Fun fact about the Virginia Class: They were actually built with a below-deck hanger for helicopters! The helipad at the stern would lower itself down into the hanger, and the opening would be covered by a telescoping hatch. Unfortunately it never worked and always leaked, with meant that the hanger and helicopters were frequently exposed to uncomfortable quantities of sea water. They had them removed and sealed off relatively quickly, and the space was then used to house the Tomahawk launchers we see in-game.
This scenario was heavily loaded against the USN. No air cover, no helos and no chance comes to mind. What truly amused me was having a Soviet airbase situated somewhere between the Bekaar Valley (Lebanon) and Syria. This is nearly half a century before Russia was invited into Syria by Assad Junior. Not even Assad senior was that daft. Ah well, it was entertaining at least. 😊❤❤❤😊
