What about this for a plot: Stone Cold Steve Austin finds a time machine owned by the evil McMahon family and accidentally gets sent to the time of Merlin. After a few wacky hijinks that result in the kidnapping of Arthur, Stone Cold Steve Austin has to take the sword and travel to the king's castle (who is an ancestor to Vince McMahon) to defeat him before he steals the time machine (which would result in King McMahon ruling the world) and take Arthur back. While also doing a lot of famous wrestling moves, being joined by an animal sidekick who only talks in modern pop culture references and falling in love with a woman who is secretly the king's daughter. I don't know, I just whipped this up in 5 minutes.

Ok. So. In my personal opinion and I feel kinda biased when saying this but Happy Feet Two was the better sequel to an animated penguin movie compared to Surf’s Up 2. Sure, Happy Feet Two is not as good as the original, but it has one thing that Surf’s Up 2 doesn’t have; CONSISTENCY. Surf’s Up 2 barely has any connection with the original other than the concept and characters and maybe some of the voice actors. Seriously though, what the hell happened with Big Z and most of the other characters from the original Surf’s Up. I feel like that this is either a dream or all the penguins moved to another island for whatever reason. At least with Happy Feet Two, the people behind the movie actually gave a crap and included more characters on the Arctic surface other than Mumble, Gloria, the amigos, Erik and his friends. Also, what infuriates me more is that Happy Feet Two opened on the same day as Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1. I would rather sit through a not so great sequel with singing and dancing penguins than the mess that is Twilight. Also, since I compared Happy Feet to SING in my other comment talking about the original film and the original Surf’s Up. I think SING 2 will be fine despite it being released 5 years after the original, because they got the Minions to help them be commercially viable. And before you guys yell and scream at me for saying that, I do NOT tolerate this kind of hate towards an animated film in any shape or form. So there.
I agree, while Happy Feet 2 isn’t as tightly-written or as great it’s predecessor, it still has an engaging story, good animation, earned it’s emotional moments, had decent song covers, and at the very least, the characters were still likeable and compelling, they had solid arcs, and genuinely changed over the course of the movie. But Surf’s Up 2 just looks and feels like a cheap cash-grab, with a bland story, dull characters, and blatant shilling of the WWE wrestlers over a good narrative or anything creative. And this is coming from someone who thinks the first Surf’s Up is just okay!
2017 was not a good year for Sony Pictures Animation: Smurfs, The Star, Emoji movie, losing both the Mario and Sonic movie rights, the failed Cloudy TV series and a bad sell-out sequel to one of their beloved movies from the 2000's.

Yeah I missed when Parody movies had more clever humor and weren’t reliant on being as gross as possible. And were consistent of what they were actually parodying. It seems with those movies there main focus was to parody or reference as many movies as possible even if they have nothing in common with each other (Like meet the parents and 300 really?”).

Ok. So. In my personal opinion and I feel kinda biased when saying this but Happy Feet Two was the better sequel to an animated penguin movie compared to Surf’s Up 2. Sure, Happy Feet Two is not as good as the original, but it has one thing that Surf’s Up 2 doesn’t have; CONSISTENCY. Surf’s Up 2 barely has any connection with the original other than the concept and characters and maybe some of the voice actors. Seriously though, what the hell happened with Big Z and most of the other characters from the original Surf’s Up. I feel like that this is either a dream or all the penguins moved to another island for whatever reason. At least with Happy Feet Two, the people behind the movie actually gave a crap and included more characters on the Arctic surface other than Mumble, Gloria, the amigos, Erik and his friends. Also, what infuriates me more is that Happy Feet Two opened on the same day as Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1. I would rather sit through a not so great sequel with singing and dancing penguins than the mess that is Twilight. Also, since I compared Happy Feet to SING in my other comment talking about the original film and the original Surf’s Up. I think SING 2 will be fine despite it being released 5 years after the original, because they got the Minions to help them be commercially viable. And before you guys yell and scream at me for saying that, I do NOT tolerate this kind of hate towards an animated film in any shape or form. So there.
I agree, while Happy Feet 2 isn’t as tightly-written or as great it’s predecessor, it still has an engaging story, good animation, earned it’s emotional moments, had decent song covers, and at the very least, the characters were still likeable and compelling, they had solid arcs, and genuinely changed over the course of the movie. But Surf’s Up 2 just looks and feels like a cheap cash-grab, with a bland story, dull characters, and blatant shilling of the WWE wrestlers over a good narrative or anything creative. And this is coming from someone who thinks the first Surf’s Up is just okay!

2017 was not a good year for Sony Pictures Animation: Smurfs, The Star, Emoji movie, losing both the Mario and Sonic movie rights, the failed Cloudy TV series and a bad sell-out sequel to one of their beloved movies from the 2000's.
That Smurfs movie is their best one to date, and it was actually a modest success.
I wonder how the Cloudy series was. I loved those movies. I assume it may have not done well also because of TV dying.
