Holy, you’re an amazing teacher! I’m going to make a bunch of these with extra yarn I have for donations for these cold months. Thank you for the lovely, easy pattern and wonderful teaching!! ❤️❤️
I only started to learn crochey a week ago so I am a sort of a beginner but I DID that waffle stitch scarf and it is beautiful. Really you are amazing, I like your work and how you explain. You are so skilled. Thank you from Egypt
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Braden Omar i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you for the lovely tutorial in detail. I love your way of a DC in the beginning and ending of the row. It does not show any hole/space. You are a great tutor! 🌷
You are the best ,Jen I like the way you explain to us .I've learn crochet for one year , when other people explain and teach I don't understand .Thanks for your help .May The Lord Bless You✝🔱
Thanks for this pattern. I used Bernat Blanket for a different texture and thickness. Using one skein, about 14 chains to start up, works very quickly, probably 2 hours, no interruptions. Scarf is super chunky thick! Wish I could post a pic!
I've made a few of these scarves using your tutorial. Your instructions are very clear & to the point. I love the way you show us all to make beautiful things. Thank you & happy hooking
wow...i have passed up trying the waffle stitch a 100 times because i thought it would be to hard. thanks for taking the time to do a crochet along that is easy to follow and just as easy to understand. I have had some very positive feedback on the scarf that i made. Happy Holidays to you and yours
Thank you so much for explaining and showing everything. I’ve watched quite a few waffle stitch videos and was getting so frustrated; I’m so glad I found your video!
Jennifer I am obsessed with this pattern! I have made 6 different colored scarves for gift giving this Christmas. Your instructions are so clear, they take away any reservations about trying something new. Keep the videos coming... I'm a real fan! Thank you.
Thank you so much you are a great teacher! This was only my 4th project and I completed it without any problem. I love the look of this scarf and it will be someone's Christmas gift this year!
I love the waffle stitch. You did a wonderful job explaining how to do the stitch. Great tutorial. The waffle stitch has a wonderful texture. Would you please make a tutorial for a dishcloth using this stitch? Great work, Jennifer.
WOW!!! Thank You! I feel inspired! I'm going to try this. I've watched UA-cam Videos for years now and never felt compelled to comment. Thank you for this excellent lesson. You made a seemingly complex project seem approachable. Thank you!
Fibre Flux videos are the easiest to follow. This is a fantastic tutorial. Thank you. N.B. I first tried a sample using 100% merino size 5 yarn but it did not suit. The I used Caron Skinny Cakes size 3 yarn with a size 5 crochet hook which worked better. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished scarf. I’m making it skinny for our summer. 🌺
Hi Jennifer, I saw many different versions for this stitch but was not comfortable with the edges, used to find it confusing! I absolutely love it thatin your pattern we start the same way on both rows! So easy to follow and remember! Loving this pattern! Thanks a lot for this fantastic tutorial 😊👍
Love this stitch ! :) made a rather pastel-ish 8.5 foot mega scarf! Lots of fun. I'm sure it will find a home.... somewhere Thanks for the great & easy tutorial
Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I have been wanting to learn this stitch for a while and you are right it isn’t hard. Thanks again. You made it easy. Excellent teach!!! ☺️
I am new to crochet. This is my 1st project. I love your video, I have watched it several times and it really helped me t o understand the concept . I am a knitter so I am use to videos. Thanks for all your help. I love your website.Bonnie F.
9:10 I'm a little confused here, the video seems to show two different ways of ending the row: either FPDC on second to last and then DC on last, ignoring the chain, or after the video cuts it shows FPDC on last stitch and DC on top of chain. Do we just choose whichever way we like? The former makes the most sense, but in the latter I'm not sure if I'm missing something it doesn't line up. There's 21 DC in the first row. The first stitch of the second row is a DC, and from there you repeat the series of 3 stitches (1 FPDC, 2 DC) 6 times to end on a full sequence (now you've done 19 stitches in this row) before the end of the row would leave two stitches and the chain. This is where I'm confused: If you're going to FPDC in the last stitch and DC in the chain, you'd have to either skip a stitch (ending with 21 stitches like the previous row) or have 3 DC in a row or 2 FPDC in a row (which would end up with 22 stitches in the row) because otherwise the numbers aren't adding up. Sorry if I misunderstood something ;;
