to go to the "best" place, just needs to be gone!
You should see if you have VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America) are in your area because they will pick up donations for free from you. I use them and it works out well for me.
“Your stuff is not a cat that you have to re-home!” 😂🤣😂 This nails it because I often think I have to find the perfect recipient for my stuff.
My mom & catering died of an aneurysm in 2019. I then needed to care for my poor feeble daddy. The house was like you just said floor to ceiling with a tiny path my daddy had to maneuver his walker. So I did it all. The pain along with the anger I had for my mom while caring 24 hours a day for dad. It was awful. When daddy died in 2021 the house was really clean. That’s when I finally broke down to grieve the loss of these amazeballs people. Get this. The house was left to my sister. Guess what it looks like now 😤😠😕😢I refuse to leave this world leaving a mess for my loved ones. Really if you care for your family do not do this to them.
Just want to send you a big hug. You did amazing and I hope you can find peace. I know similar Storys where people did so much for parents/Family and where left with nothing or not much. While they (and I am sure you didn't) didn't do it because of that, it hurts...bei blessed
God bless you. It is so hard taking care of parents. You will be rewarded. I relate to this and I am So proud of you:
Fits in with spring feasts and fall feasts in the Bible! There’s a burst to get the house ready for celebrations and to “clean house” spiritually twice a year.
The difference between declutter and tidy is very important. I'm glad you clarified that.
I’m in! My husband is in hospice, we are moving, garage sale, etc SOOOOOO this takes my mind in a different direction! Thank you! Today I picked up 5 pieces of trash!
Signed up for the 30-day challenge. The first spot to address is the coat closet or entryway. I said, “I don’t need to declutter that - I’ve done it recently!” But I checked anyway - got rid of two pairs of boots, relocated a scarf and a sweater, and recycled an empty box. Cas knows best!
I love you so much. I have changed my home life because of you many years ago. I was decluttered. I was on time. I was organized. I have free time. 4 years and another baby later I'm back at square one. I want to take my home back. I am so ready for this change again 😂. Thanks so much Cas!
Your idea of any task that takes less than 2 minutes do it right away.. totally was a game changer! Love your videos❤
Cas! You have helped me move forward by just doing it imperfectly instead of waiting till I can "do it right." And.....my home has never stayed so consistently tidy. Who knew? Thank you so much for giving permission to do things imperfectly. 😂
I wish I dould get my adult(50 y/o) daughter to watch you. I think then she might not feel so alone and different. She will make you tired just being in the room with her she is so ADHD. I also am ADHD (and OCD) but I learned how to reign mine in many years ago and manage pretty well most of the time. I love your videos and would have loved to have had someone like you in my corner when I was younger and more able. Even with my advanced age and disabilities, I have gained a lot from watching your videos. Thank you.
I have learned SO much from you! We are selling our house now that the kids are off to university and we have decluttered truck loads of stuff! I called and discussed the amount of donations with the manager of my preferred charity and she agreed to take everything even though it was so much. I’m feeling very stressed about moving but the decluttering is an awesome feeling!
This is the 1st challenge I know I can actually finish.
Cas you are awesome.
I am looking forward to it. It is September 1st and I did not see this last night. I believe I already have three things. There's a pillow in two lotions that have turned rancid. I have two more things. That was less than 3 minutes. All in my bedroom. I watched the video for Saturday before I found this video. At 66 years old it's all good. I just don't want my children to have to do this after I am gone in, hopefully , 20 plus years...
I’ve been decluttering daily and contact VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America) that comes to pick it all up. I store all donations in black bags and the spare bathroom for the week. I’m not perfect and do it daily 5-15 minutes. Best not to get overwhelmed because it never stops and I incorporate it into my daily routine. I’ve learned so much listening and watching Cas for more than a year and the bonus is that she is extremely motivating. Thank you Cas for another video that helps me declutter my home but never the hubby’s stuff, lol.
I truly appreciate you doing this for free ❤ I TRULY NEED THIS! Thank you Cas ❤
Take Your House Back member excited to see Cas every day for 30 days!!
For the lady who cannot find time to take items to a donation center. I found out that some centers will pickup your items. I found a center that picks up in my area once a month. I just have to call and schedule them to pickup at my place and where the items will be. I put my items on my patio. They even leave a donation form in case I want to put the donation on my taxes. This might be an alternative for you.
