Good to know owner is from Dan Wesson. I just (10/23) discovered this brand while looking at online offerings. I first thought I was some kind of cheapo brand, until I researched it. I like that they offer a 6" long slide in 10mm.
I own 2 Fusions. Their factory is 20 minutes away. I've met and talked to Mr. Serva at LGS's having Fusion events. He is the epitome of knowledge, his shop the epitome of service. It's the only 1911 for me.
They are supposed to be sending me a shotgun to review, hoping it’s as good of quality as their 1911s
Fusion's tech videos on UA-cam are excellent. Bob Serva knows 1911's. I build my own competition 1911's and I've learned a lot from watching the Fusion videos.
A 1911 was my first pistol and it spoiled me. My test is one handed accuracy, non-suported, left and right at 20 yards.
If I videoed, I would compare that to well supported. Thanks for this vid.
My first 1911 was a Fusion Riptide-C in 10mm. Now im looking for a Freedom Reaction in 45!
I just picked up the Fusion Riptide in 45acp, it is back at Fusion getting a new set of sights & an extractor adjustment but it’s a really great gun that should be even better when returned! I put 250rnds through it & used Wilson mags mostly & it was a joy to shoot
I have a Fusion Gold series, Gold Cup, ordered it in .38 Super with a ramped barrel. Like your CCO it’s glass smooth, fit and finish is perfect. Never had a problem with it and it’s a real tack driver.
The Dan Wesson Valkyrie Commander is my preferred carry. The short grip cco didn't conceal much better to make up for the control of the Commander. I had both.
I have a Dan Wesson Guardian in 38 Super which I love. The minimalist aesthetics is very appealing to me too. I am looking at the Fusion Riptide-C.
Just got my 1911 yesterday. I love it. Hit the range again today. The 1911 9mm 10mag has very good weight very smooth slide. It an dope gun!!
I have a CCO and a 5”, I absolutely love them. I have really enjoyed the CCO lately, just an incredibly smooth shooting gun. You can’t beat them for the price.
That’s for sure!
"Factory oil" is actually a preservative with very poor lubricating property. All new guns need to be cleaned before the first range session.
I agree and condone that, however for UA-cam purposes… I neglect mine lol
@@davehart7943 There are always new gun owners that might not know that sir. I have watched many first time gun purchases and the salesman never upsells past the ammunition. Gun rugs, bags, cases and cleaning kits seldom are offered. Not everyone is as knowledgeable as a seasoned shooter.
I can’t understand anyone shooting a gun without first cleaning it. You’d think you should be able to do that but preservatives aren’t the same thing as lubricant.
I've got a Fusion 10mm Combat Commander, been loving it
I will probably go 10mm on my next one
@@thegundungeon understood wholeheartedly, I have a nice collection of 10mm 1911's, Ruger, RIA, Springfield, Kimber, Fusion and just picked up a Girsan because it was incredibly inexpensive and will be testing it soon
@@christopherbishop4927
Did you pick up the Girson? If so how did it work out?
I have a Fusion NIB I haven't got around to shooting ( along with a number of other guns) since my medical problems have arisen. Thanks for this review, I will look forward to shooting it, hopefully with the same results as you. Take Care, God Bless, STAY SAFE
Just subscribed from Kentuck Patriot, cool channel!! I love 1911's
Awesome! Thank you! Maybe we can all get together next time lol
Great review, now I need another 1911 for the collection.
Dang right lol
@@thegundungeon and Center Fire has the GI model in-stock
@@atomross13 get on it lol
I agree on this. I have 2 and they are great shooters. Nothing wrong with the Rock Island though either, unless you’re a gun snob.
I ordered a 10mm Fusion commander last night. After tax $660.00 real excited!!!!
I couldnt of said it better myself! I bought Fusion parts before for 1911s and was pleasantly surprised on the quality of the parts and the low price for them. They are still my go to place for wood grips! The guns they build are also really great too! They are Dan Wesson quality! THe only problem is they come in only one finish. I really like the parkerized finish the guns come in however I would like to see a stainless or chrome finish available. I talked with Fusion about it and they said they could do other finishes for you however it would be a custom order.
pretty sure all their 1911’s are black oxide (blued) unless u specify otherwise.