This is a brilliant video tutorial, thank you so much and especially thank you for the multiples. I had never worked anything in crochet before but I like watching your videos. We had some bad weather in the uk which meant a lot of unexpected time stuck indoors. I have made a waffle stitch snood in a dk weight yarn & a 4mm hook using these instructions and it has come out brilliantly.
Love it. Already making Christmas items for family 2018. I have some beautiful tweed like Vana White yarn color is called obsidian (deep charcoal with a lite tan fleck) that will be a beautiful scarf for my brother. Love your instructions so easy to follow. Thank you
I was always confused on how the horizontal ringing was made but had never seen any waffle stitch pieces or handled them to see how it was done, this was an easy follow along! I used the “mistletoe” yarn by RHSS and used a jumbo roll + half of a second jumbo roll to make it and I’m gone to border it with white and add tassels 😁😁
Beautiful. I am a newbie to crochet. I was thinking which stitch to use to crochet a scarf for my son who is in Canada, I guess I found one 😊. Thank you for easy instructions.
Lovely scarf. I've done this as a blanket for one of my granddaughter's. They loved it. Thank u for the informative tutorial as u explain how to do complex stitches. Xx
Thank you so much for sharing this video and your talent. I just finished a scarf. I used the Lion Brand Pound of Love in the color denim. I love it. I'm thinking of making a matching hat and fingerless gloves if it is possible with this stitch. Maybe with smaller hook. If not just use the same yarn. Thanks again. Take care, jlee
Fiber Spider has a great tutorial. I made a waffle stitch hat in just a couple hours using his fantastic instruction. I know your comment is 4 years old but I'm replying for anyone who might need it, including you :)
I love your videos. I've tried listening to others but your voice is very pleasing and you give full instructions. I'm trying to learn the Herringbone stitch and I'm unable to locate one that you have done. Can you point me in the right direction ?
Your tutorials are fabulous! I've made several of your projects in the just the past few weeks. One possibly dumb 😳 question I have is about how to identify the "top chain" of the turning chain. For me it's usually just "trial & error" and then I see what looks good and/or is continuing the edge straight. For this waffle stitch though since we are only chaining 1 at the end of each row I'm struggling trying to figure out which is the "top chain" of the turning chain. I can't quite tell in this video. 🙄
Update: now that I've gotten about a dozen rows down I must have guessed correctly as the last stitch of each row now appears to make sense. However, if you have any "basic" tutorials about identifying stitches, turning chains, top chains, etc. that would be great! 👍🏻😀
row 2: 5:16
row 3: 9:54
(commenting this for myself bc i forget how each row starts lol)
Haha, I was just about to do the same thing. Thanks!
Natasha S. no problem!
thanks you so much. I thought I was alone in this... lol
Holy, you’re an amazing teacher! I’m going to make a bunch of these with extra yarn I have for donations for these cold months. Thank you for the lovely, easy pattern and wonderful teaching!! ❤️❤️

Do you have a picture of it
The Last how many double crochet a did you have in the 2nd row please.
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?

Ok...took a few tries but I finally got it and I LOVE it!!! Thank you!!!

I used this pattern a couple of years ago but needed a refresher course. This is an excellent video!
I just finished an Afghan in this pattern. I can honestly say it’s a pattern you have to pay attention to what you’re doing, but it’s worth it
I really love your tutorials! So clear and easy to follow. Subscribed!

This looks really fun. I'm going to try this.
so row 4 also starts in a 3rd loop like row 2?
Finishing needles are great for weaving in small yarn pieces
As I am just learning new stitches I was alway wary of this on but after watching it it looks surprisingly easy. Thank you x
Thank u for such an amazing tutorial!