Hey Cas! Love your sea foam top & necklace. Very pretty. Thanks for the pep talk & free stuff... especially the colorful calendar!🫶
Thank you SO MUCH Cas! This is so nice of you to do it for free! You have changed my life with your videos and courses!!! I love how real, and relatable you are! ❤
I’m a TYHB member. It is a game changer - the 3 of you are a match made in heaven 🥰
I think this has legitimately changed my life. I am always so concerned about things going to the landfill, but Cas is so right - just because I don't put it there doesn't mean the people at Goodwill or the people who buy it at Goodwill aren't going to just throw it away!! Wow! That is a total mindset shift for me and it's going to make decluttering so much easier for me.
Well Girlfriend,
You never cease to amaze. I am from generations of Clutterbugs. All I have to do is listen to your podcasts and start moving with your clear, get it done directions and my house clears a bit at a time. I didn't know what it would take to push back the collect it DNA. All it takes is Super Cass and things are moving. Love your Five- minute brain retrain.
Thanks thanks thanks!
Hi Cass, I have decluttered and kicked things to the curb labeled FREE
Cas, you look stunning in your outfit❣ That's a good color on you. 😊
Let me just say as I'm listening while
I work...I've done the 3 days so far and it is liberating! Also, for those who doubt, there IS a feeling of accomplishment with each day! Let's keep at it!!
I can’t tell you how timely this is in my life!! ❤❤❤I appreciate you so much!!! ❤❤
Dang- missed the live- by just a bit! Fall is my favorite and, because it will be COLD here in the winter- I want to do everything, including declutterring before it gets cold.
Right! Im going to do this! Im SO embarrassed by the state of my house
For a long time, I wouldn't get rid of things because I didn't want to take them to Goodwill since they are no longer a charity. Finally I had to ask myself, "What's more important to me - not supporting Goodwill, or getting stuff out of my house? ". Guess what - I WANT STUFF OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!! And what you said was a real revelation, that it's perfectly OK to just throw things away. YAAAAAY!!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉
Cas, thank you for saying that we can throw away our donations if we can't keep up with taking them to the thrift store. I needed that today, as I have about 4 boxes of donations that I haven't been able to take to the thrift store yet due to my health issues. Thank you. I'm going to throw them away until someday I have things more under control to do more. Love, love, love you, Cas! 💙
Hey Cas. I love your videos, so first off, thanks so much for wat you create! I'm another neurospicy person and I really really really suck at consistency. I start out on something with good intentions but things so often fall by the wayside, even when I start small. Hoping you being there will help me get past that this time.
Love the sucky September! I trained myself to put more stuff away by only doing that for 2.5 days straight. Now (in theory) I don’t leave a room worse than I walked into it even if it’s one thing. Need to do more though so this’ll be good for me. It’s the cleaning part that I need most motivation in.
when you have less stuff cleaning is so easy! no issue anymore, but.....do the laundry and do the dishes every day is the biggest game changer!
And 15 min pick up every day too...
@@-Mieke Yes. I do laundry every second day as it’s just me and finding the house easier to tidy now the hoarder moved out! It’s nice to see the floor now. I thought I was just going to vac upstairs today but found it went so quickly I was doing downstairs as well.
@@fionaschiffl8065 I'm so happy for you. There is nothing more enjoying than cleaning your house in "no" time. It get's easier.
And when you do it crappy as Cas says and a few times a year really good your house is always tidy and clean!
Wishing you all the best❤️🍀✨️
A week ago we lost power and our basement flooded😢. I have 6 shelves containing seasonal decor. Back up Pantry. LG appliances not used daily. But... some stuff in cardboard boxes that I'm throwing out. So this week I'm focusing there. Bur I'm very interested in the 30 day challenge. I've been following for awhile. I've changed my mindset about 85%. Still have " I don't wanna days" but so much better. Thanks Cass.
Cas, I started watching the podcast, then I just got up and sorted through some of the shoes I wanted to donate and those that needed to be thrown away! It's night time here so I just had to do something today so that I can take them out of the house tomorrow! It hasn't made a visible difference at first glance, but I do believe that by doing a bit everyday, i will see the results I want 🥰
Yes you will!!
I am part of the take your house back. Love it.
