What I love about this channel - the fact that titling these videos with "Bass Cover" is a great injustice. Some of them truly are covers but for those who aren't aware, this particular video is a complete reimagining of the song, with a stank bassline that doesn't actually exist in the original song. The talent here is staggering to a.) create a bassline from scratch that compliments the song so well that you would have no idea it wasn't part of the original song and would, instead, just say "geez, this song has such a great bassline", and b.) to actually *play* that incredible bassline.

It's a true version of a "cover". So many people just copy a song when they make a cover, note for note, that's not a true cover, it's an impersonation. I admire her ability to use her talent and skill to make amazing tributes to the musicians she loves. Julia, you blow my mind every time I hear you play. Thank you for sharing!!!

This bassline is not created from scratch though but rather reworked and improved, it's similar to the original one. You can hear the original bassline better on bass boosted version of the song.

I know these videos tend to get views based on the song choice and what's popular at the time, but the fact that this video only has 400K views is crazy to me. This is a completely new bassline with some nasty fills as well. She created most of this to fit the song, and it works SO well. I'm a learning guitar player, but Julia will impress and amaze me forever. Bass is way cooler to me.

To answer questions about Julia & her gear. She's from Poland. I'm a 19 year old self-taught bass player. I play bass since December 2013.
    My gear: -
Sterling by Music Man S.U.B. Ray4 -Zoom B3 (interface and effects)
Q: Whats program do you use for record the bass sound?
    A: I use Audacity
Q: How do u record with such an amazing sound ?
A: I plug in bass to interface audio, then i record it in DAW software
Q: Are you using an amp before connecting to your interface?
A: I plug the bass straight to interface and then I add a little bit of compression in Audacity :)
Q: Good Sound!! the bass original or replaced mic/ electronics?
A: Everything is original :) (Except the strings)
Q: which strings / sizes do you play?
    A: DR Hi-Beams 40-100
Q: What do you use as software to superimpose audio and video?
    A: I use Sony Vegas Pro :)
Q: How do you achieve to have that tone from your stingray? are you using the onboard eq or a plugin from your interface?
A: I set tone with onboard EQ, then I put some some compression on bass track
Q: How do you synch the audio and the video?
A: I use Sony Vegas Pro, but any video editing software will do
Q: I would like to know how you get this tone,
A: My setup is really simple - First I set tone of my bass with onboard EQ, then I record bass track using an audio interface, and then I put some compression and EQ on bass track.
Thanks for watching my videos! I don't take requests! :)

I love her playing also but your comment is absolutely NOT true. Everything she does CAN be taught and was taught to her. All it takes is commitment and lots of practice and anyone can become a great bass player or any instrument for that matter. All that talk about something being in people's DNA that makes them play the instrument better than anyone else, is pure nonsense and completely false. So all you wannabe bass players out there or musicians in general. You can all do it! There is no secret "gift" or "touch" the gift is practice, practice, practice and hard work and you can all become this good and better! And any really great musician will tell you the same! Its almost an insult when people like this make it seem that a great player has some secret sauce in their DNA that makes them play this good. It takes away from the real reason they play so great and that is all the hard work and practice they put into the instrument.

There are billions of golfers , world wide , yet , how many play at the pro level ? I'm not saying this to be mean ... the bass is Julia's gift , but , that's not to say that someone who enjoys playing bass , may be far more gifted at something else .