Fusion Firearms is 5 Min Away From Me In Venice Florida 😀😊😀
I have a new Fusion Reaction 10mm and it is a premium piece on a budget price.
Fusion comes with Mec-gar mags like Springer 1911's do. $1,600. Kimber and you only get one mag. also. Hey anyone that collects 1911's has a box full of low end mags for the range. For defense your going to use Wilson mags anyway.
No Wilson’s here. Mecgar are my pick.
I believe Bul Armory sells their 1911s with Mecgar magazines as well. I don’t believe all of these companies would risk their reputation by providing inferior magazines with their firearms.
It looks about the size of the Detonics Combat Master .45 I used to own.
I think John Rourke would approve of this gun. Does it come in Stainless?
I don’t think so. At least I haven’t seen one in stainless yet. Fusion is fairly new so give them some time and they will have more and more options
so is it manufactured here in FL
Yes
Nice gun, better than my new colt competition, made a mistake there
Really , that much better. I bought a colt comp pistol in stainless 9mm and it has run perfectly so far. I’ve just hit 1000 rounds but I’m hoping it was not a mistake. Anything I should be looking for ?
Ima have to check that gun out. I like that.
It’s a slick little rig
Coming back to this vid a year later, if you happen to see this, is your Fusion still running well? Thanks.
Running great, I swapped out the front sight with a tritium sight, it’s one of my favorite 1911s.
@@thegundungeon Thanks a bunch for getting back and giving a positive report. I am shopping for my next tool and am looking at the Tisas Yukon and the Fusion Commander in 10mm. Take care.
That's a fancy smancy gun right there! 😉😊
I just happen to own one
These 1911’s are OK, but for the Money I really like the Springfield Armory & Kimber 1911’s that we have tested on our channel. We did test and evaluate an upper-end Fusion.
If you are after a Semi custom 1911, then get a Dan Wesson, or entry level Les Baer. You will be a proud owner in the long run. I look forward to seeing more 1911 Reviews from you on this channel in the future. Stay Safe!

Kimber? LOL.
Cobra mags all day long!!!
Nice
Thank ya!
They are NOT cut for Novak sights. I had to send mine to Novak to get it cut for real Novak sights. This is a misleading advertisement. Other than that I found it to be a great gun that you get more than you pay for. The MIMed hammer and sear has lasted through thousands of rounds so no problem there but don't buy Novak sights and expect them to fit.
@@five-oonsene545 I haven’t tried to change them, their website says and I quote “The rounded butt of the frame and mainspring housing provide added carry comfort, and the Novak compatible sight cuts allow you to easily change out the sights if desired.”
@@thegundungeon Rear sight dovetail on the Fusion is .457 wide, Novak is a minimum of .495, front sight on Fusion is .316, Novak minimum of .330. A rear adjustable which is what I wanted, there is not enough material on the Novak sight to take off for a fit without getting into the pin on the front or getting into the screws on the rear. The Dawson front made for Rock Island is a perfect fit for the front. I could not find a rear sight that was close to fitting Fusion's rear dovetail so off it went to Novak.
@@five-oonsene545 I don’t doubt you, just saying all I had to go off of was what they said lol.
@@thegundungeon Your front sight is probably too short as mine was so you can get a shorter front from Dawson for the RIA that with no fitting will go right on. You can do the sight math on Dawson's website for an exact front sight height after you measure yours which simplifies matters considerably. They are great pistols for the money and the sight and their denial is the only con I have with them. Their customer service, except for the sight thing, is excellent.
Why do some hand gun makers, send 1 mag ? When they should have 2 or 3 ? Charge more ,and give us what we need!
I agree, a lot of people are picky on 1911 mags though so maybe that’s why in this case.
Because 1911 owners have 100s of mags laying around. If you don't, go get them.
I'm a old 1911 snob if the gun doesn't come with a checkered front strap I'm not interested.
Not one single 1911 manufactured for the US Army ever had a checkered front strap, ever. So if you're "old school" WTF are you talking about?