I’m signed up for the Challenge and I bought your book The Declutter Challenge through your website link. Now I’m trying to get Take Back Your Home to process my credit card and I’ll be ready to celebrate Autumn Equinox on 22 September. I’m starting from scratch in a hoarder house (mine) but I’m ready to change the Energy in my home!🎉🎉🎉
September is your month to transform!!!
In October and April my church has a rummage sale for missions. That is motivation to get rid of stuff someone else wants. The church earns 20-26 thousand each sale and those who purchased are happy too. Yes, we have leftovers which the Salvation Army, Humble Designs (sets up homes for homeless), and others take.
Thanks, Cas, for bugging me!!! I need it!!! 🐢
For anyone woth low self esteem....just put this episode on loop and you will be motivated....Cas thank you kindly for the way you are and the way you give us tough love ❤❤️❤️. Wow I'm just thankful to have found this program!!!
You hit the nail on the head - we don't need to control everything 🤯
Super excited about this 30-Day Challange! Cannot wait to brain hack my way to a transformed home & life 🎉. (((Also in the All Day Declutter❤❤❤)))
I am at a conference on the ADD day, so I have been working on the house this weekend instead. Watching any live is inspiring!
I decided to join the the September decluttering. I've always been a perfectionist. So the challenge to suck at this is really tempting )😊❤
Changing my mind - an anti-aging treatment that works. Start somewhere with encouragement from someone who gets it🥰
You have inspired this undiagnosed ADHD Grandma to declutter and organise her kitchen. I have baskets in every draw and wondering where else I can do it lol.
I'm learning a lot of what I've done is soooo ADHD.i have half a dozen dyi jobs not finished and I'm dying to start doing the next one..
Do I need medication or what! Lol
It's the start of spring here in Australia 🇦🇺 and I feel like not only decluttering but also washing everything in sight. Thanks for the motivation in this season Cas.❤
Another Aussie who will be Spring de-cluttering!!
Hi Cass I tried to comment on the first 5 minute challenge. It would not let me. I did my coat closet donated more than 5 things into two boxes. Looking forward to day 2 challenge
Teal looks so great on you, Cas!!
I decluttered old mascara, eyeliner, etc. That was my 5 minutes! I DID it!
Got some done a little early, spent 6 hours at my parents purging the basement. Needs more work, but two full outbacks went to the donation center, and one pickup load went to the dump
How much went you your house, that is my problem. How can I repurpose. Better now-say to self does it have home/right now purpose. 😂 understand now
Thanks Cas, i love the 5 a day idea, im starting right now😊brilliant idea, love your video's of inspiration. you're a true gem 💎 ❤
This is so backwards for me. In the fall is where I want to keep and hoard things to make it through winter. Yet, I have 3 houses in my house. Things need to go to get my life back. Fall is where I want to spring clean. Fall is where I want to deep clean and make things pretty since I will be stuck inside more than out. I hope this will help...
I just signed up for take your house back I've wanted to since last year and this is my early Christmas present for myself and my family ❤🎉🎉🎉
I love how you always make analogies to nature and biology! You claim you are not well educated but you are truly a self educated science nerd! Intended as a total compliment from a fellow nerd who would have been mortified by that fact in HS! Big hug!
Totally get the urge to clean and sort in September. I have always felt it in Spring and Autumn (change of season and the equinoxes).
Great point about blending our natural urge to purge and letting it be easy and not perfect!
I've been decluttering, and I'm at the point where I still feel like there's more to declutter, but it's harder to find! So I'm at the ruthless stage of decluttering and going further. This is going to be great!
you look so pretty in turquoise
I’m on day 4, I can’t believe how motivated u make me. I’m pretty lazy w cleaning, and now I’m doing it everyday since I found ur videos!
even our scalp declutters in Fall! (there's really more hairfall naturally during this time of the year) I wonder if it was instinct or what, even though I've been following you for a few years now, for the last 2 weeks, I've been watching/listening nothing but your content and I finally got off my butt and started decluttering and reorganizing my home! (newly diagnosed ADHD at the age of 40, always in a messy kitchen/wardrobe situations) and I think this time I understood what I am in terms of organizing styles (Butterfly in some rooms, Ladybug in others). I feel like smth is working this time. so thank you for helping us dear Cas 🥰
Yes, am also part of Take your house back. Am looking forward to the ADD, as well as doing these 30 days
I was really frozen, and did a 5 minute declutter and got my laundry started. Got rid of old bottles toiletries with a few drops of product.
Day one of my 30 day declutter done. Yay🎉
because it's Virgo season! the stars are aligned for us to declutter now hehe
Hahahaha 😂 listen to my face!!! 🤣 You crack me up . And this video is highly motivating ❤ thank you, you ROCK
As it’s the first of September is already 9 hours over here old as I am watching. I did declutter plastic containers (only one of the three spaces 😖) . It was easy to pick out more than 5 things. That was a great start of the day! Go for it!
… did another 5 minutes on shoes … found only 3 pairs to get rid of … putting a check mark ✅ anyway 😉 💪
@@ireneweber5664 Three pairs of shoes can count as six items. You did it! 🎉
Im looking forward to it 5mins a day yay!!!
I discovered Dawn first and cruised along over the past year, playing long video after video while I worked on decluttering. Then one of your videos popped up after hers one day and I discovered that 2 personalities with 2 different approaches was just what I needed! So, I bounce back and forth between you both and gradually am making a difference. Thank you so much and congratulations on becoming a fire fighter! That is truly amazing!
You should try Dana next :) her no mess decluttering method works great for some people.
I'm enjoying this challenge so much. I'm a semi minimalist but this is awesome. Annabel 😊
I’ve been anger cleaning since later spring and yes I have the urge to declutter again because it’s September! Every year I declutter before the holidays. Out with the old in with the new. After watching you and Dawn for the last few months, I’m really excited to declutter all of my holiday stuff. I’m only going to keep my most favorite things and things that we can actually use and get rid of all the extra 😅
my house is still a wreck, year two of TYHB, I'm not very active this year on the FB page but for $10, I'm a lifer. Decluttering needs to always on my brain for the rest of my life or I'll end up where I am again once I'm done. It's too easy for things to be gone in 6 months ago. I still do something at least once a week.
I am so excited! I am naturally clean, organized & tidy…all visible surfaces clean and clear…definitely makes maintenance easier. I do need to change how I think about my stuff, every cupboard and closet has been tetris ‘d so full, really need to rid myself of the excess. Love that you give permission to not “rehome” items, as I always feel bound to rehome in the best place possible.
Such a ladybug! 🐞❤
Thank you for the permission to suck, seriously! I stress out over not being able to do a perfectly and get everything exactly the way I want it. I am committing to embracing the suck!
Cas, you are nuts! And i sooooo love you and your crazy style decluttering. Your adhd friendly tested method works so good with me!!! ❤❤❤
This is a hard message but it's the right message!
Ok this is so motivating, freedom from the guilt, thank you for giving me permission to take my house back!
I'm on day one of the challenge I tried to do my front hallway closet and I found myself organizing and not decluttering this is going to take a lot for me to change my brain
I love your energy and your followers. I dont feel alone with my mess
I'm so glad!
You’re the best! Thank you for changing my life and being yourself! I appreciate your humor!! 5 & 5 is the best! Easy to stick with! Love this!!❤
Love and appreciate you Cas! ❤️🙌🩵
Your top and necklace look so good on you! I’m looking forward to this challenge and I know your stories will be extra fun ❤️
Omgosh. I wasn’t really expecting to actually do this but listened in while multitasking. Now im motivated to do this thing!!! I wanna start right now! Youre a great motivator!
I'm part of TYHB and heard about your challenge there. I'm just getting started on the challenge but looking forward to changing my mindset to declutter daily.
i dont think you are nagging..
you are just telling it as it is….the truth. keeps me moving…thank you
Hi. I’ve struggled with depression/bipolar for years now. I’m trying the 30 day challenge. I haven’t decluttered in all these years. I’m excited to be sucky for 30 days!
Have you looked into the Carnivore diet for this depression? Pls check out Dr Ken Berry, MD’s channel. Wishing you all the best.
That explains why I've been on a declutter spree for the past week😂. We finally tackled the main area of our garage and it feels amazing. Now we only have the attic and a seperate room in the garage to tackle, but those are less intimidating than what we've already done🎉
In the house I've done a big declutter last year, so this year is just maintenance and going another layer further with minimalism.
Totally agree. Decluttering does become the most enjoyable habit......xxx
For sure!
Looove this! I’m very excited that you are doing this. I need motivation & I signed up. ❤🎉
Wow that is your colour. Beautiful!
I thought that too. 😊
